Am I the only one who its finds hilarious that after all these years of them pushing cinematic universes Big Bang theory is one of the only survivors
They can’t make a decent universal monster universe, but we have four these things that go for multiple seasons
What is Man Carrying Thing doing in this 1989 Oliver Stone movie?

what is up with these super intense blurred circled backgrounds effects and why do I see them on every new streaming TV show or movie ever?
I mean, is this actually a good cinematography thing and I'm just ignorant? to me it looks horrible and instead of making me focus more on the subject I immediately lose focus because I'm so distracted by how much blurry the background is
Guest Recommendation for Episode 216
Jérémie Périn - director of Mars Express and the Dye Fantasy Music video will be the guest ‼️‼️
I honestly thought that after the flop that was Eddington, Ari Aster would land in directors' jail, but here we are now (he must have good connections). Let's just hope he doesn't become the next M Night Shyamalan, in which the first couple of were excellent/decent, then the most recent are absolute giant pieces of shit!
I think it’s obvious at this point that Adam has autism, and his autistic hyper-fixation is cinema/filmmaking. So as Adam continues to understand his autism and be an ally to the autism community I think he needs to start being more charitable when making fun of other fandoms.
What he doesn’t understand is that autistic people’s hyper-fixations aren’t always singular topics like trains or dinosaurs, sometimes the hyper-fixation is literal characters and properties like marvel, Star Wars, fnaf, Nintendo, and some of these fanbases consist of mostly autistic people. I understand that some of these fandoms can be insufferable (I’m talking about you Star Wars fandom) But sometimes I think he can be really uncharitable when he makes fun of fandoms he isn’t apart of saying things like “this franchise is for babies” or the common argument he makes that “people are only mad because they make this ip their entire identity” or making fun of people for soying out in the theater when their favorite character is revealed.
I know that getting overly excited in movie theaters is a behavior that is often made fun of on the internet, but there is something super autism-coded in going to the theater to see a movie based on your hyperfixation and getting giddy over your favorite moments and characters. When I saw fnaf 2 in theaters, that movie was HOT GARBAGE, but what made it worth it for me was seeing it with 2 other autistic buddies of mine and in a theater full of other autistic fans and the energy and excitement from the audience was electric. Adam’s special interest might be cinema, but not every autistic person has the same interest like us Sards, some just wanna go and see movies based on their autistic interest.
If Adam is going to be an ally to the autism community, then he should be more understanding of this and not take it so seriously when people get upset over him not liking movies about their special interest and just understand that it’s just someone who is passionate about their hyperfixation just like he is with filmmaking. I think he made a good choice in choosing to not see or review marvel movies anymore, but even then he’ll still make comments like “I’ll be doing better things with my life instead of seeing the new fantastic 4” then wonders why people get upset.
It also bothers me how often he makes arguments about “why do people get so upset over me disliking something they like” even though there are many instances on the podcast where he gets very clearly agitated over someone not liking something he’s passionate about or even just simply disagreeing with him. My favorites are episode 6 when Ralph said he thinks Wes Anderson’s style feels the same in each movie or episode 203 when Jake said he doesn’t blame all audiences for bad movies existing. Even when he doesn’t get upset he’ll still act extremely condescending to people he disagrees with. Further proving he is an autistic person who is also passionate about his interest just like all the nerds and fanboys he makes fun of.
Hi, all!!
I've been watching Sardonicast since its inception, having been a long time YMS and IHE fan.
I'm a filmmaker, my first feature just got put on Letterboxd Video Store for a limited time. Adum watched it last year when it was at Tribeca and gave it a 7 (!!!! insane), and it'd be a dream to see if Alex and Jake might want to check it out - it's called Lemonade Blessing.
Does anyone know of a good method for reaching them? I just sent emails and instagram DMs, not sure if there's another option I haven't considered.
I know this post straddles the line on the self promotion rule, so I won't include a link to the film.
Thanks for your time, everyone!

I know I'm a little late, but i didnt watch the movie until last night, and listened to the episode this morning.
Its weird than all 3 of them couldn't pick up onto the fact that there was no love plot, but especially Adam.
Through the whole movie HE acts like he's in love to get on her good side and manipulate, and SHE loves him like a pet, and not romantically, which is why she calls him Sweetie, her birds name. To be a professional movie reviewer for almost 20 years, its strange that Adam couldn't pick up on such obvious writing or the fact that is was all misdirection
He has tastes that Adam might consider "normie" (on his Letterboxd, he gave Sinners and Project Hail Mary 4.5/5 stars), but I think is also well-spoken enough to articulate those opinions and hold his own.
I am not a TV show person. I need to be to keep up with the current cultural landscape, but I am more of a movie person if anything. I have seen some Breaking Bad, not seen any Succession or Game of Thrones.
I am just not motivated to watch them because there's so many episodes and I have a short attention span.
However, I would be more motivated to go into it if I had a way of logging what I saw on a certain day, what percentage of a show I have seen and what percentage of an actor's work I have seen (I'd be more motivated to finish Breaking Bad for example if I could get to a tangible 100% score).
Letterboxd helps me channel my Movie Obsession because I enjoy the format where you can log what you see each day, and you can see what percentage of an actor's / a director's work you have seen. Heck, rewatching film franchises from years ago is alot more fun if I set a target and how many to watch by a deadline.
Is there something already like that? I know that you can log scores for episodes on IMDb but that doesn't count, because there's not that same diary / percentage watched aspect.
