Made the leap!
Picked up our new ride today. I can snicker at the price at the pump now!

Had my Uncharted GT for almost 2 weeks now. LOVE IT! (Except the shaky headlights lol) today I finally got my front windows and visor tinted. Can’t recommend it enough! Cuts down on heat and just looks great.
Former Chevy Trax owner so I’m not used to having anyone say “cool car”
Does anyone know if there is a way to change a setting and allow Carplay/HDMI input to utilize the entire screen instead of this tiny part of it? It would be nice if it would use the whole thing including inside the temp knobs like the startup screen does…or at least the amount of the screen that the built in navigation is able to extend to with a compact bottom line of climate controls. Has anyone tried this with a car mate adapter thing?
Getting rid of our base Model 3 and leasing a Sport. Very pleased so far!
We got our Sport in Metropolis Gray a couple days ago and love it! Our dog approves too. 😂
We got a great deal, $7,500 under MSRP. We also couldn’t pass up the 0% APR for 72 months. It’s free money!
The car itself is great, but the buying experience with this dealer was not. I negotiated the OTD price over text, which was great. I got pre-approved for the loan and sent them everything they needed ahead of time, but it still took over three hours at the dealership before we finally had documents to sign.
They also prepped the wrong color car, which delayed our scheduled pickup time by a couple of hours, and they delivered the car with only 17% SoC. I had to figure out how to use a Tesla Supercharger before driving home.
If I had to do it over again, I would’ve gone with a different dealer that had better customer service. The extra $500 in savings wasn’t worth all the frustration during signing.
We got these two things that have been useful for our Uncharted. The first is a charger dock and hook to hang the cable. You can find it on Amazon too.
The second one is this silicon charging mat for the wireless chargers. It’s thin enough that it still charges the phones that have silicon cases. It’s more for protection of the plastic charging area as I think our silicon cases are grippier directly on the charging surface.

You may run into issues charging at certain Tesla Superchargers or chargers with short cables. I had to be that asshole and took up two charging spots to charge. Was not able to get my car closer to the charger because of the wheel stop until I re-oriented my car at a slant.
I recommend scoping out and looking at pictures of charge locations if you want to make sure you can charge! I've seen location where there are no wheel stops or places where the charger is on the side of the parking spot.
Workaround: I saw another car that drove on top of the wheel stop to get closer to the charge lol. Would not recommend for obvious reasons.
Another workaround: Looks like there is a company which is making a safe and certified extension cable but looks expensive.
Edit: The new Tesla chargers (V4) might work even with a wheel stop. Will have to try it out.
I just ordered the uncharted GT and had a few questions on things i wasnt able to test on the test drive.
There isnt alot of videos i can find of the uncharted GT and the safety features on it in traffic.
Will this car stop to a complete stop on its own when the vehicle infront also stops at a red light, then once the car infront starts moving. Will it go on its own. Can i just let it do its thing without much guidance from me as the driver?
Like in a normal rush hour city driving type situation where in a normal car. I would be constantly going back and forth on the brake and gas pedal.
Also is there any other cool features on it that isnt talked about?
Edit: i also want to clarify. Im not talking about the car stopping automatically at a red light. Just in a red light scenario with the car infront stopping and going when the light turns red and green.
Have had my GT just over a week and I have put just about 900 miles on. My commute every day is 80 miles round trip and I charge to 80 every night. I am in PA for reference.
I just got my Uncharted GT yesterday. I was looking at the all weather seatback protectors and couldn’t find a Subaru specific one but there is a Toyota CH-R one. Has anyone tried putting the Toyota branded one into their uncharted? I know sometimes there can be small differences between versions that may not allow it to work.

Just picked up this Coastal Wolf Grey Sport yesterday.
Test drove one a couple weeks ago but wanted to wait until after a big trip and my current lease to mature.
When I came back from the trip though both of the Uncharted my local dealer had disappeared. Had to drive two hours away to pick one up.
These are selling fast and I'm absolutely in love with it. A lot more fun to drive than my outgoing Hyundai Ioniq 6.
I already love this car!! So happy it finally arrived! First one in my area. Drives like a dream!
Has anyone else noticed excessive headlight bounce/shake at night on the new 2026 Subaru Uncharted or Toyota C-HR?
After driving mine the night I purchased it, I started noticing that the LED headlights visibly oscillate after bumps instead of stabilizing immediately with the vehicle. Because the projector cutoff is so sharp, it creates a very noticeable bouncing/flickering effect at night that can honestly become distracting while driving.
At first I thought maybe something was loose on my vehicle specifically, but after testing other Uncharted models and seeing similar reports from Uncharted & C-HR owners, this seems more like a platform-wide characteristic rather than an isolated issue.
You can even reproduce it while parked by tapping (simulating a bump on the road) near the front bumper/headlight area while facing a wall or garage door and watching how much the beam pattern continues to shake. Please Give this a try to see if you notice it, once you do, you can’t un-notice it.
I understand some headlight movement is normal with suspension travel, but this feels excessive for a brand new vehicle and noticeably impacts nighttime driving comfort/confidence for me.
I ended up filing an NHTSA complaint so the concern is at least documented and visible if others are experiencing the same thing as well:

Curious how many others have noticed this and whether anyone has received additional feedback from Subaru/Toyota beyond “operating as designed.”
What are you guys doing about front plates? There are no holes in the front bumper! Salesman gave me the front plate holder but he said most choose not to install it? I believe it’s just a fix-it ticket if pulled over, should I just wait until I have to?
Feels so good to finally get our first EV in my family after watching videos about them for a decade now. Thanks to our dealership for not having FWD ones in stock and the GT trim existing to make our Sport trim come the most well equipped a car in our family has :D
Today was the day! I traded my 23 legacy touring XT for the GT… dealer was 98 miles away and here are my first thoughts from the drive back:
Pros:
- Road noise is about the same level as the legacy, maybe a pinch louder since there is no engine noise.
- Handling is really good, on par with the legacy.
- seats are very comfortable and many ways to adjust them.
- The get up and go is incredible!
- infotainment is smooth and responsive, Harmon Kardin sound system is very good and this was one of my must haves.
- Highest level of regen works very close to one pedal driving… if you anticipate stops and slowing down, you won’t need to brake as much if at all.
- instrument cluster is at the perfect viewing position for my 5’ 7” frame.
- Auto wipers works very well.
Cons:
These aren’t so much cons as just something to get used to…
- No glove box, kind of weird but keeps me from hoarding crap I don’t need.
- Instrument cluster could use the ability to be customized a bit more.
- when using the actual brakes they are not as “grabby” as my legacy and need a bit more pressure on a quick stop.
Those are just some of the off the cuff points from drive back from the dealer. After the drive and doing between 70-80 mph, the majority of the ride with the climate on auto, I was at 56% state of charge.
I’m definitely glad I went with the GT for the audio system and ventilated seated.
I feel free to ask any questions and I’ll try and answer.
Just drove home from Subaru of Glendale in my new Coastal Wolf Gray Uncharted Premium. Chose the color unseen and I’m very pleased with the way it looks, very unique. Returned a KIA EV6 and the drive is very comparable with the exception, or the lack of one-pedal driving. Range is comparable, and I’m satisfied with the options included in the basic package, auto-folding mirrors, two wireless charging/carplay, and homelink mirror. Although I can’t connect the garage door opener for some reason, hopefully I can figure it out.
Only negative so far is the app, I thought KIA was bad but this is another level. Can’t lock the car from the app and keeps sending me notifications I disabled. Minor complaints and hopefully functionality will improve.
One more odd thing, I tried to replace the car with AAA, and they don’t have Uncharted in their database yet.
ETA: I guess the app got updated and now I have remote Start/Lock/Unlock feature.
ETAA: Voice recognition in the native navigation so far has been pretty impressive. Tried it thrice and worked every time. I’m so used to previous Subaru iteration being shit, I was pleasantly shocked.
So far love it! Will take some time to get use to.
