I loved QuizUp so much that we ended up building our own version inspired by it

Like a lot of people here, I was genuinely obsessed with QuizUp and never really found another trivia app that captured the same competitive feeling after it shut down.

So me and my co-founder started building one ourselves.

We’ve been working on it for a long time and finally launched it a few days back. It’s called Quelo.

The goal wasn’t to clone QuizUp, but to bring back that feeling of competing with real people in topics you genuinely care about, whether that’s cricket, movies, sitcoms, anime, football, math, Bollywood or random knowledge.

Right now the app is completely free. No locked features, no subscriptions, just play, compete and give feedback.

What we really want is to build this together with people who genuinely loved QuizUp, because honestly this community understands better than anyone what made it special.

Things we’d genuinely love feedback on:
• What made QuizUp addictive for you?
• What modern quiz apps still get wrong?
• What features would make you keep playing daily?
• What kind of monetisation would actually feel fair to users?

We also made a Discord for suggestions, feature ideas, bugs and community discussions if anyone wants to help shape where this goes next.

The Impossible UX Quiz

Hey!

For a university UX project, my group made a short browser game, and we’re looking for a few people to test it and share feedback.

  • Only takes a few minutes
  • Short 2–3 min survey afterwards
  • Best played on desktop/laptop

We’d really appreciate any feedback on the gameplay, difficulty, or overall experience. Thanks

Game Title: Cyberquizz

Playable link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ldpixel.cyberquiz

Platform: Android

Description: Cyberquizz is a quiz game with a slightly electronic vibe. You can play it online or offline. There's a friends system if you want to add friends and challenge them to a duel. You will find there a general ranking and a PVP ranking. There is a mission system, as well as titles to be earned.

The game contains several categories, ranging from history and video games to mythology. There's even an easy mode for children. Every categorie can be unlocked for free.

Free-to-Play status: free to play

Involvement: I developed this game entirely on my own, except for the logo and music. It took me several months. This is the first game I've created; it was a great experience, and I hope you enjoy it.

I used to love the style of quick competitive quiz games like QuizUp, and I feel like there hasn’t been a really good modern replacement for that experience.

So I’m building a mobile game called Quiz Hero.

The idea is simple: you play quizzes across lots of categories, but you also choose, customise, name and level up your own superhero. Each hero has a unique power that can help during a quiz.

For example:

Speedster gives you extra time to answer.

Brainiac removes one wrong answer.

There will be friend challenges, ranked play, leaderboards, hero progression, customisation, and superhero groups called Legions.

I’m not posting this to spam a link — I’m genuinely trying to get feedback from people who liked QuizUp-style games.

Would a quiz game with superhero powers/progression appeal to you?

And what features from QuizUp would you want to see brought back or improved?

I’ve attached a couple of early screenshots so you can see the quiz screen and hero system. It’s still in development, so I’d genuinely appreciate honest feedback on the concept, layout, and whether the superhero powers make the quiz format more interesting.
