Body oils after self tan?

Do oils break town a self tan faster? (After the product is done developing of course). My skin is so dry which I know is unfortunately par for the course with self tanners….. so I’m wondering about adding a body oil to my moisturizing routine. I’ve heard mixed things… that it can break down the tan faster, orrrrrr it can help it last longer bc of the moisture. Anyone with experience? Any specific products? Any insight would be great!!

I have acne scars/enlarged pores on my cheeks, will using fake tan on my face make them more noticeable? Planning on using facial tanning drops. Thanks.

B.tan clear gel removal

Okay so I normally use b.tan “I want the darkest tan possible” mousse, 2 coats overnight and it’s my perfect shade and cooler toned. So I picked up b.tan clear gel, a shade lighter to try. Oh. My. God. It says no gloves required, wash hands, no rinse needed. This is the most patchy, orange, worst tan I’ve had. I went straight to bed and it wrecked my shit. I’ve tried everything to remove it. I exfoliated a ton, then used lemon juice & baking soda. Then I dry brushed, took a bath and used an exfoliating mitt and sugar scrub. Then I used rubbing alcohol, and hair remover after (veet). I think it’s faded the most it could be. I found an ulta 30min away finally with tan remover, but is it even worth purchasing after nothing else removed it? Also, should I just use my normal tanner over it at this point to blend it?

armpits

anyone know how to stop tan from sticking to armpits really badly and making them go crusty, i’m assuming this happens just because of sweat but how do i stop the tan from clinging there

My tan looks evenly applied and doesn’t look patchy, however it is always ORANGE! What do I do?

I have extremely pale skin, I am usually one of the palest foundation shades (Estee Lauder Double Wear shade 1N1). I don’t have pink/cool undertones, more neutral/warm.

I usually go for a Bondi Sands ultra dark 8hr base tan + their tanning moisturiser, but I recently bought the St Tropez Ultra Violet as I thought a tan that wasn’t green might help, but tbh it’s still orange.

I usually buy either a dark/ultra dark tan, because, obviously, I want to be pretty deeply tanned. However, upon a Google search, apparently this may be why I’m turning orange, as my skin is overloaded with DHA? I just feel like a light/medium tan won’t do anything for me, but maybe I’m wrong as I have never tried one!

Also I don’t think my prepping is the issue, as I said in the title my tan is usually really smooth and not patchy. The only thing I think I may change is that I do apply tanner pretty soon after showering (obvs when completely dry though) as I heard that your pH so soon after showering might be causing the DHA to react weirdly. Any experiences with that?

Any thoughts or advice appreciated, thanks!!

tan for vacation

what do you guys do if you have a longer trip planned where you want to be tan? I’m going on a two-week trip this summer. The first part of the trip is on the beach, so I’d like to be tan (I’m naturally very pale) and the second half of the trip will be in the city, but I would still like to be tan.

I would like to avoid scrubbing my tan halfway through the trip and start over, but usually my tans (spray tan or self tan) only last about 7 days before they start to look rough. I moisturize religiously and do all the things but this is always how long they’ve lasted on me.

what are some lower maintenance options that still deliver?

Tan-Luxe The Future. I don’t have a mitt. Can I still use it without a mitt?

On vacation and forgot a mitt. Was going to use The Future to extend my spray tan from 6 days ago. It says to spray on skin and rub with the mitt. What will it look like if I just spray it on and let it dry? TIA

Best olive toned gradual self tanner that’s for VERY dry skin.

I’m looking for a super hydrating luxury daily gradual self tanner. Price isn’t important but the skincare ingredients are.

When I use fake tan on my chest area it always clogs my pores

Whenever I fake tan on my décolletage area I get clogged pores and blackheads that stay until I wash off all my fake tan. Anyone else struggle with this problem and know any solutions?

Why am I so dry?

So I’ve been trying to go back to sunless tanning instead of tanning beds because I’m 25 now and really want to be good to my skin. I used to get spray tans at sun tan city and occasionally self tan constantly when I was a few years younger. At that time, I was able to use different prep creams and lotions but now I am sensitive to toxic chemicals and especially fragrance, so I can’t use the same prep stuff I used to. I notice when I get a spray tan in a booth or use any lotions with DHA, I am so miserably dry. Like no amount of lotion helps and I have researched the best to buy such as the Cerave body lotion in the tub. I’ll even apply multiple times and I’m still so dry. The only lotion that made this never happen to me was this hyaluronic bath and body works lotion that they discontinued yearssss ago and idk why but out of every lotion, that one prevent dryness completely. It was truly magical. I don’t use any tanning prep stuff right now and I just got a PH balancer spray that I haven’t used yet, and I’m wondering if my BH balance is the problem? It is seriously so dry it’s miserable and it takes me getting the tan completely off to finally have some relief.

Help I can’t find info on this anywhere when it comes to self tanner

Hiii, I have basically searched the entire internet for help on this question but cannot find an answer. I know that all self tanner has a weird smell, but I can’t seem to find anyone talking about how it makes them have worse body odor.

I am someone who doesn’t really sweat that much and when I do I don’t really smell. But when I use self tanner it makes my BO so bad. Like literally I can apply and apply and apply deodorant and it will still smell like I just walked 15 miles in desert and haven’t showered in a week. And it’s not the self tan smell either it’s just really bad BO. Like the kind of BO that stains your clothes and you can’t get the smell out.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone knows why this happens. I’ve used Btan, tanologist, bondi sands ultra dark. Is it because I am applying self tanner to the armpit area. I just don’t understand why this happens. I want to be able to self tan, but I don’t want to smell bad because of it. If anyone has experienced this and knows how to solve it please let me know.

Complete beginner

Hey! I have NEVER used a self tanner and haven't tanned at all since I was a teenager. I am pale. Pale to the point that people joke about me being translucent. I picked up the Tanologist gradual tan body lotion in the medium version because I was scared to self tan & accidentally turn myself orange or have patchy/streaky application. I don't know, I just don't want to look dumb. I don't know where to start lmao. I'd love a DARK color eventually but I feel like I just don't know enough to even get started. Do we do our hands? Feet? Face? What about the.. nether regions? Do those stay pale? Are we tanning that? What products do you use lmao. Help a ghost girl out. I forgot to wash my hands last night after applying the lotion so now I have "trump hands" according to my husband. Anyone know how long it's gonna last if I do screw up? 🥴
