Genuine question, not rage bait. From all of the posts that I read here, it seems that the quality has gone to crap, customer service is nonexistent, non-stop shipping issues, social media/marketing is tone deaf, and company policies are basically there to piss people off (ie return policy/tag issues). And style-wise it’s still the same issues, too cropped, too baggy, sizing is all over the place, and on and on.

So genuinely curious, what is keeping people spending money here?

I placed an order online and one of the garments came without tags and was a bit wrinkly (possibly worn). I attempted to return that product without success, due to AEO’s policy of not accepting returns without tags. We explained the situation to an associate in the store as well as two online customer support associates and were essentially told it’s not possible for something to not have tags on it. We’re not lying to them and are being honest — there were no tags on it when it arrived and it looked worn. We even kept other items from the same order and have purchased things in the past as well. Anyways, does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations or has anyone else experienced this? Thank you!

Has anyone ever received anything dirty when buying online? I order all the time with no issues but I received a white skort with feces in the crotch area. Definitely not happy about it. I messaged through chat and I don't know if it was AI or a person but they're like oh that's not stellar and are having me return it through the mail. So gross!

What discounts are you guys getting? I just logged in, and I got an extra 30% off! Which is not bad, I was hoping for 35% lol.

Update: If you order on the app there is a code that stacks with the sale! The app code gives you an extra 30% off.

I am trying to return an item from an online order. I didn't know the return policy changed. Item is unworn with tags on. I would exchange for a different size but due to the style no item will fit. I have been a long time customer and frequently shop there. I am willing to take literally anything in retun ex store credit for what I paid or current selling price. However, current selling price is still price and more than I paid so I'm fine with just getting what I paid for. Does anyone know of any stores in Chicago suburbs who may be a little more lenient with the return policy? They say the system locks up but I know a manager can override it.

I already tried woodfield mall and chatting online with customer service. They would not offer me literally anything. I'd even take a $5 coupon at this point.

They just said "check out deals we have on items online"

Is UNiDAYS no longer stackable with whatever sale is going on? I haven’t ordered something is like a little over a month and didn’t have an issue then. With the current sale, I can’t use the UNiDAYS one on top.

This is the third time that this has happened to me. The past three orders that I’ve gotten from American Eagle have absolutely REEKED of smoke to the point that I can smell the package from another room. And when I open them the clothes smell like cigarettes too. This is unacceptable especially since I have chronic health issues and I’m very very sensitive to smoke. Just catching a whiff of the package each of the three times had me coughing and my chest felt so tight. None of my other packages from other brands ever smell like this. It’s just American Eagle. What is happening?!?! There’s some things that I’ve been so excited to buy and they’re finally on sale, but I can’t order them because it’s just gonna stink like cigarettes.

According to the AE jean sizing chart I should be a 12 or 14. I'm currently quite comfy in an AE skinny jean size 10 (bought ~2 years ago) and an AE boyfriend jean size 8 (bought maybe 10 years ago). 8s and 10s are what I'm wearing in other brands/styles as well.

I am 5'4", 145 lbs, waste is 32", largest part of my hips (my ass) is 40".

So WTF do I buy???
