Getting in late - what's worthwhile to pick up?
Played a few demos of Altered back in November. Liked the game, but not enough to invest into it alongside two other TCGs (Pokemon, Star Wars Unlimited), especially as a family of four.
What piqued my interest was the 'keep it as a board game' mindset, not so much the full TCG experience of ripping packs, homebrewing decks and an OP scene. I would probably would have bought some starter decks then and there but they only had one of the BtG decks available.
Now that the game is being discontinued, product has been going on clearance sale at my FLGS; BtG decks for less than €6 each. Booster boxes for several sets as well.
What's worth picking up? Do any sets or decks jump out? They are also offering sets of Commons for €9, is that worth it?
This would still mainly be for kitchen table play. There is a local community, but the question remains how long FLGS is willing and able to support by holding events.
