A couple of weeks ago I managed to pick up a new project.
It's missing some details which I want to add, but it's just going to have an M249 gearbox inside, which I have ready, and trying to find some 50 cal inert link to hide the feed mechanism.
I am sort of tempted to buy one of the budget 249s with the plastic body and make that fit inside, I'm not sure yet.
The pintle and tripod will be relatively straightforward as I have access to all the kit and materials to make that.
I think job 1 is to sort the pintle and tripod.
what are the most cursed items you have seen browsing the second hand market?

CONTEXT: I just bought my first rifle, an Umarex HK 416 AEG, and I want to camouflage it for my kit that I’m building, which is going to be (hopefully) fully Flecktarn, but if I can’t find something in Flecktarn I’ll settle for RG.
So, in order to camouflage my rifle, I want to do either rattle can stripes or sponge, or maybe a combination of the two. I’m most likely going to do sponge, or maybe a marriage between the two with a stripe or one-tone base and sponge layers on top of it, but I was curious what more experienced airsofters thought of my idea, as I really only have one friend in the community and he hasn’t gone for a couple years, so he said he couldn’t accurately tell me since it’s been so long.
Long story short, how should I paint my rifle? Also, what color attachments should I get to match the rifle, and should I paint those too? )I’m getting a laser light combo and a red dot.)
P.S. I will be painting my polymer mags to match when I get them.
My first airsoft gun of this type. I know there aren't many, but any suggestions for accessories?
Got a silicone holder ski mask coming in with an olive drab cap and some random patches, just gotta pick out the good ones but this is my kit without all the additional things.

Just wanted to share my experience.
Talked to two veterans a while back and both of them swore this is the only thing that actually works.
Picked it up, used it at a few events, shared with my teammates (including one day with light rain), and we had mosty ZERO fogging.
Spray it on the inside in the morning, wait like 5 seconds, wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth (not the one in the package, that one is trash), and you're good to go.
Is there someone with the same experience who can confirm?

I see so many gear pics of people in Russian kit of many different kinds. Although I don’t have one (yet) I get the AK platform I like them too, but I don’t understand why so many people in the us would want to roll play as the Russian military. No hate. You do you. Maybe I’m missing something I just don’t get it.
