Genuinely why did writers think giving Cinder , a character criticized for being a better antagonist for Jaune instead of Ruby a backstory connecting her to Atlas and Schnees was a good idea ?

Adam Taurus vs Weiss Schnee Fan Comics (Art by @unspo_kenji)

this fan comics is awesome. I love how Adam instantly went kill mode in the 0.22 seconds it took him to register who actually arrived in front of him.

Remembering How RT Pushed This Team Hard And Then They Were Forgotten About

I remember how much merch and promotional material these ladies got. They got more stuff than Salem, Ironwood, Ilia, Tyrian and Oscar did lol.

Then when the game came out they had one animated cutscene where they each said one line then left. They also don't show up again in the game until the end of Chapter 4 and no where else. They're not even part of the finale of the game.

It reminds of team ABRN (the team SSSN faced in Volume 3) but at least in the Volume 3 trailer they don't tease that those characters are going to be important. They're just fan made characters who got to be in the show. Meanwhile Team BRIR aren't even in the V9 epilogue. They definitely just promoted them as 'Hey guys we have cool new hot ladies who are badasses! Buy our game!'. But that's really all they are.

Which is crazy cause they do have neat semblances and weapons. I also wish they were mercenaries. Which would be neat to see, how would those who don't have huntsmen and huntresses licenses handle a world where they don't have authority? Is there a reason these ladies didn't go to the academy? But then later we find out they're guardians of Arrowfell. Not gonna lie made them underwhelming. Them being mercenaries sounds way more interesting than guardians who protect this random military base.

They kind of have parallels to the other members of Team RWBY. Ruda can move very fast and go through objects. She also seems to have a chipper spirit who likes taking down Grimm. Just like Ruby. Bianca can borrow semblances from her team and is more stern. Similar to Weiss. Ivy uses her semblance and whip to move around and even help out her team. Like Blake does. And Roanne has lit up hair when she uses her semblance but she does seem to be able to use flames with her weapons. So a Yang. Maybe since this is Team RWBY's first mission as licensed huntresses Team BRIR makes them question why they're doing this. Showing them just because they got their licenses doesn't mean they're suddenly ready to take on the world. I'm coming up with things for them off the top of my head and yet the story itself never did anything with them.

TLDR: I feel like there's so many cool things that could have been done with them but they were tossed to the side and forgotten about. And what little they did get wasn't fleshed out.

RWBY Reacts To Mythology-Episode 34: Romeo And Juliet (Images Courtesy Of RWBY Wiki And IMDB)

Here we are at Episode 34 of "RWBY Reacts To Mythology", FNDM. Continuing our mini-series of having them react to Shakespeare's plays, on today's episode the heroes and villains of Remnant will be reacting to arguably Shakespeare's most famous tragedy of all (and the first of his plays I was ever introduced to): Romeo & Juliet.

So FNDM, what do you think the reactions of RWBY's heroes and villains would be after watching such a tragic, yet iconic, love story? As always, please be respectful when posting your replies.

A simplified rewrite of the white fang with its origins

The White fang in my rewrite was a longtime coming something that was already starting during the time of the great war where a Robin hood style fringe group had started out in mantle with them being the main reason many border towns and settlements managed to survive mostly due to there aid

But with the war and more and more of there new members being faunus who were sent out as either shock troops or cannon fodder they were starting a plan to prepare an all out revolution

The very first act that showed the four kingdoms that the revolution began wasn't due to the planning of the fang but because of a single mistralean soldier

Mistral and mantle are two of the most racist countries towards faunus with faunus only being officially allowed into the mistralean army when they were losing the war and losing soldiers

A promise the king of Mistral had made to them was that once the war was over each of ttehe faunus would be paid for there efforts and be ensured there families would have a home within the kingdom

Of course when the war was over and they had lost the king only paid the human soldiers with the faunus having been all gathered together to be told about it with budget issues being cited as the reason and that with the war lost they can't keep the promise they had made

But the faunus had bled so much lost so many of there brothers, sisters, neighbors, and friends that that single announcement led to a blood shed when a single faunus soldier shot the announcer and rallied the other faunus to a riot

800 faunus soldiers died that day at the hands of the mistralean soldiers including the soldier that started it Richard the Lionheart who left behind a son and wife

News spread after that reaching there neighbors in mantle where the white fang decided enough was enough where the first embers of rebellion had turned into a blazing flame where a young man became a face of the war effort Ghira Belladona alongside his friends Kali and Sienna where there first major victory was taking over a post office

Of course without such a thing as the ccts the post offices were the only form of communication where there message spread through radios and letters throughout the four kingdoms

More scattered groups emerged after that from the Albain family in Vale to the Taurus Clan in Vacuo

The most compelling figure apart from the founding trio in Mantle

Was the Lion who was roaring through Mistral and making them fear the Golden lion and his pride

Though not all of these groups shared the same goal

The Albains had started there fight as an excuse to pillage and plunder the kingdom of vale who's council that was recently made when the king of vale stepped down was trying to be more progressive

The Taurus clan while having somewhat noble intentions were bloodthirsty as they wanted revenge for the losses of there family that were sold overseas to atlas

It had eventually lasted a war of 6 years where the team lead by ozpin an up and coming hero of vale The lion of Mistral The Iron general of mantle and the Blazing star of vacuo had finally managed to hold a ceasefire and convince the kingdoms and the warring factions to settle for peace

The kingdoms of mistral and mantle who were the ones who had the most sins from the four kingdoms gave up part of there land as settlement to repay for the slaves that atlas kept and the broken promises mitral had made

In returned the pillagers from the albain family and the remnants of the taurus clan who suffered the most from this war were forced to stay within menagerie or else pay for there war crimes

Ghira had accepted this and with the fang being the largest of the group from the faunus factions the rest followed

While not all faunus followed most of these factions had left the kingdoms allowed rebuild with the 4 heroes who helped keep peace started the huntsman academies

But tensions would always still rise

With the members or factions who felt that they were given too little as they were forced to carve themselves a home within the deadly landscape of Australia menagerie

Like sienna who felt they were too hasty with giving up and still continued sending members of the white fang out within the four kingdoms where at most they were peaceful going back to there routes of being protectors of border towns

Until they found the sdc slave camps

Where a single red haired faunus managed to escape a brand marked across his face who fainted mere steps away from sienna in the cold storm

------

That's all I have for now would love some help to figure out what else I can do to flesh the white fang out some more

Some ideas I have

A human supremacist group funded privately by the sdc who feel the faunus were just greedy animals who never learned there place

Adam whole being around the same age as Blake maybe a year or two older would end up being a mentor figure to Blake not a boyfriend

Only the vale branch of the white fang had the red markings that Adam had with him having once been trained and befriended the raven branwen who taught him how to fight

Blake I'm making it she was kidnapped as a baby with Adam having found her and illa at an atlas orphanage and had the two of them recruited to the cause

The belladonas only learn that blake was alive when she and sun made the journey to menagerie after the fall of vale

Adam has a history with winter as well as a personal vendatta towards her

I don't think I've ever seen a more delusional tier list in my life.

https://x.com/i/status/2045228220027453819

>OP thinks that Ruby is as strong as V3 Qrow by the time V6 takes place despite having no feats to back it up

>Hazel being that low to begin with is ridiculous

>Cordovin being that high up for some reason

>Wine drunk out of shape Willow is as strong as people who active huntsmen????

>Ilia, May, and Lionheart being in the same tier list as Mercury, Velvet, the Hound, and Sienna???? Those three haven't done shit or have any feats.

>Adam that low/ non-maiden Raven that low/Vernal being that low/Glynda being that low.

>V6 Jaune being higher than Nora????? In the same tier list as non-maiden Cinder???????

This has to be rage bait.

The problem with the Jaune's "imposter syndrome" arc is that he is, in fact, an imposter

Jaune faked all of his papers and exams to enter Beacon Academy, making one of the main characters of the show a liar and a fraud.

Now this wound't be a problem if it was shown that he feels guilty over this, or that he had altruist reasons to want to become a huntsman.

Take Leorio from Hunter x Hunter as an example: he is a fraud that is hard carried by his friends throught the whole hunter exam, but we fell sympath for him because he wants to become a hunter to help people, and he is risking his life for a good cause despite being weak.

In Jaune's case, however, he wants to become a huntsman for his own personal dreams of glory and becoming a hero, and he risks people life in the first season because he is dumb and unprepared for danger.

He also don't show that he fells guilty for cheating, but rather that he is having a hard time in the academy for being weak. Again, it's all about him, not the others.

This is the reason why i don't like Jaune as a character: he does almost nothing for himself during the first 3 volumes and causes problems all the time, but the show always rewards him for that.

Should Ruby have had a rival?

Pretty self explanatory question. When it comes to an anime about action, one of the most fun things (in my opinion) is when the main character has a rival that acts as a foil to them. They throw down every once in a while, and motivate each other to improve through their interactions.

Dragon Ball? Yamcha, Krillin, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, and Vegeta have all been Goku's rivals at at least one point or another, with Goku feeling motivated to improve himself and surpass his limits after fighting them, and them feeling motivated to train and surpass him.

Naruto, one of RWBY's influences? The entire story is basically all about Naruto and Sasuke, their rivalry, how they reflect each other like a cracked mirror, etc. Even Boruto is keeping that up with Boruto and Kawaki.

My Hero Academia? Deku and Bakugo. Black Clover? Asta and Yuno. Even in video games, like Sora and Riku in Kingdom Hearts (and we all know Monty liked a bit of Kingdom Hearts).

Ruby, however, never really had a rival. Weiss KIND OF saw her like that early on, but she grew out of that spite by the end of Volume 1. Cinder, arguably, but I wouldn't place her in that mold myself. There's not really a single opposing character that's really motivating Ruby to improve, or that Ruby is motivating in return. Should she have had that? Should she have had a rival motivating her? I myself made an OC just to fill that roll, but do any of you feel the same?

My *PERSONAL* RWBY Volume Tier List - With Reasonings

S Tier - RWBY Volume 4, Volume 6, Volume 3

Volume 4 : It's my favorite volume of the entire show, and I know that's kinda a controversial opinion nowadays but this volume does so many things right imo.

The Introduction of Team RNJR, Ren's backstory, The Introduction of New Potential Weapon Upgrades for the cast, The Introduction of Oscar and the Oz reincarnation cycle, The *Real* introduction of Salem and her group. The Nukavlee, Blake and Sun having their best moments during this arc, the introduction to Blake's parents, Seeing Weiss's family life and Whitely for the first time.

Qrow becoming a permanent cast member and also the new introduction to the new art style and first major 3- Volume design switch up.

Volume 6 : I think this volume is so underrated in 2026, this volume does so much for the story of RWBY that I don't think it gets appreciated because of the admittedly pretty mediocre final act. It's the first true Reunion arc for Team RWBY since they were split in volume 4, it also is a massive lore season as it's the introduction of Salem and Oz's backstory, the brother gods, magic AND the Grimm. We see who is actually in the lamp as well this volume. The Apathy is legitimately one of the coolest Grimm types in the show that actually are a threat that you can't just punch through.

It also is an introduction of Maria who is imo a pretty cool character in her own right and some really cool representation of both the disabled community/Latino disapra. *The Grimm Reaper also being in RWBY is awesome*

Volume 6 isn't without flaws tho and I admit that the final arc with Adam and Cordovin isn't the best but even then it's still pretty entertaining for the most part. I would say the weakest of Volume 6 still dwarfs half of the show. I love seeing the beginning of Cinder and Neo's partnership one of the best dynamics in the show.

It's Volume 3 - you know Volume 3 is good, it's what many people believe is the peak of the show. The Biggest Stakes within the plot, major character deaths and impacts that literally effect the rest of the show moving forward. It's the peak of many characters and the ending of the beacon arc in general. This is the pay off for some many characters with incredible fights as well. You can really feel how much weight this volume has.

Obvious S tier is Obvious

I didn't really know where to put these 2 arcs I'm gonna be honest

Volume 7 is a good arc, I love Ironwood in this season, I do love how Tryian and Watts unravel the season's plot bit by bit. I love seeing Penny again and this is the first arc of the entire show that the kids are actually huntsmen now.

I like seeing how other major kingdoms react to what happened in beacon and I love the suspense of what to do about the truth they uncovered in volume 6. I like the new weapon upgrades even if they are mostly kinda pointless. I love how different this arc was from the past few and I especially love how Ruby herself is characterized through this arc.

Volume 9 is weirdier, it's kinda filler? I don't really like that term and especially since it's one of the most experimental plotlines within the show especially since the main character fuckin dies in it lol. I love the Rusted Knight, I think it's one of the coolest ideas that is hated because of who it's about. I think the idea of Jaune being trapped in the ever after and slowly growing into this bitter mental unwell man who has to accept every failure no matter what because no one is there for him is very fucking cool.

I love Ruby in this arc going through it and I love seeing her managed to reach the other side even if it's hard for her.

I admittedly don't like how useless WBY are at times in the overall story tho. I think Ruby and Jaune are at their best in the plotline tho. Neo's end is both tragic and self filling. I think the Curious Cat is really cool villain that doesn't get talked enough about.

Volume 1/2 are admittedly very interchangeable for me, unlike the later volumes volumes 1 and 2 kinda suffer the problem of feeling very samey? Volumes 1 and 2 both are really good arcs that introduced us to the world of RWBY with the Grimm, the weapons, the aura. I like these arcs especially for what it was back then. I love the characters it introduced like Penny, Sun, Neptune, Team RWBY, Team JNPR, Coco and Ozpin but imo these arcs have clearly shown their age.

There is a reason why icequeendom was able to skip over half of Volume 1...it's not paced the best.

Volume 8 isn't as bad as people say imo but....this volume is the only volume I have ever seen to actually make me stop watching the show for a long while. Like so long that I didn't realize that their was volume 9 long. I liked certain aspects of the story, I liked the Cinder plotline especially the backstory even if it does piss me off at times.

I love Jaune, Yang and Ren actually a goated trio that we need more of. I like Nora a lot in Atlas actually even though I missed talking about that in Volume 7. I like the ideas what they were doing with Ironwood. I think Salem is at her best in this arc and volume 7 with her pure menace alone. I like the idea of Emerald switching sides finally after teasing this idea since 3 of her not being as evil as the others. The actual fall of Atlas itself is pretty neat as an idea. The Hound is fucking awesome, I love Oscar's internal resistance of Oz and them eventually reconciling

I do think killing off Penny again was kinda cheap and I'm not a fan of Ironwood dying off screen. Nor a Fan of Mettle as a semblance. I'm not crazy about the fights most of the time either. Volume 8 kinda feels like a worse retread of Volume 3 at times imo.

Volume 5 fucking sucks ass, this is the cold take and a cold take for a reason. The Faunus Sub Plot is pretty bad during this arc and not the most memorable. Illia is my least favorite faunus character in this show and that's saying something because Lionheart is also in this arc. Sienna shows up for 5 seconds and dies...one of the coolest characters both in lore and design gets fucking wasted.

Team RNJR basically gets erased this volume which kinda sucks. Weiss and Yang regrouping with the main group is sweet and seeing them meet each other was a actual nice moment. Raven is a nunaced and cool character even though she does suck as a person.

Taiyang being completely irrelevant this arc actually hurts it more imo especially since Raven is so important. Raven vs Cinder is amazing and *ALMOST* redeems the battle of Haven being so dogshit. Hazel's motive is almost non-senseical and is annoying because he does raise a good point of Ozpin sending children to war.

Lionheart is such a bitch that it almost doesn't feel that great when he dies. First time team RWBY even sees Salem also.

What have they done to you Merc... 😭.

How would you handle Weiss racism without making her the bad guy

I know a topic like this was posted around 10 days ago, but I couldn't stand how of some the ideas people posted were to make Weiss the evil bitch and Blake the ex-terrorist a cat girl that needs to be protected. No I'm not kidding one comments had Ruby nearly kick Weiss off the team while being okay while Blake the ex-terrorist gets nothing in comparison. As much as I hate Blake there shouldn't even be a bad guy in this situation, ignoring the fact that one is more innocent than the other.

RWBY Reacts To Mythology-Episode 33: Hamlet (Images Courtesy Of RWBY Wiki And Shakespeare Birthplace Trust)

Welcome to Episode 33 of "RWBY Reacts To Mythology", FNDM. Today is the start of a mini-series within this series that has been requested by Reddit user u/izzymacLM. They requested that I do several episodes where the heroes and villains of Remnant react to the plays by William Shakespeare, and I'm more than happy to oblige with that request!

For the first showing in this 10-episode mini-series, FNDM, I want to know what you think the reactions and opinions of the RWBY heroes and villains would be after watching Shakespeare's play "Hamlet". As always, please be respectful when posting your replies.

Thoughts on this dialogue idea I had for Ren (Volume 8 AU)?

Okay, so I was re-evaluating a planned scene where Ren (who’s lost faith in Ruby and Ozpin and thus sided with Ironwood) is arguing with his friends as they try to convince him to reject Ironwood. As Ren raves about Ruby and Ozpin seemingly throwing people’s lives away out of a naive desire to be a hero (Ruby) and out of cowardice (Ozpin), Weiss and Jaune bring up Pyrrha, to which Ren butterfly responds with the following:

“Pyrrha? You *dare* mention Pyrrha to *me*? Pyrrha died for *nothing*, and you know that! Beacon had already fallen - Cinder had already gotten *exactly what she wanted*! Pyrrha died because Ozpin planted those delusions about destiny in her head - a destiny where she’d needlessly throw her life away trying to win a battle that was already lost, against a woman she couldn’t hope to beat. You think she died a hero? All she did was allow herself to be killed and left us all to suffer in the aftermath! Her teammates, her family, *everyone*! The world lost a talented and capable huntress simply because Ozpin wanted to use her as one of his pawns, and then Salem twisted her into one of her puppet monsters. Don’t you *dare* try to use Pyrrha’s senseless death to glorify Ozpin. At least the general actually has regard for his soldiers’ lives.”

How would you write Qrow Semblance?

In my fic, Qrow is able to control when to use his semblance, and it's very OP in how much bad Luck he can create around him (Final Destination levels of Bad Luck).

But the downside is that he can't choose the people his semblance affects, so he never uses it unless he is figthing bad guys alone, which is the reason why he always go in missions all by himself.
