Playlists

Hi,

I’ve just made the switch from Spotify to YouTube music. The main reason why is I listen to a lot of music, and I hit the 10k song download limit on Spotify, and after researching I settled on YouTube music since (from what I read) there’s no limit to the number of songs you can download.

But I’m having a few issues and the main things I’m finding really annoying is regarding playlists.

  1. If I want to add a song to multiple playlists I have to do it one by one, instead of being able to select multiple playlists at once.

  2. I can’t search for a playlist in my library, I have to scroll through and find it every time whether it’s when I’m adding a song to playlists or looking for one of my playlists to listen to.

  3. There’s no easy way to deselect which playlist(s) a song is in, I have to scroll through the playlist to find it and manually delete it from the playlist if I want to remove it.

  4. For my liked music (well for all playlists, but I get most annoyed in my liked music) there’s no way to reorder it (like from a-z, or from first added to most recently added songs).

I listen to a lotttt of music & a lot of different genres, so I have a lot of songs saved and I have a lot of different playlists.

For the issues I’m having- is there something I missed and I’m actually able to do it? If not, have they talked about planning to add any of these features soon?

Thanks

Is there a way to disable the feature that automatically ads the song you're listening to, to the last playlist you added a song to, when you hit 'add to playlist'?

If I, say, listen to a rock song, and click 'add to playlist' to put it in a rock playlist, then listen to a blues song, and want to put it in a blues playlist, and hit 'add to playlist' it just automatically puts it in the rock one because I just added something there. Is there a way to turn this off?

how to find 2024 recap playlist in 2026?

anyway to find previous youtube music recaps of past years...for now i can only see the 2025 one and the most recent seasonal one....

these recaps often act as time capsules so would be really nice if they would remain in your library....

Song transfer

I want to transfer to Yt music from Spotify but my spotify playlist has over 2.5k songs and I cannot pay for premium. Is there any way to do it for free?

Why on earth are the subtitles turning on? I have them turned off in settings.

It doesn't happen in all the videos, but it does in many, and I don't understand why! It's so annoying. There's absolutely no reason why they should be activated if I've disabled them in the settings. It's ridiculous. It's really stupid. This mistake has been around for a while and they haven't fixed it.

Youtube music auto mix is terrible for me but I’m unsure if it’s just my issue.

So for context, I could put on something like gnaw by Alex G and the next song would be some random phonk or hardstyle song. I’ve never even listened to that type of music before and youtube just decides "yea its close enough add it to the queue". Its becoming really annoying since I cant just enjoy a regular mix I always need to hand pick them.

And before any of yall start saying "just make a playlist", I do have some but sometimes I want to listen to something else. I listen to music alot so my playlist quickly become repetitive.

Im not sure if I’m the only person with this issue so if anyone could give me their experience with it that would be amazing.

What did I do T-T

I think I hit a button yesterday and it changed the display, I know I‘ve done it before and was able to undo it, but I cannot remember how

the symbols at the top of the screen look different, and the Queue, Lyrics, and Whatever The Third One Was, are in different places instead of along the bottom

this is on my iPad if that is important.

Music gets muted when I skip songs on my browser (Chrome)

Hello, I’ve been using ytm for a couple of months. Im not gonna lie, my experience has been shit, user interface is a nightmare, playlist having a limit of songs is wild and stupid, I want to die every time I attempt to organize playlists and I don’t understand why the f are video and music playlists mixed. All of this I’ve endured because I already have premium, ytm definitely sounds better and I don’t want to give money to the Zionist/racist green app but Im about to drop it and switch to apple because of this freaking bug.

Please tell me there’s a solution, I beg you. If not I’m gone.

Different artists, same name, same profile

I'm not sure how they effed up this bad, but today I got a notification that said a band i liked dropped a new single... When I listened to it, I immediately knew it wasn't them. Checked the profile, and it's a mix of different artists under the same name, sharing a single YT Music profile.

How does this even happen?
