Altered Re:Union officially incorporates as a nonprofit Published by Altered ReUnion on May 7, 2026
Altered Re:Union incorporated as a nonprofit association under French loi 1901 as a major step toward supporting the game going forward as Equinox winds down operations. Building a nonprofit association allows the team to act as a recognized legal entity and enter into agreements, as well as hold and manage assets. As Equinox winds down its services May 20, Altered Re:Unionwill be working with Board Game Arena to keep online play available with full access to all commons and rares for all players.

InvictaGC's Altered Challenge League (Play as often as you want)
Hi all. I run a TCG/board game community called InvictaGC. The site's aim is to support out-of-print & indie TCGs (and, apparently now Altered is both).
InvictaGC is at the stage now where, basically, if we were a LGC, the doors would be open, and the tables would be available for free play. I've put up a bunch of what I'm calling "Challenge Leagues". Basically, you sign-up on the website, and you can challenge another Altered player. Once the match is over, report the result, and the scores update automatically. There is no minimum number of games, no maximum. You can play as often as you would like.
The intent is to build up to the point where we are running a regular league night (like Pokemon League). Right now, besides launching the "Challenge League", I run monthly turn-based tournaments on BGA. The first one is a Singleton called Asgarth Grand Prix (currently running), and registration is open for the first IGC Altered Championships Series event, the IGC May Cup (https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=558071).
All games (for now) are being played on BGA. But if there's enough interest, I can work on supporting webcam play as well.
If you are interested, visit InvictaGC at http://www.invictagc.com, or join the Discord at http://www.invictagc.com/discord
Thanks for giving me a minute of your time.
New video on world champ card
I saw the recent video on the altered YouTube channel and it was about a new card made with the world champion from last year. What does it say about altered’s future?
What is this card/ what does it do?
Someone I know got this card and I have no clue what it does (The picture is from https://www.reddit.com/r/alteredTCG/comments/1oxhqhu/4_tokens_on_one_card/ because I didn't have a picture.)
Getting in late - what's worthwhile to pick up?
Played a few demos of Altered back in November. Liked the game, but not enough to invest into it alongside two other TCGs (Pokemon, Star Wars Unlimited), especially as a family of four.
What piqued my interest was the 'keep it as a board game' mindset, not so much the full TCG experience of ripping packs, homebrewing decks and an OP scene. I would probably would have bought some starter decks then and there but they only had one of the BtG decks available.
Now that the game is being discontinued, product has been going on clearance sale at my FLGS; BtG decks for less than €6 each. Booster boxes for several sets as well.
What's worth picking up? Do any sets or decks jump out? They are also offering sets of Commons for €9, is that worth it?
This would still mainly be for kitchen table play. There is a local community, but the question remains how long FLGS is willing and able to support by holding events.
Unique Generator?
Now that there won't be any new explanations, has anybody made / reverse engineered the Unique Generation process? I want to make sealed to play with a friend, but want to continue having new uniques so that each play is a bit different. I figure if the two of us generate 2 fair random uniques for each time we play sealed, we can easily sleeve a card and print the unique in paper and stick it in the sleeve. 4 uniques easily fit on a single page that we can cut out.
Does a unique generator exist? Or will I need to pull random existing uniques and call it good enough?
Help creating a "Battle Box"
Hey there,
I bought my six starter decks two years ago and haven’t had a chance to play them (the birth of my son). Now that the game is being discontinued, I want to preserve a kitchen-table “Battle Box,” so I need your help. The product is in English, but I’m based in Germany.
Battle Box:
- Magnetic cardboard box with space for 6–8 deck boxes, some tokens, and playmats
- The feel should be board game–esque, with some nice accessories
Decks:
- Fun to play (starter decks from other games can feel slow and boring)
- Balanced against each other, not necessarily the highest-impact decks
Plan (so far — 4-player kitchen-table tournaments are the goal):
- Build upon the six starters and upgrade them with cards from booster displays, or (if possible) buy playsets to improve the decks
- 2 XXL playmats
- 2 premium adventure trackers
- 2 token sets
- Sleeves specific to each deck
- Foil hero cards (found some cheap ones on German eBay)
Questions:
- Do later sets drastically change or improve the gameplay, and should I include them?
- How would you upgrade the starter decks within the limits of the first set?
- Given the distribution model, is it realistic to get most cards/playsets out of two booster displays, or will duplicates be an issue?
- Hero tokens look nice, but I’d only use one of each set — any alternatives?
- Are there more than 18 heroes? Maybe I should build three Battle Boxes :)
Thank you for your help :)
