gym constantly limiting check ins / tiers

So frustrating… I won’t name names but the gym I go to in NYC is on Gold and about a month ago limited check- ins to 10 then went down to 8. Now they’re moving to platinum starting June 1st. So frustrating!!! I’m thinking this is a gym-specific issue not Wellhub but still needed to rant

Wellhub competitor in NYC??

I was talking with my friend at the office and she mentioned a new membership opening in nyc with access to premium studios. It sounds super similar to wellhub but you don't need to go through insurance. I just checked out their site (it's https://arcana.fit/ ) and it seems legit but wondering if anyone has heard anything about it?

Club Studio Fitness through wellhub

Wondering how were you able to sign up for Club Studio Fitness through Wellhub (wondering since it doesnt have classes or much information on the app for me and just says go to the front desk to talk to them)? Did you physically go to the gym to sign up first time and then you get an account to book classes via the Club studio app? thanks!

App keep logging you out?

Does anyone else’s app log you out almost daily? Everytime I go to check into a class, I have to reenter my email and password

Studio cancelled my class and I lost my premium check in for the day.

My class at Barry’s got canceled this morning 10 mins before the start time and I reached the studio not knowing about it.
Other than the unacceptable mismanagement, wellhub really has been annoying about it by making it impossible for me to reach them.
I am using wellhub as a dependent and it feel its unnecessary that only the primary user can reach support. Like what is the purpose of this restriction?

Hey friends! I recently moved to NYC and am thinking of signing up for some SoulCycle classes. I’d love recommendations for beginner friendly classes, instructors, or studios.

For context, I’ve never taken a spin class before. I’m reasonably fit, but not super athletic, and I’m a little nervous about being way out of my depth, so I’d especially appreciate recs for instructors who are good for first timers. I live in Midtown East, so the closest studios for me would be E 54th St and Bryant Park, but I’m happy to go to a different studio too if there’s a class/instructor that’s especially worth it.

Thanks!

P.S. Feel free to drop any advice you might have for a first timer in the comments too!

Can I give a date of when I want it canceled or does it just automatically cancel? The prices are out of control, I rather pay for unlimited Solidcore and Orange Theory directly. I have a Solidcore membership and buy extra classes, I’m excited about this move.

Can I go to the gym and a standard class on the same day?

Anyone know if I can go to a gym like Lifetime and a standard class on the same day or can I only do that if it’s a premium class?

Every time I try to access the wellhub app today & yesterday I am logged out! Minor problem but quite annoying when I’m trying to check in/book classes, is anyone else having this issue?

Does this happen to anyone? Lately every time I go to check in my class and open the Wellhub app I have to sign into my account again and it’s really frustrating especially when I am running into a class.

After 35 check ins and about 2.5 months of use, I missed a check in on the app for a class I attended. I took a phone call after the workout and didn't see the reminder check in text until it was too late.

I used the chat feature and quickly was given a first-time pass on the missed check in.

I have to say despite all the negative things instead here, I absolutely love this app and the customer service so far. I would've paid the fee (because it was my fault), and I really appreciate the one-time waiver.

Trying so many new programs has been a game changer for my health and fitness as well.

So thanks, Wellhub!

I woke up to all my classes at solidcore cancelled for the next 2 weeks. I went in and rebooked to what was still open and all the bookings were declined. Anyone have any insight?

I am wondering if I need to get a subscription to be able check-in to earn points for this challenge?

Hi there everyone!

As mentioned already in the title, F45 just arrived in Brazil as a Wellhub partner and, after seeing ya’ll talking about it here for so long, I’m very excited to go try it! So I’m here to ask some long-term members some advice.

I’m just curious about the classes. What are they usually like? Is it functional training like a crossfit thing? Do they have different classes or is it standard?

I previously shared a bit of my daily routine here (feel free to check out the original post). Since I have a packed schedule, I’m really drawn to the efficiency of a high-intensity workout in just 45 minutes! I’d love to hear any advice or insights from the community on what to expect before I head in for my first session.

*so many studios!

I am a new member in NYC - so many of the studios I look at have a message like: "Before visiting, you must reserve a class in advance using the schedule on the studio's Wellhub page", but then there is no "View Schedule" button for that studio. What do I do? This is the case for so many studios in Manhattan.

For the Diamond plan, is it 4x per week or 16x per month total, with 4x max per week. Put another way, if I don't use my 4x classes in week 1, do I lose those 4 classes or do I still have them to use before the month ends in week 2 to week 4?

If I upgrade from a digital plan to a starter plan does anyone know if I get the same amount of check ins per day? Right now I’m only allowed 1 daily with the digital plan, but if the amount increases I will definitely upgrade my plan.

Signed up for Wellhub to access one specific gym. Silver Tier ($89/mo). Checked in day one, no issues.

Day two I show up and I’m locked out. Overnight they moved my gym to a higher tier (Gold) with zero notice (no email, no in-app notification, nothing). Because I had used it the day before successfully, my internal membership with the gym had gotten set up. Gym didn’t recognize the issue.

Gym scanned me in, and then I get informed that I gotta pay the gym membership and an annual fee ($299.99 + $200) but no big deal because “it’s an issue that Wellhub will sort out” according to the concierge that has been dealing with them a lot lately. They scan my card, it rings up as $0 because Wellhub, and it’s all good.

Turns out it’s not all good. Wellhub ended up declining access to the gym and when I tried upgrading, the gym simply disappeared from Gold and re-appeared in Titanium Tier, so I’m looking at crazy fees for a gym I would’ve otherwise never gone to in the first place. Nothing is stopping them from doing this indefinitely either, you could keep upgrading tiers for a gym and they are under zero obligation to ever tell you when it moves.

Getting in touch with customer service or any actual human was not easy, and even so I was only able to get one email response to a ticket that was generated via their chat bot. I had honestly asked for a reasonable resolution, maybe be grandfathered the access or at the very least ride out the month I paid for, get proper notice, then make an informed decision.

Instead they just built a little fort out of their terms and conditions and cancelled my account icing me out of the loop. So I guess this is more of a PSA that Wellhub can change their pricing, their tiers, your access, your account/membership, etc. without having to tell you. Their terms of service exist to protect them, not you.

TL;DR: Wellhub moved my gym to a higher tier overnight without notice, I got hit with fees, and when I contacted support they cancelled my account without letting me know and called it resolved.
