I finally got my shiny Larvitar after 2300 soft resets. Unfortunately its nature is hardy so I would like to know where I can change his nature and what moves should I run on him.
Hello all. I started this game awhile ago and have been getting some time in here and there. Beat the Blizzard City gym along with some side quests there and my last save was in the KBT Expressway. I moved my files from my then RG SP to my new RG DS and the game will not load my saves, no matter what I do with save locations or extensions. The RG DS does not use retroarch for GBA and when I tried, its like starting from scratch. I installed Rocknix and that was a nightmare for anything but DS games, as I could not load or find my saves for GBA and GBC. I switched back to stock OS and all of my saves pull up, but Pokemon Unbound. Im at a loss and believe my save is lost forever.
With that out of the way, im looking for a different experience this time but I still want to follow the story. It's discouraging starting over again, so taking another avenue to go through the story should be refreshing.
If yall have any suggestions with loading saves or another way to play this game with the options they have while preserving the story, I'd appreciate it.
It was a hell of a run, definitely harder than run and bun or radical red. The ghost member of the e4 was giving me fits with mega gengar surviving garchomp's earthquake with 1 hp and having nothing on my team to outspeed. Finally remembered i had a ground gem and that did the trick. I think I used around 30ish different pokemon for gym leaders and boss fights. Fun experience even though some of the gym mechanics gave me fits.

Am I missing a TM shadow ball or something? The fresh water guy at the beginning of the gym said a non-ghost Pokemon that learns ghost type moves is the best way to counter this gym but there’s no Pokemon to my knowledge that can do this other than some that can maybe learn astonish. And I have no ghost TMs. So there’s no super effective moves against this guys Pokemon and all of them can two shot my team. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment with figuring out strats to win on expert but it’s just starting to get frustrating and I don’t know a whole lot about min max breeding or EV training. Maybe I’m in over my head?
Ok so I just talked to the dude in blizzard city who gives you an eviolite. My question is do I give it to my scraggy (who already has good defenses) or my Kadabra, whose weakness is its defenses. at lvl 30, my Kadabra still gets 1/2HKO, maybe since I got it at like level 25 as an abra. What would be the better move here?
Been on a retro/ROM kick and this game kept coming up.
I went through the in-game difficulty questions (IVs, team-specific leveling, etc.) and got slotted into Expert. None of it sounded too crazy at the time, but I know you can't raise the difficulty back up after lowering it, so I want to understand what I'm signing up for before I commit.
Is Expert reasonable for someone who enjoys the strategic side but doesn't want to spend hours breeding for each fight? Or does EV/IV breeding become basically mandatory? It has been fun so far, so just trying to understand what is normal.

What are the pros and cons of having level caps on or off. Has anyone played through with them off? I have them on now and most trainers I battle are still like 6-8 levels below mine (lvl32 cap atm). Boss battles are little harder but that’s about it.
I just recently caught raltz and I still only have 2 badges. I really want noivern in my team cause i just love him but I don’t know who to replace him with!

After 255 dexnav encounters and a chain only as high as 37 (star piece and stardust farming) I was blessed with a terrible IV shiny lol, I will be EV training it and putting it on the team anyway!

That they all 3 got their evolved forms, in the right order, is insanity. None had had great moves, so doing a different chance, but that is the craziest luck I'll ever see

Trying to evolve Golbat already max happiness but already at level cap. Insane difficulty. I think I’ve gotten all the rare candies up until this point I’m about to try my luck again against Mel. But need hex crobat for that.
