Hey, we're looking for an illustrator for a children's book. The main characters are three girls and one boy, around 13 or 14 years old. You can design the characters however you like; they're briefly described in the story, but that might still change. We’re flexible. We’d like a stylish cover and a few illustrations inside the book.

We’ll pay for the illustrations, and your name will, of course, be on the book cover. The story takes place in Germany. Unfortunately, I don’t know how much an illustration costs. Maybe 200 euros for the cover and 50 euros per illustration in the book? They should be small pictures here and there.

I’m currently working on a trading card game that’s basketball related and in the realm of say about fantasy and science fiction for now. I scrolled through the homemadeTCG subreddit and came across one artist that ended up doing a sketch for me for about $15. Color and detail was about $80, in which I do hope to work with him more often, so I believe that’s about the ball park I’m wanting to work.

I have about five different types of cards, which are:

Player cards (Cards that showcase the player)

Gear cards (Cards that give additional stats for the players)

Arena cards (Showcasing the arena the specific team plays in)

Memorable moment cards (Big play moments that could turn the tide of a game)

Stamina cards (Resource cards that can range from all over! There’s 3 types, Guard, Forward and Center [The three positions of players], and I’d like to make multiple types of these just to add more flavor. It’d be a more detailed Player card I feel as it might showcase two players battling it out.)

I don’t have tons of money, but do want to have about like 10-15 cards made to showcase how a turn goes for my game so I can post the recorded video on KickStarter to eventually get crowdfunding going. So I’d be fine with sketches for now around that range, but open to all discussions even if you might want to consider keeping in touch for something later on as I have about 210 cards for my first batch.

How salary works-

My game is huge in terms of how long it will be for, it is episodic, with each episode perhaps requiring 200+ unique spirit designs or animations.

Fixed amounts will be-

1 main character walking sprite = $40

1 animation = $50

1 plain NPC= $30

Meaning, If episode 2 requires around 50 max unique walking sprites, 50 plus unique animations and 30 plus NPCs, that could bring the cost around $5000+ per episode.

This is a long time arrangement for episode 2, so don’t apply if you don’t believe you have the time. This is a part-time job.

Hello! I'm looking for a fantasy artist to make assets for my website. I know fantasy is a broad term, but think warm/vibrant/party-like fantasy, as opposed to gothic/gritty or abstract/cell-shaded fantasy.

I'm happy to go over the concept more in DMs, but the gist that I'm going for is a lively tavern theme with guild hall elements. Banners, wooden backdrop to look like tabletops or walls, ideally animated slightly to give some life to the pages. Example: I'd like the icons on the top (contact, about us, etc.) to be hanging signs (think "open" carved on a piece of wood), or maybe shields, or something else.

Essentially, I don't want a cookie cutter website, I want to go over the top with the fantasy elements.

I need YOU to help me with the assets, design, etc., while I have my developer implement it all and make it "work."

some inspiration I have or styles I like in general are Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, an D&D 4th Edition. I want it to feel fantasy and light-hearted, with a touch of cartoony. I may also come to you and have you work on characters for the brand (thinking of a goblin mascot for repairs, website guidance, etc.) but that would be in the future.

Crooked Tree Comics is an independent creative studio based in Chicago, Illinois, specializing in science fiction, superheroes, and supernatural narratives. We are currently operating in complete private pre-production as we develop our 2027-2028 slate of original titles.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS

To ensure a professional and secure experience for all applicants, we follow a two-phase selection process:

ROUND ONE: Portfolio Review

We are looking for Sequential Samples (storytelling flow) and Character Model Sheets (design consistency).

• Requirements: Please submit 1–4 pages of your existing body of work.

• No Spec Work: We are NOT requesting any custom or new art for this phase. We want to see what you have already accomplished.

ROUND TWO: Commissioned 1-Page Script Test (NDA Required)

Finalists selected from Phase 1 will be invited to complete a one-page "Work-for-Hire" script test to see how our creative visions align.

• The Work: A 1-page script provided by the studio to be fully inked, and lettered. Colored is OPTIONAL.

• Upfront Compensation: Selected finalists will be paid $50.00 USD UPFRONT via Zelle, Paypal, or CashApp. Payment is issued before work begins to ensure total security for the artist.

• Privacy & Rights: Due to the confidential nature of our productions, a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required. All Phase 2 work is considered Work-for-Hire, with all official rights retained by Crooked Tree Comics.
