Just got my hands on a power tank

Hoping i could use it with my fx, but it doesnt work, with either of the batteries or a loopback plug. I didn't think it would need any programming?

edit: 2015 modular FX, power tank is a take off from an 2024 SR

'23 Zero S for $5300 with 1100mi on it. Should I buy?

I love to ride motorcycles but I've never though to shop for an electric bike even though I kind of want one because I assumed they were all too expensive. I ran across this one and thought that it's not a bad deal but I don't really know. After a bit of research, I find that it only has a range of maybe 80mi and charge time of 5 hours, is that correct? Well, that's going to make me think if I really need it now. Does that seem like a good deal?

Also what about spare parts? Batteries? Is there an actual aftermarket ecosystem to buy spares?

Thanks for the info everyone.

Electric motorcycles work great with kids.

Took my 6 year old daughter for a ride around the neighborhood and some quiet roads for like 20 minutes. She’s a little mini me so she loved it! I got her a safety harness that hooks her right up to me. Electric bikes work great with passengers. You can hear and talk to them easily, no hot exhaust to worry about, and my daughter also has a little pink electric bike that she is really good on that I’ve been riding my bicycle together with her and maybe I can trail her in this. I couldn’t have done that with my last loud Triumph.

Zero dsr 2018 charge tank question

Just bought a used 2018 dsr with a charge tank, and in my area we have usually two options for type-2 charging.

1-phase 230v 32A and 3-phase 400v 32A.

Can I use the 3-phase stations or do I have to stick to the 1-phase ones?

Looking for Friends & Chargers - June Cross Country Road Trip

Reddit, I am planning a cross-country road trip on my 2020 SR/F in early June. I've attached my rough route above. In general, I plan to go NYC → St. Louis → Southern Colorado → Moab/Salt Lake City → Portland → San Francisco.

  1. Does anyone live in the area I've circled and would be willing to let me charge at your personal charger? Using PlugShare, I can't find a way to go directly from Utah to San Franscio using the available chargers and maintaining a reasonable speed.

  2. If anyone would like to meet up to ride a section together or just chat while charging, that would be great. This route is still flexible, especially in the West, so I'd be happy to divert a bit.

I can share this Google Maps list and my exact dates if anyone DM's me.

My 2015 zero fx batteries are shot. I don't know where to go from here. I love my bike when it's working but it's been a major pain most of my ownership. Some research suggests that the 2015 batteries, especially the modular ones, were kind of garbage and the newer ones are just improved. Do you guys agree?

Hi all. I'm currently riding a 2018 Zero DSR mostly as a commuter in San Francisco, and it's great for ducking in and out of traffic, lane splitting, etc. I've no desire for more power, but at 6'4 (long torso) I do crave a little more cockpit space, and am curious about doing some light touring with access to fast chargers.

I've looked at a 2023 Zero DSR/X which solves both problems, but not sure I want an extra ~200lb on my city commuter. Any thoughts on whether the weight reduces fun or manoeuvrability? Would I be better off looking at e.g. an SR/F?

Appreciate any thoughts.

I’m in my 40s looking at a zero. I’ve never had a motorcycle before and have very limited experience driving one. Should I make the jump and buy one or has my time already passed? Thanks for any insight!!

Might need straighter roads

Racked up 14k commuting miles on my Zero DS on the OEM Metzler, 50% on city streets. I frequently do the SMIDSY weave which might explain the wear. I’m just glad to finally mount more street-oriented rubber and see if range improves.

Hi all, I am purchasing a 2022 ZR 14.4+ which has had all the upgrades unlocked. From reading info online, this would push the power to the same levels as a SR/F, but having test ridden an SR/F prior to the SR, I noticed the SR with upgrades is slightly less torquey. Same ride modes were used on both.

Is this normal? Should I expect the same performance as the SR/F?

Thanks
