Just inherited hundreds of limited edition/collector Barbie’s. What are the most sought after? Or advice on how to find that?

Hey y’all! I have just inherited hundreds of collector/limited edition Barbie’s. Ranging from holiday Barbie’s to things like Merlin and Morgan le Fay. Most are in great condition and none of them have ever been taken out of the box. Just looking to see what the most sought after Barbie’s might be and maybe if there’s even anyone in this subreddit who would be interested in buying some of them? Thanks!

If this breaks community rules, I apologize I’m just not really sure where to start!

More pics of the Barbie I won in an auction - ID help pls

I posted her last night in the (really faded) Enchanted Evening dress. It was estimated she is 1960 #3 or 4. Pics of the mark on her butt were requested. Thank you all for helping!

All the clothes that you see were made by me in the past year.

About 16 months ago I was having a really bad depressive episode and was searching for something to take me out of it and find a reason to be. I got inspired by Hextian, Disney Barbie Girl and Doe Deer Wonderland , remembered my childhood love for fashion dolls and started buying tlc Barbies like crazy.

Within a month I had my doll room, with more than 200 dolls, a sewing machine , a ton of fabric and decided to learn something completely unknown to me.

With the input from the doll collecting community, and the support of my friends and family (even though some of them found my new hobby rather creepy at first) I have to admit that Barbie’s and the feeling of being creative and remembering my childhood play made me start needing therapy less and less (even though still on my meds) and I’m in such a happier place!!!

Just gratitude for my dolls and all of you that gave me even the slightest input🫶🏻☺️

Painted her lash line and lips, and re-styled her hair. So happy with how she turned out. The white paint she had on her lips, I don’t think it was original because the shape seemed off, but it was so stubborn to get off her lips and I couldn’t even get all of it off. I had to make a match for her skin tone and paint over the white before repainting over *that* with pink. So I think you can see a little bit of work on the lips, but I don’t think it’s too obvious.

Any advice or tips on how to restore my vintage Barbies hairs

Hi everyone

I am working on attempting to restore my vintage Barbie dolls. At the moment I wanting to attempt to get my 1983 Crystal Barbie and my 1992 Totally Hair Barbie hair restore as close to their style as possible and would like some advice or suggestions on how to restore their hair.

I have washed and gently brushed(as I didn’t want to brush out want left of her crimps) my Totally Hair Barbie’s hair not long after I got her and have more recently very gently brushed her again.

I really want to if possible to recrimpping  her.

As for my Crystal Barbie I have not really touched her hair as I didn’t want to risk messing her hair up as it seemed to be in its original style just needs some  TLC.

So if anyone has any suggestions or tips on how to restore my dolls hair it be greatly appreciated.

I will post update photos when I have made some progress on restoring my dolls.

well see you all in my next post.

Hope you love them as much as I do 🥰 the scarf on Caribbean cruise is made by the amazing Etsy seller I found it from.

Anyone seen this before?

I just bought this talking barbie head and discovered this green stuff. it looks very similar to green ear, but funny thing is there's no green on either of her ears? it's just the scalp and a little on her hair. it's still a little sticky, I've personally never seen the green on the scalp before. is this common or does anyone know why? thanks!

Hello vintage barbie lovers,

I need your help with ID-ing this doll.

I’ve found her at the thriftstore on a 2000’s body and I saw this vintage looking body laying next to her. But I have a feeling they don’t go together even tho it’s mattel. The head is very loose and the body feels very light. The neck is also very thin.

Is this some weird Europe concoction they made or do I have 2 completely different dolls? I am in Europe so, thats what I thought initially.

Ive put a picture of another doll I’ve found at the thrift store for reference. If you need more pictures, please ask me :)

Thanks in advance.

Edit: the body appears to be a barbie 7382 1979 European exclusive.
