Good tablet for good price?

I've been thinking about getting a tablet for very basic stuff. I want it for basic media like YouTube and Jellyfin. Also for note taking like obsidian and using Musuora App (drumeo). I don't want something super cheap that will stutter or not work in 2 years but I also don't need super high tech. any recommendations? I'm in Canada, So I think Chinese brands are hard to get hereMaybe no more than $500cad ($360US)

Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7 2025 android 16 update

Latest OS update is ZUI 17.5.10.057 android 16

Before I was in ZUI 17.0.04.184 android 15

The latest update came on March 11, 2026 and I'm already late for the party.

There are a lot of improvements since I updated and here are some off the top of my head:

PROS:

  1. Read/ Writes to my sd card got quicker all of a sudden

  2. Floating windows are more smoother and can be minimized extremely

  3. The reddit app improved for me, I had this problem where scrolling on the sides weren't possible because the posts were all narrow. Now its still narrow but I can scroll on the dead areas now

  4. Toggleable landscape mode options for each app

  5. When you go to home, the floating apps DO NOT DISAPPEAR FINALLY, i had this problem for a long time and now its fixed. Sometimes they still disappear though when I access the settings menu.

  6. Larger grid available for homescreen (old one was too small)

  7. The small game bar option on the side that shows up when you're playing a game is finally gone (good riddance)

  8. Floating app manager gives you an option to set each app to resize freely or proportionally

  9. Minimize and Close is available for each active app on the top

CONS:

  1. The cool charging screensavers are gone 😦

  2. Private space has this problem where if you opt to use a different login i.e. number combination or 4-16 digit, the keyboard won't ever show up so you can't go in

  3. The option to disable physical keyboard combos are gone. i.e. before i could disable Alt+Tab because it was causing problems for me, now that option is gone.

  4. Noticeable lag when doing backspace on the touchscreen keyboard (gboard) when using the search bar in the settings menu

OVERALL, it's a good update, most of the nitpicks i had from android 15 are gone and made me love this tablet even more.

I just wanted to write this down as a log of some sort. Thanks for reading 😁.

I'm experienced lenovo legion Y700 3rd gen (2025) + stylus user, ask questions.

Even past many time people still have interest in this device, so...

I will directly answer all the questions about legion Y700 3rd gen tablet (snapdragon 8 gen 3, 12gb ram). I also have a lenovo stylus, so you can also ask about drawing. Content consumption, gaming, how to deal with Chinese rom if you are not Chinese / English native and so on.

Ask anything!

Fraud Alert - Tabwee and Blackview

Blackview has been caught defrauding consumers over both the RAM and storage in its Tabwee T50 tablets. Not only do the T50s have less RAM and storage than advertised, Blackview hacked the tablets to fool diagnostic software. Read the details.

Blackview and Tabwee are two brands that I will NEVER TRUST.

Are there any downsides to gaming using the S11 as a monitor via a wired connection utilizing the Super Display program?

I mean with the proper set up this is essentially a 120hz HDR OLED display at around 1440p resolution. I'm already interested in the tablet but this would make it an amazing purchase in my eyes. Based off my research it isn't exactly clear, there's a lot of adjacent answers but none as direct as I'd like addressing my use case that I could find.

I appreciate any answers :-)

Do they even make good 9 inch tablets anymore?

I need a newer model 9 inch tablet with good touch polishing for a game I play. The one I have is currently not functioning as it should on my current tablet. I prefer ~9 inch tablets because anything bigger is too big. Preferably with a headphone jack, as well. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Please help me find the right tablet

So, I want a tablet with small dimensions (9 inches max) and decent power for some light emulation for PS2, GameCube and lower.

The ideal candidate would be Legion Tab Gen 3, but it's completely out of stock in the US.

For context, next month I'm going to Las Vegas and LA (I'm not from US), so I would like to get a tablet within the budget of $300~$400.

Is that at all viable? Which would be the best candidates, with availability in large retailers like Best Buy?

Thanks!

16:10 VS 4:3 aspect ratio, comics

s10 plus vs honor magic pad 4...i cant decide.

spec wise the magic pad 4 is better but apparently youll need to scroll on the pad to the bottom vs a whole page naturally displaying?

ir seems like most people prefer ipads for reading that ratio but isnt it annoying having to scroll to the bottom of the page?

the higher brightness and the ppi is great on the honour...the 16:10 is very tall....it seems it will technically show 1cm more...yet when i used a ipad pro as an example even though i had to hit fit to page which resulted in scrolling the image itself was more natural.

ive used a ipad 11 inch air so far and that was fine no black bars, i just cant decide

Help me choose a tablet please?

I have the Galaxy Tab A7 which is solely used for media consumption. I had it for more that 5 years now and is in need of replacing as battery is not keeping up and the thing that is bothering me most is that whenever the charging cable is attached, phantom touches will make the tablet useless until it charges back up, even if I am only watching Netflix with locked screen.

Can you help me find a budget tablet that would last me a few good years for media consumption please? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Question, Can I plug a SS tab with Dex into a monitor and use a Xbox controller and play at full screen???

I’ve always wanted to try this but now I have some money to buy a good tablet. But some games are mobile only. Can I hook up a tablet to a monitor using dex and a wired Xbox controller and play on a 27 inch screen?

Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen4 Setting Language to English Issues, Windows Floating Panel issue and Potential Fixes

I have made this comment in someone's post but figured I should make a separate post for those who comes after too by all means these are only methods I tried as of

[ Disclaimer ]

Just to clarify the following content involves some experience on using USB Debugging, ADB or potentially Shizuku. Personally I did not experience any data loss due to the harmless nature of these processes. However, it is advisable that you research these carefully before proceeding and make sure to backup any important data just in case. These are tested on:

April 10th 2026 — ZUX OS 1.5.10.117 on TB322FC Android 16.

[ Notes on CN Rom Bugs ]

I am on CN Official Rom but few things I discovered to have ui breaking bugs include any installed apps language from playstore or anywhere can sometimes set to Chinese despite the device settings set to English and also, Recent Menu wont work on a custom Launcher.

[ Affected Apps Behavior ]

As for the language, two known example of affected apps are Duolingo and Gemini where it rendered the app unusable due to the app UI being glitchy / frozen from rapidly switching between EN and CN. Another app I find affected is Mixplorer where some in-app festures listed in Chinese despite the language being English.

[ Potential Fix Guides will be in the comments ]
