The White fang in my rewrite was a longtime coming something that was already starting during the time of the great war where a Robin hood style fringe group had started out in mantle with them being the main reason many border towns and settlements managed to survive mostly due to there aid

But with the war and more and more of there new members being faunus who were sent out as either shock troops or cannon fodder they were starting a plan to prepare an all out revolution

The very first act that showed the four kingdoms that the revolution began wasn't due to the planning of the fang but because of a single mistralean soldier

Mistral and mantle are two of the most racist countries towards faunus with faunus only being officially allowed into the mistralean army when they were losing the war and losing soldiers

A promise the king of Mistral had made to them was that once the war was over each of ttehe faunus would be paid for there efforts and be ensured there families would have a home within the kingdom

Of course when the war was over and they had lost the king only paid the human soldiers with the faunus having been all gathered together to be told about it with budget issues being cited as the reason and that with the war lost they can't keep the promise they had made

But the faunus had bled so much lost so many of there brothers, sisters, neighbors, and friends that that single announcement led to a blood shed when a single faunus soldier shot the announcer and rallied the other faunus to a riot

800 faunus soldiers died that day at the hands of the mistralean soldiers including the soldier that started it Richard the Lionheart who left behind a son and wife

News spread after that reaching there neighbors in mantle where the white fang decided enough was enough where the first embers of rebellion had turned into a blazing flame where a young man became a face of the war effort Ghira Belladona alongside his friends Kali and Sienna where there first major victory was taking over a post office

Of course without such a thing as the ccts the post offices were the only form of communication where there message spread through radios and letters throughout the four kingdoms

More scattered groups emerged after that from the Albain family in Vale to the Taurus Clan in Vacuo

The most compelling figure apart from the founding trio in Mantle

Was the Lion who was roaring through Mistral and making them fear the Golden lion and his pride

Though not all of these groups shared the same goal

The Albains had started there fight as an excuse to pillage and plunder the kingdom of vale who's council that was recently made when the king of vale stepped down was trying to be more progressive

The Taurus clan while having somewhat noble intentions were bloodthirsty as they wanted revenge for the losses of there family that were sold overseas to atlas

It had eventually lasted a war of 6 years where the team lead by ozpin an up and coming hero of vale The lion of Mistral The Iron general of mantle and the Blazing star of vacuo had finally managed to hold a ceasefire and convince the kingdoms and the warring factions to settle for peace

The kingdoms of mistral and mantle who were the ones who had the most sins from the four kingdoms gave up part of there land as settlement to repay for the slaves that atlas kept and the broken promises mitral had made

In returned the pillagers from the albain family and the remnants of the taurus clan who suffered the most from this war were forced to stay within menagerie or else pay for there war crimes

Ghira had accepted this and with the fang being the largest of the group from the faunus factions the rest followed

While not all faunus followed most of these factions had left the kingdoms allowed rebuild with the 4 heroes who helped keep peace started the huntsman academies

But tensions would always still rise

With the members or factions who felt that they were given too little as they were forced to carve themselves a home within the deadly landscape of Australia menagerie

Like sienna who felt they were too hasty with giving up and still continued sending members of the white fang out within the four kingdoms where at most they were peaceful going back to there routes of being protectors of border towns

Until they found the sdc slave camps

Where a single red haired faunus managed to escape a brand marked across his face who fainted mere steps away from sienna in the cold storm

That's all I have for now would love some help to figure out what else I can do to flesh the white fang out some more

Some ideas I have

A human supremacist group funded privately by the sdc who feel the faunus were just greedy animals who never learned there place

Adam whole being around the same age as Blake maybe a year or two older would end up being a mentor figure to Blake not a boyfriend

Only the vale branch of the white fang had the red markings that Adam had with him having once been trained and befriended the raven branwen who taught him how to fight

Blake I'm making it she was kidnapped as a baby with Adam having found her and illa at an atlas orphanage and had the two of them recruited to the cause

The belladonas only learn that blake was alive when she and sun made the journey to menagerie after the fall of vale

Adam has a history with winter as well as a personal vendatta towards her

Okay so time to do a post about crocea mors and kne of the spirit oc's I've made

Vaillant spirit of valor one of the few remaining spirits that represent values that stayed on remnant with many of the others either going to the ever after or had faded due to lack of magic

He was able to sustain himself by getting bound to the sword of a small kingdom known as the plantegenets who had went to war with Camelot and it's king Alfred Arc who stole the blade from the king

Vaillant while not being able to do much do to what he represents in terms of fighting

He is however able to help boost someone's aura and make those around his wielder feel bravery for the coming battle being a sort of rallying symbol able to turn the tides of a battle

His first recorded user after the tyrant king had wielded him was jaune's great great grandfather Alfred Arc who stole the sword used to wear glistening white armor that mixed metal and dust together using a semblance he had that's similar to jaune's being able to transfer his aura into objects

He was a king of a small kingdom in vale and had fought alongside the warrior king of vale and his knights of the vale

His armor was near unbreakable until the day he died to a grim horde where the only thing that came back was his sword and broken armor set about 100 years before the great war

His Son Richard Arc had the armor reforged into the shield jaune wields and light armor and had given up his throne deciding the arc lineage should better serve the people as protectors not rulers

When he died in battle against the grimm his shield had broken his son Arthur Arc had turned the shield into a simple mech shift shield as a scabbard and was known throughout the lands as the white knight

He's travel throughout the lands as a wandering hedge knight doing anything and everything until the start of the faunus war where he and his friend Nicholas fought together to help against mantle and mistral

His son Julius would take the sword and shield after he retired when the great war had concluded taking up the mantle of white knight during the faunus revolution and had fought against atlas being the main cause for ironwood's cybernetic appearance

He stayed where he founded a family somewhere near the border between animal and solitas an ancestral home that belonged to his wife's family the plantegenets when she used to be a royal until her father let there kingdom be annexed to vale after deposing his tyrant of a father

Arthur was always there to help his kids and there families the town now known as ansel being the place where he made sure every arc could call it a home even after his wife had passed happily breaking the tradition of arcs having multiple kids and dying in there 30s

Unfortunately his only son Julius would die at Mount Glenn making a cave in where it was destructive enough only his sword and shield survived so he forbid his only grandson from becoming a hunter not wanting to lose the person who looked so much like julius

And than jaune stole the sword the shield the armor and you can guess the rest

So I'm mainly going to keep a lot of this canon

But the relics themselves are not tied to the maidens

They still keep the same spirits

But there are more of them

The 4 spirits within the relics are known as the great spirits the oldests of the spirits made by the brother gods to create remnant

But there used to be millions of them within the world until salems rebellion where the brother gods stripped the world of magic

Due to this many of the spirits left for the ever after with the most powerful staying behind

The 4 great spirits stayed behind within the relics

While some others made appearances within different items across remnant

I've only decided on two of them so far

Vaillant the spirit of valor housed within crocea mors(will be explored in another post)

And chance spirit of luck housed within a deck of cards(think of deck of many things from dnd for how they operate )

These spirits varied far and wide on what they were but the ones who remain are those that represented something important within remnant from values to concepts

Penny will end up as the spirit of technology instead of a maiden in my rewrite

Okay so after my last post I wanted to expand more kn the maidens as a whole

I'd be keeping the same origin towards them being 4 people that inspired ozpin not to give up on humanity during his lowest point so he gifted them magic

But I wanted to expand on the magic itself

So it won't be like in Canon where a maiden is a bootleg avatar

Instead it would be more like being able to use powers and abilities based of the season you're the maiden of

Winter maidens being able to use magic glyphs such as the schnee family being able to do what weiss does on larger scales

And imagine if say the fall maiden could mimic abilities that have connection to fall like petal burst since petals fall when it's autumn and giving an actual reason that cinder is so much of a threat

Spring meanwhile being a boost to your own strength and aura but being the maiden known for healing could contrast well with the brutal nature of raven as well as full control of plant life think Isabella from encanto or poison ivy

As for summer well no idea yet what summer should be able to do

So wanted to start posting about the au I'm writing and decided to explain something that bugged me about the original show

Why glyphs seemed so versatile

In my au a few generations before the great war one if the winter maidens fell in love with a schnee and had a child

Due to this the schnee family gained the glyoh semblance a fraction of the power the maiden holds allowing them to perform feats of magic channeled from winter itself while other glyphs need dust to be performed

The summons meanwhile need no dust only aura to be able to maintain there form

The Schnees aren't the only families with hereditary semblances but they are the most prominent and the most long-lived long enough to learn and master the craft being as close to mages that Oz had seen

With Nicholas being the greatest Schnee to ever wield the family semblances with his greatest summon being a horde of reindeer that pulled his sleigh and helped him rescue people during the time of the great war

If a Schnee were to gain the power of a maiden again it would be a much more smoother transition of power as it acts more as a boost allowing them to perform more powerful and complicated spells that previous Schnees could only accomplish as a group before
