Whats the major difference between these technologies?

Which is good for long term and less maintenance?

Ping the Scooter

Even though this feature was available in the app it didn't work properly and recently it started working.

So I booked a river indie about 15 days ago.

The expected delivery timeline according to the showroom was 7-10 days.

And according to the website was 15 days which is default.

But the showroom is citing and supply chain issues and is delaying my delivery for 2 more weeks.

Is this only happening to me or are there other new buyers who are facing this?

I'm looking to buy a river indie. But I really don't need a big boot space. But I think that river is working on a new scooty. What have u guys heard from the river team. Does anyone have any ideas and give me suggestions.

App inconsistency

Just bought myself a new river indie a month and few days ago. Total kms on odometer is around 722. App on landing page shows it properly but inside it shows I rode 40k km😱. Also no of battery charging shows only 3.

Here are Few tips if you are beginner for owing a EV.

3 Things you need to keep in mind

  • Keep SOC between 20-80%
  • Full charge at least twice in a month - cell balancing
  • Charge 30 min after your ride.
  1. Why 20-80%?

This can be divided into two parts,

What happens Beyond 80%

Charging a battery to 100% pushes the lithium ions into a high-voltage state. Holding them there for long periods (like leaving the EV parked at 100% overnight) creates chemical stress that degrades the battery's internal structure faster.

Why stay above 20%?

As the charge drops very low, internal resistance rises again. This makes the battery work harder to provide the same amount of power, which can lead to localized heating and strain.

2. What is cell Balancing ?

The BMS estimates your remaining range by tracking voltage and "counting" the energy going in and out. However, if you only ever charge between 20% and 80%, the software starts to lose track of where the actual "top" and "bottom" of the battery are.

Without a 100% reference point, the range estimate (the "State of Charge") can become inaccurate.

Charging to 100% provides a clear "ceiling." This recalibrates the sensors, ensuring that when the EV says you have 10% left, it’s an accurate reflection of the physical energy remaining.

3. Why to Wait 30min after Ride for a re-charge?

Waiting about 30 minutes after a ride before plugging in is a strategy mainly focused on thermal management.

Charging is also an exothermic process (it creates heat). If you plug in immediately, the charging heat is added to the existing driving heat. This can push the battery into a temperature range where the chemistry degrades faster.

Also, always try to park your vehicle in shade, avoid vehicle heating up especially for a EV scooter as there is no cooling mechanism built-in unlike EV cars.

I’ve been riding my River Indie for about a month and a half now, and I’m reaching a point where I feel genuinely unsafe in traffic. I wanted to check if other owners are experiencing this or if I’ve got a lemon.

The Problem: There is almost zero gradual modulation in the braking system. In bumper-to-bumper traffic, where you just need to shave off a little speed, the brakes don't seem to engage at all with a light or medium squeeze. However, once I pull the lever past a certain point, the brakes bite aggressively and bring the scooter to a dead halt.

The Safety Risk: It’s basically "all or nothing." Because there’s no progressive braking, I’m constantly worried about:

  1. Being rear-ended by vehicles behind me because my stops are so sudden.
  2. Losing control or sliding during low-speed maneuvers.

Service Center Response: I raised this during my first service, and the technicians told me that the "brake fluid needs time to flow properly" and it would resolve with more usage. Well, I’ve cleared the first service, put in the miles, and the behavior hasn't changed at all.

Questions for the community:

  • Has anyone else noticed a lack of "bite" until the lever is fully squeezed?
  • Could this be air in the brake lines, a faulty master cylinder, or just poor brake pad compound?
  • At this point, should I be demanding a replacement of the entire braking assembly (master cylinder/calipers)?

I love the utility of this scoot, but this braking issue is making daily commutes way more stressful than they should be. Any advice on how to handle the service center from here?

TL;DR: My River Indie brakes only work when fully applied, causing sudden stops. Service center says it’s "normal," but it feels dangerous. Advice?

P.S : Gemini was used for better articulation.

I'm thinking of buying a river indie.

You see, i have Yamaha Ray ZR 125 which is a good scooter except the suspension which feels very stiff.

After using this scooter, I got lower back pain. So thinking of changing to River Indie after checking reviews and it had been positive.

First I'll try a test ride and then decide to buy it.

I want to hear from your guys, how's the suspension?

FYI, roads are bad in my area. Home to office distance is 17kms, so daily i have to travel 34 kms....

Any first hand reviews....
