Corporate announcement

Did anyone else hear (I heard on YT) that Toyota directed all of its dealerships to reduce the price of used or earlier Toyota models (by about 8%) to clear the way for its sale of new models. Evidently this will have a domino effect, particularly to independent car sellers and to recent buyers, who will lose trade-in value for instance. To me, this seems like what this part of the car market needs. The ratio of used-to-new prices seems to have been strangely high for a while now. One of the concerns in the video is that this is basically "price fixing" and that the FTC should be paying more attention as this is not how a "free market" is supposed to work. I can probably find a link to the video if anyone is interested.
