I bought a 5d spinner from Etsy on Lacquerista day when they were on sale and yall inspired me to use Penelope Luz Wisteria for my first mani using it! It’s not perfect by any means, but the magnet only fell off twice and I didn’t have to redo any nails so I’m counting it as a win (even tho the whole process took 2 hours lol)
Magnet setup:
- 5d spinner + ILNP 30 lb horseshoe magnet on top

My first magnetics were Holo Taco’s Valentines magnets and I love them but after seeing all the recs for BKL I snagged a few in March. This is Blade of the Frontiers in velvet style and I can’t stop looking at my nails! The micro-particles really are a game changer.

I have been dying to see Project Hail Mary since its release, as a huge fan of the book. I finally had the chance last night and it did not disappoint! What a perfectly orchestrated adaptation of a wonderful story. Amaze amaze amaze!
I had to paint my nails for the occasion and chose I Exaggerate Absolutely Nothing Ever by Bees Knees Lacquer. The depth of color in this shimmery magnetic is unreal! I created a cat eye/velvet style using a horseshoe and bar magnet combination. The final result makes me think of the Petrova Line…

Tyler of Tyler's Trinkets reached out to me to design a collab and I was floored, excited, honored, and nervous! Over the past few months we've been working on it and I'm VERY excited to finally share it! This collection is my love letter to the hobby, the community, and these little bottles of paint that let us express ourselves in so many ways. I actually didn't keep this mani because my stamping was off on my other hand (tremors made it very challenging 😅) BUT I loved it for the short while that I had it! This silvery green made me so happy, I felt like I had magical jewels for nails!

I loved this movie so much. It's so visually stunning and since I've seen it I've been trying to capture it in a manicure. I'm also slightly obsessed with magnetic polishes so I figured I'd just go nuts today. My unhinged PHM manicure attempt:
Base coat:
3 day old polish that needed a refresher lol
Polishes:
one coat of Mooncat Millenia over the old mani, not magnetized.
Then a mix of Mooncat Jasmine Dragon, ILNP Madhouse, ILNP Deep Space, Holo Taco Playing the Field and Holo Taco Polar Opposites.
I just kind of dabbed each different polish on in different quadrants. Didn't magnetize and let it dry, and since I was going for chaotic I wasn't super precise about where I put what or overlapping.
Then a super generous application of DRK Magic Effect to get everything sort of smudged together and ready for magnets.
For my ring, middle and thumb I magnetized with a wand for ~90 seconds each. Pinky and pointer I used a 30# U magnet, again for about 90 seconds.
Topcoat: ILNP Glass Candy x2, each magnetized for 30 seconds or so.
It's still not 100% what I was imagining but I'm pretty happy with this attempt.
Side note: I am a fairly recently reformed nail biter of like 30+ years so I'm still growing out a bunch of damage, but I am infinitely grateful to this sub for inspiring me to change and for giving me mani ideas. So thank you all, you're wonderful ❤️

I have carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel in both hands, so my nerves are kinda fucked. This also has affected my grip strength, which means I have a hard time opening polish bottles sometimes. I find that matte caps are significantly easier to grip and open. Textured and shaped caps are also really nice, like orly (ew) and mooncat. My least favorite to open are those bottles with super tall and thin caps that some indie brands have.
No hate for any polishes with glossy caps, but matte is so much more accessible! That’s the end of my little appreciation post :)
About a month ago I posted asking for broken nail repair tips. The Orly nail repair kit was recommended. I got it and wow!! What a game changer!!!! This is working so much better than silk wrapping or anything else I've used. For reference, the glitter nails are the broken ones.

I randomly found this and I am wondering if anyone has comments on how well this style magnet may work? It seems easier than trying to get a ring by moving the magnet around as mine always seems to set before I get much movement.
Had to get this orchid pink linear holo when I saw that she was getting discontinued and wow she is a stunner in direct sunlight!

This is such a well-balanced shimmer to base coat formula. I recently realized that I don’t like when a polish is too shifty, or when the shimmer additives cover too much of the base color. Lurid gets an A+++ from me 😊
