Why am I so dry?

So I’ve been trying to go back to sunless tanning instead of tanning beds because I’m 25 now and really want to be good to my skin. I used to get spray tans at sun tan city and occasionally self tan constantly when I was a few years younger. At that time, I was able to use different prep creams and lotions but now I am sensitive to toxic chemicals and especially fragrance, so I can’t use the same prep stuff I used to. I notice when I get a spray tan in a booth or use any lotions with DHA, I am so miserably dry. Like no amount of lotion helps and I have researched the best to buy such as the Cerave body lotion in the tub. I’ll even apply multiple times and I’m still so dry. The only lotion that made this never happen to me was this hyaluronic bath and body works lotion that they discontinued yearssss ago and idk why but out of every lotion, that one prevent dryness completely. It was truly magical. I don’t use any tanning prep stuff right now and I just got a PH balancer spray that I haven’t used yet, and I’m wondering if my BH balance is the problem? It is seriously so dry it’s miserable and it takes me getting the tan completely off to finally have some relief.
