First Tesla
I was originally planning on getting a Model 3, but after bringing my sister and mom along for the test drive of both, they convinced me to get the Y. After driving it for the past few weeks, I realized they were right—I’m loving it!

Been tracking Tesla's entire US inventory for a few months now. Some interesting Model Y stats from our database:
I built TeslaTracker to track all of this. Every vehicle shows price history charts, battery health estimates, fair price analysis, warranty status, and hardware version. You can filter by trim, year, color, seating (5/6/7 seat), FSD, and HW version.
It was recently cited by the Wall Street Journal as a data source for Tesla pricing.
Completely free, no paywall.
If you're shopping for a Model Y right now, would love to know what data or features would be most useful for your buying process.
Still looks good IMO
I’m the guy who test drove 14 vehicles before buying my ‘26 MY LR RWD Premium.
In that post I noted the trade-in experience I had with Tesla. I had a ‘20 Civic Si Sedan with only 14.5k original miles, with the only issue being a few small (less than a dime-size) dings on the passenger front and rear doors from parking lot jerks.
Over the course of the two weeks to place my order, my trade-in went from $24k to $23k to $22.6k to finally (after pics) dropping to $22k. This was the same price adjustment offers that CarMax was offering.
Well, I tracked my trade-in by VIN, and it looks like it’s for sale finally for $26,395 from some company called OffLease Orlando (VIN 2HGFC1E59LH706994 for proof). They don’t have official pics up yet, but that’s what I paid brand new off lot for it.
So if Tesla gave me $22k, I wonder if this went to auction and this OffLease place bought it or if they are associated with Tesla? Perhaps they broke even with my trade?
Just something I found interesting. Thanks!
I jumped on the offer of 0.99% APR and $3300 down. I ordered the car and started the paperwork through the app. I start the loan paperwork, I am also trading in my BMW and the trade-in offer will cover what I owe in full… all of a sudden it’s $6000 down…. Weird. I submit the for the loan approval. My credit is in the 800’s, and the only debt I have is my mortgage. I get my paperwork back and now it’s up to almost 9k!! WTF??? I understand that this is credit based but my credit is excellent and debt to income ratio is minimal. It seems shady and I am considering just losing out on the $250 down payment….
Has anyone else experienced this?
MY needs new colors. Here in AZ you will see an MY or M3 every 5th car and they’re the same four colors: black, white, red, gray, with an occasional blue or silver thrown in.
Would it kill Tesla to create additional colors?
I tend to lean my water bottle on this spot and just noticed it rubbed off.
I pick up in 2 days. This is what’s showing right now. Will this change when the review agreements comes up?
It has come a long way but at least IMHO this issue persists when it suddenly brakes when it sees such signs.
Just for more clarification I'm not talking about yellow traffic signal lights. I'm talking about pedestrian crossing 🚸 sign.
So far I've found these 3 sets that are specific to the Model Y Standard. I'm leaning heavily towards the aliexpress one just because of the pure cost difference. I do really like how the Yeslak mats cover the side plastic parts in the front and reat floor mats though. What do you guys think?
This is a picture of a crack in my windshield right under the camera/rearview mirror. I got a maintenance message about outgassing from the adhesive, and then a week or two later, this crack appeared.
Before I schedule maintenance to get it replaced, are there any known cases of the camera mount or adhesive causing a crack in the windshield?
2023 Model Y
Thanks.
Any insight on how much this would cost, or should I not go through insurance? Headlight still fully functions nothing wrong with driving the car
Hi everyone. we are considering getting rid of one of our ICE SUVs my two questions are :
-how tough is it to go with 2 booster seats and a Nuna or comparable slimm(ish) car seat? We won’t do the 7 seater option cause we want the full trunk and also want to stay in the price range of the premium RWD (since our other suv is much larger and 4WD). -also, these interest deals seem insanely consumer friendly in today’s economy but do these deals happen often or is this rare?
We’re excited to step into the EV world and have a more efficient city car in Los Angeles traffic, thanks in advance!
I´ve concluded i dont like the Standard Deceleration and prefer the more natural feel of the reduced setting.
Is it really supposed to be more efficient in heavy traffic or when im going downhill? Are there any concrete advantages on using it, other than having an "easier" drive?
I see Tesla has a very clear note telling using one or another wouldnt affect efficiency.

I just got a 2026 model y performance, which I love! I got white leather (I know, I’m crazy). We’ve been super careful, but unfortunately within a couple of days, a cheap pair of sunglasses of all things got a small amount of blue dye on them, which has been a pain to get out, making me super paranoid for other stains. I know it’s not recommended, but has anyone been able to find a vented seat cover for the front seats? I’m worried about clothing dyes in the future and trying to prevent this from happening again.

Yesterday I build in an enhance commander, knob and leds.
Now my autopilot nag is gone (enhanced version in NL). Also lane changes don't require touching the wheel.
Probably not related, but I have no idea why this behavior changed.
