My other baby korra. Common ball. She’s my biggest, and my heaviest. Her favorite place is me or in front of the window.

Anyone else have a deep burrower?

This enclosure has a good 8-10” of soil. I moved apartments and had to excavate everything, and that tunnel went all the way to the drainage layer and across the whole length of the tank. And that tunnel was sturdy! I kind of feel bad about ruining it, she must have worked hard on it…

enclosure size

i will never understand the argument that ball pythons don’t need at least 120g enclosures… every night i watch my zero absolutely destroy all my hard decor work

My boy Tito took his second rat in a row for me last night. So proud of his progress!

He hadn’t eaten since mid-January for his last owner, but I got him home 2 weeks ago today and he’s taken 2 rat pups for me! He only takes them drop fed, but he eats them almost immediately. So proud of him for eating like a champ! <3 (pic is from earlier this week, I give him 48 hours to himself to digest after eating)

I’m a career reddit lurker, but I am too excited not to share. This is our first ball python. Her name is Neera! Let me know what you think!

Heat mat

I got a Ball Python about two weeks ago, his name is Marv. I have another snake a hog nose, with her I use a ceramic heater and haven't had any issues. The breader with Marv really pushed and mat that heats from under the tank. i was wondering if anyone has any tips about it. I turned it on and set it to 88 degrees on the warm side and have been monitoring it. I've been slowing turning it because it isnt heating up the tank very well. it's set at 96 right now and the tank floor is only hitting 83.

Why is my girlie scared of me?

I have an almost 14 year old lesser python. Her humidity and temperatures are perfectly fine. She eats well and her sheds are beautiful. However I noticed she’s scared of me when she’s in her tank. She’s fairly big a little over 5 feet and she a thickkkk girlie.

I hadn’t had her entire life. I was given her when she was 6 and had her for 5 years, gave her to a friend for 3 and got her back in August 2025. She’s been really happy since then.

When she’s not hiding I’ll go look at her and talk to her and she looks at me for a bit and then hides. Or if I walk by her tank too fast she freaks out (that one I can understand a bit more) if I stick my hand in her tank to fix something or to even grab her she gets scared. But once she’s out of the tank she’s the most relaxed snake ever. We chill for hours, I can for her head and chin pets, she lays on me, she explores we watch TV. But as soon as she’s back in her tank she’s terrified.

The weird thing is that when other people come over and check out her tank she comes out immediately to see who they are or she’s very curious of them. I never let anyone take her out so if they wanna hold her I’ll take her out and hand her to them.

I think my BP is underweight

My snek is Male, 9 months, 250g and 32 inches. His weight hasn’t been increasing for the past 2 months. I’ve been feeding him once a week with a large mouse. I’ve been meaning to switch to rats but it’s hard to find a seller in my area.

HELP! What's going on with her chin?

HELP! What's going on with my ball pythons chin? Warm side is 85-90 while her cool side is above 70s. Humidity is between 60-75%. She's been eating just fine, F/T medium rats. She's active and alert. Every other part of her is just fine. It's only her chin, where there's these little, almost symmetrical indents that appear to be scabbing or something.

Snakes Eating and Weights

I have 3 ball pythons, All with VASTLY different eating habits.

My first one, a normal female about 2 years old, is on month 4 without food. This is her 2nd year doing this, she goes off food for 6 months or so then will eat normally for the other 6.

My 2nd one, a male banana about 2 years old, i’m realizing is overweight, he eats anything you put infront of him, regardless of if it’s time or not, and when i went out of town last month he got fed 2 times in one week.

My 3rd, is a very civilized Enchi OD about 1 year old and eats like a lady, very politely and on a routine schedule. She is gaining weight nicely, and i’ve only had her 8 months.

My question is, they all have similar set ups, are in the same room, and they get the same care and attention. Is there anyway i can help my 1st girl eat more? She’s almost the same weight as my 3rd girl who i just got, and she’s twice her age. I have a plan for my fat lard no worries there, but im just concerned about my girl who isn’t eating. I’ve tried braining mice, ive tried putting her in a different box, ive tried feeding her at night and in the morning. I’m worried she’s deciding she wants live, and because of where im at, i cant offer live. I really don’t want to rehome her but i will if it gets her eating.

What is this on belly scales?

My gal just finished shedding for the first time with me Wednesday, and is normal and back to moving. Shed came off in one piece. Noticed this while weighing and checking her post-shed today. Is this normal? What is it? The scales almost look uneven. Humidity has been between 65-85%.
