Added silver to my 8Y.5 S3 with black optic package.

Finally found the silver exhaust tips and now this car looks exactly how I hoped it would from factory. Just enough silver IMO.

New whip!

Been eyeing an S3 for 2 years now. Drove a 2022 GR86 before this. This is my first German/lux car and I love it, endless fun. It’s funny because I posted in the 86 forum that I’m leaving the 86 for an S3 and they said I downgraded… lol.

DIY brakes

I’ll be doing all my pads and rotors all at once, as far as i’m aware it’s pretty straightforward, the only iffy thing is the rear caliper park brake but I have OBD11 to retract it/put it in service mode, that’s basically it right? the front calipers are just the usual piston pushing?

My main question is has anyone used these? Powerstop K7253, Z23 evolution sport brakes. The rotors are drilled AND slotted. I would normally stay away from drilled because of cracking however according to powerstop they have a 36 month / 36k miles warranty. Which is the only reason i am considering these.

I’m also ordering a new pad wear sensor because i’ve heard I should replace the actual plug everytime and it’s only like 5 bucks.

Im on an APR stage 1 tune and have an integrated engineering open intake, the flutter on lift off is ok but this one on accelerations concerns me

Multiple errors on 8v. Anyone have any experience? They all come on straight after eachother

Tuning Options

Hey, I’m looking for tuning options for my 2024 8Y S3. An important detail is that it has a Gen 3 engine, not the Gen 4, so it’s a bit confusing when searching for a map from brands like Unitronic or others. I’m in Costa Rica and the market here is a bit unusual, which is why it’s essentially an 8Y body with an 8V engine (I’m running a CTS intake from the 8V generation and an APR inlet pipe from Gen 3).

There really isn’t a trusted place to get a custom tune here, to be honest. I’m mainly looking for a Stage 1 tune, ideally to remove the GPF and catalytic converter.

Thanks in advance!

Finally stage 2 on my s3 8y

Mods: Remus race exhaust

Scorpion catless downpipe and no opf

Forge Motorsport intake, elbow and inlet

Racingline intercooler

NGK grade 8 spark plugs

I did a custom ECU/TCU tune, done by a local tuner in Romania DOP Motorsport, the car is making around 435hp and 560nm with a safe tune. I said around because numbers on the dyno can vary from dyno to dyno.

Anyone have lowering springs that they love? I want to space the stock wheels out and lower it a bit, nothing too crazy. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also if you run spacers, what’s a good set up for flush fitment. (2024 S3)

First mods to my 8y S3

First few mods done to the S3, keeping it fairly light at the moment as I plan to avoid affecting reliability or driveability too much.

Popped on a painted black front lip really feels like the car has a chin now, helps the silhouette of the front end a lot imo. Also ditched the small factory deck lid for a more aggressive carbon fiber one. Thought it may be too much but I ended up really liking it. Got a few more carbon accents coming including mirror caps and a few small trim pieces.

Also flashed an Integrated Engineering Stage 1 tune(ECU only for now) and feels like it really woke the car up from the factory tune. Followed up by installing a CTS Turbo intake and turbo outlet pipe, these may be relatively performance neutral but I do like hearing the induction more.

Turbo/Diverter Valve Noise - Normal?

I recently installed a CTS Turbo intake and Turbo outlet pipe on my 23 S3, and definitely more induction noise but it's different than I expected. Previous MQB Cars I had would let off more of a flutter/compressor surge type sound when letting off the gas with boost loaded. In this case it's more of a straight up venting air- "pshhhh", like a more typical blow off valve sound. Is this normal? Were my previous cars' diverter valves not working? Any experience would be helpful, as I don't necessarily think something is wrong because no boost leaks found and it's a pretty simple install, more just curious.

Has anyone tried those A/C evaporator cleaners that you spray in through the drain line? I'm getting a bit of a musty smell and want to see if they actually work before I buy a kit. Thanks!
Car is and S3 2016 with 51,000 kms.

Hey guys just got a 2024 S3 and was wondering what the best options were for a non aggressive exhaust. I love the OEM sound in dynamic but would like it to be a bit louder but not too loud. Thanks!

Not so nice is finding one of your bushing bracket bolts cross threaded and snapping it on removal.. 🫠🤣
