Been running a Thermion 2 XQ35 for a year and a half and finally wanting to upgrade. I’m torn between the H75R and the S60R. I have a 2x base mag scanner and I’m hunting in the Post Oak Savannah region in Texas. Mostly prairie and pasture land. I have the opportunity for 250-300 yards regularly and rarely shoot under 100. Am I missing out on the 1280 on the S60R by going with the higher base mag on the H75R?

Cheap reactive thermal target. Amazon Winco 12”x18”x1” polyethylene plastic cutting board. Black parts on the board is foil. Have about 80 rounds in it and will show impacts for 10 min plus. They have 1/2” for $7.50, not sure how long the impacts would last on a 1/2” thick board but for $7.50 kinda hard to beat.

I built this ridiculous and awesome thing to deal with the coyotes in my backyard.

We live just on the edge of the suburbs in a heavily wooded neighborhood with all woods behind my house and lately the coyotes have gotten so bold as to be on my lower deck and in the driveway.

After a quick check of laws and regulations I can legally shoot centerfire on my property but as the old passage goes “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”. So my usual AR coyote rigs were deemed a bit un neighborly to touch off at midnight in the neighborhood, even suppressed.

So I built this day of the jackal 2.0 esque “thing” starting with a CVA Scout in 300blk with a Farrow Tech brace adapter, Sig folding brace, Silencerco Omega and a NOCPIX S50.

It is both hilariously quiet and accurate, getting around 1MOA at 100yds with 220grn Federal subsonic and with the impact of the bullet being several times louder than the report of the gun.

194grn Maximum Expansion Subsonics from Underwood have already bagged two coyotes this spring and they have grown noticeably shyer around my house in recent months ;) I can also remark that the bullets performed beautifully and as advertised and I am planning on using them on a hog or deer soon.

I found a good deal on a Sig Tango 6T

I currently have the RH25v2 as a standalone… originally was going to try and run my EOtech red dot and 3x magnifier on it, but could not get the setup to align… maybe its the current mounts utilized by each units, but i sort of tabled it and just ran the thermal by itself.

I’ve come to the realization that i’d like to put an lpvo on it, so my daughter can use it for her first deer without the thermal. which brings me full circle to the mount…

Does anyone know if the mount that comes with the tango 6t will work with the mount on the rh25 ? or if anyone is running that setup and changed the mounts let me know which will work so i’m not on a goose chase haha

Has anyone spent proper time behind both units and can give a solid comparison on image quality (NETD, contrast, detail retention in poor conditions, etc.)?

Primary use is long-range spotting of deer in challenging environments (rain, fog, high humidity). Which unit actually holds up best when conditions deteriorate?

Also, for those running the Merger line:

Is it worth stepping up to the XT50 over the XL50?

On paper the specs look better, but are the gains in detection, identification, and overall image clarity noticeable in real hunting scenarios – or just marginal?

Any input from real-world use would be appreciated.
