I made a soca/afrobeats beat with my midi controller!
This is like 5th beat I made completely on my own without any yt tutorials or anything, I need some feedback and honesty so I can improve.
FREE SAMPLE: Dark folk / Americana reimagining of Gangsta's Paradise 🤠
Tracked this as a "cowboy's last ride" concept — eerie, cinematic, haunting. Full mix, high-quality download enabled on SoundCloud. No stems, but the textures are clean and wide open to chop. No AI used during production. Please don't feed this into AI now 😄 but I can't/won't stop you.
*legal note* this is a cover of Gangsta's paradise which was also a cover of Pastime paradise. You're welcome to use my cover work how you like, however, attempting to publish for profit would not be possible without explicit approval from the original owners.
Good for: trap, phonk, lo-fi, dark hip-hop
Timestamps worth knowing:
• 1:13 — stripped chorus, moody and minimal
• 2:06 — tight eerie vocal harmonies
• 3:11 — short atmospheric build
• 3:17 — HUGE cinematic finale chorus
Free to chop and flip — just keep it to underground/free releases.

What can I do to get better at making beats. Also, what can I do to make this one better. Like I wanna be good at this. I need to put in some work, but lowkey need guidance. Any pointers?
Are the triplet og flares recognizable or Its just a mess? Was fun anyway
Laptops broken rn so I tried messing about on bandlab. Also gave automation à try, it’s kinda hard on a mobile device lol. I have some vocals too but theyre not that great so I figured I would try and see how I can improve the beat itself. Any feedback would be super appreciated.
So I spent a few hours chatting and testing with Claude, and this is what I came up with. Everything you need in one place!
This script takes basic chords and transforms them into crazy guitar arpeggios. Just draw any chords you want at the length you want, then mess with the options.
If you have ideas on how to improve this script, make sure to leave them in the comments and I'll try to implement them!
