Is MSRP a good deal for a RAV4 right now?

Is buying a Toyota RAV4 at MSRP considered a good deal right now, or are people still able to negotiate below MSRP?

I’m trying to understand the current market—are dealers still firm on pricing because of high demand, or has anyone had success getting discounts recently?

2016 RAV4 randomly stalls/shakes/shuts off for 2 YEARS — no consistent codes, passed EVAP, replaced fuel pump & canister. Finally got P1603 + P1605. Strong fuel smell. Anyone else?

2016 Toyota RAV4 (2AR-FE engine). For over 2 years my car randomly stalls, shakes, and shuts down with no warning. Here’s what I know:

•	Intermittent stalling/shaking/full shutdown

•	Strong fuel smell (persistent)

•	Scanner rarely throws codes — when it does, nothing

•	Finally got P1603 (Engine Stall History) and P1605 (Engine Rough Idling) — both appear to be consequence codes, not cause codes

•	Replaced fuel pump and charcoal canister — no fix

•	Passes state EVAP testing consistently

Suspects I haven’t ruled out yet: leaking injector O-rings, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor.

Has anyone dealt with this exact pattern on a 4th gen RAV4? What fixed it? Dealer couldn’t find anything. At my wit’s end.

Are the rear door handles the same as the passenger doors?

2009 Rav4, the rear door opens from the left, hinged on the right, rather than going up. the handles appear very similar, but are they the same part?

Anyone else having mechanical issues with their 2026 yet?

At 634 miles, my LE AWD already broke down. I tried to start it to go to work and received an error on the dash:

"SRS Airbag System Malfunction: Visit Your Dealer"

It displayed one other error as well, but I didn't get a picture of it. I tried shutting it off and back on again, and it kept happening. I was only able to get it to go away by waiting a few minutes, buckling my seatbelt, and trying again. The only thing different I did before starting the car this time was setting a heavy backpack on the rear seat, and I heard the errors start to chime on the dash before I even started the car or opened the front door. To clarify, the car did start, but the entire SRS system was disabled so I didn't feel safe driving it until I was able to get it to start without an error. I have an appointment at the dealer Monday, but it doesn't seem like this is that common based on some basic searching I've done. Perhaps a seatbelt sensor, or a loose connection with the airbag connector under the seat? I've driven it three times since, and the error hasn't come back yet.

2002 RAV4 Wiring

Can anyone tell me what these are and where they should be plugged in? I can’t locate a similar connection.

2024 RAV4 tire replacement suggestions?

Bought a 2024 Rav4 LE a few months ago and it’s time to replace the factory set of Toyo’s. I got a suggestion from discount tire for a complete set of Michelin’s for about $950 taxes and fee’s included which sounds good but was wondering if anybody has better suggestions/recommendations. I’m looking for maximum life possible between the next set after this purchase, I drive a lot here in the Dallas area mostly highway miles.

Corporate announcement

Did anyone else hear (I heard on YT) that Toyota directed all of its dealerships to reduce the price of used or earlier Toyota models (by about 8%) to clear the way for its sale of new models. Evidently this will have a domino effect, particularly to independent car sellers and to recent buyers, who will lose trade-in value for instance. To me, this seems like what this part of the car market needs. The ratio of used-to-new prices seems to have been strangely high for a while now. One of the concerns in the video is that this is basically "price fixing" and that the FTC should be paying more attention as this is not how a "free market" is supposed to work. I can probably find a link to the video if anyone is interested.
