You lure them in with the thought of movies but all they get is cavities.
It's horribly inefficient by the way and not very profitable but I wanted to see if it would work. It does.
Customer: "I really like the movie I rented from here but halfway through it jump cut to the next scene as if though several seconds of the movie was just missing."
Me: *slowly puts a pair of scissors underneath the counter* "That is a weird editing choice on the movie makers part. Can I get you anything else today?"
Just wanted to share my ‘almost’ finished store. I finished all the achievements and with help from our friend out the back managed to furnish the place how I desired! (Minus a few posters I need to change the SKU of.)
This layout may not work for everyone but I did it how it was best for the amount of tapes I had per genre, over 1,000 total, but hope there’s some inspo here if you need it.
There are a few spoilers for store expansion as you swipe so the first two photos are the original layout. It was also a nice surprise to log on today and find some new display cabinets which helped finish off the place.

Yo they really cooked with this one. It’s amazing to be able to repair broken tapes. It’s a tad wonky at times but a billion times better than now having it. The sign is a nice addition. Any recommendations on what to set it for? Lastly displaying the day in the UI is amazing. What is your guys favorite part about the update?
I think we all get annoyed by those customers who refuse to pay the late/damage fees and push their orders to the floor. I wonder what they are gonna do with the upcoming update that lets you “Deal with them”. Cause I have been playing Ultimate Theater Simulator and that game lets you deal with smokers, people on their phones, bootleggers, kids sneaking in, thieves and burglars in a few ways including fists, Stun guns and BASEBALL BATS! Doubt we will get that crazy.
I played for the first time since the update. Loaded up the next day, and she was waiting for me at the clock in station. Thinking she would be asking for the day off.
Nope, she’s demanding a $3 raise and If she doesn’t get it she’ll call the cops because she knows about the bootleg tapes I’ve been buying.
Has this happened to any of you before or is this part of the new update?
I declined and all she did was said “fine” and went back to work.

It kinda sucks that after you get everything unlocked and build your store out after a year, and make it all pretty, no more new releases. I want like 3 years worth of new releases, forget repair station.
It's not like It's the first thing you see when you come in...if there were neon arrows to the left I'd hang it the other way around aswell.
This is important for anyone who wants to get any new achievements the next update might add or any future update might add.
So apparently even if you start a new game it looks at your achievements and auto completes any tasks correlated with your already earned achievements from previous saves. Even if you delete ALL of your user data, like saves, and reinstall the game.
If you use the cheat room, the one you unlock for getting to level 20, before getting 100% of the achievements you get locked out of getting any more achievements on all save files even new game saves.
EVEN IF YOU DELETE ALL OF YOUR SAVE FILES, DELETE ALL OF YOUR USER DATA, UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE GAME, AND THEN START A NEW GAME!
I'm going to do some more testing on this and hopefully have good news. For now beware.
I ordered 30 of them on release day. Today is the last day it is considered "New Release" and I allready had 7 broken copies.
It feels like right now anyone who works for me falls asleep once per day during work hours.
Please let me buy a coffee machine so when they feel tired they just drink a coffee. It gets kind of exhausting to run through the store and look for the Zs above the vhs racks.
They're slightly moving to the side so it's not a gigantic deal, but they do get stuck on it if they're coming to do returns from the far side that way it seems. Who knows, it might just be because this is 1, an endgame save, 2 a save from when I first got the game so it got wonky with the update somehow.
Just found out when you start the second year, your previous new release posters won’t display until they’re “released” again??? That’s a bummer since I’ve been working on this release display wall 🥲
I started a new store after the update and Hannah has the honor of renting the first Adult tape. I hope she enjoys Me Time With My Bread!
