I’m fairly new to Plymouth. I just love it here, and there are many reasons it’s a far better place to live than Missouri - the cost of living is better, the availability of fresh seafood is better, the scenic countryside and tourist spots are better, the public transportation (from nearby Kingston, to and around Boston) is excellent and the Yankee accents are fun to my Southern ears.

One hitch: I’m having trouble figuring out why there are so many people here who seem to have a 100% grim outlook. If I get in someone’s way shopping at Home Depot or Market Basket, I will smile at them and say “oh, sorry, excuse me!” and pull back my cart so they can pass. Almost every time this happens, I get no response. The person doesn’t even make eye contact. They just push on by, stone-faced.

It happens to my wife, too. I’m used to a warmer attitude from strangers in public places. Is this a Plymouth thing, or possibly a Massachusetts thing?

Edit: there are SO MANY guns in MissourI. You can concealed carry without any permit. We had a road rage murder within a half mile of my house on I-44, which we can blame at least part on the angry guy driving around with a loaded gun within reach - legally.

Does anyone know of any more litter locations in Plymouth?

Hi all! I know I already posted about this recently but just need 6 more locations! Maybe I’ll get some fresh eyes on this one. Does anyone know of any locations on public land that is heavily littered and that is in need of collecting ?

Summer help

Hi! I have a 20 year old home from college for the summer and she’s looking for work. She’s not on Reddit so I am asking on her behalf.

She’s worked at a bakery for 4 years, making coffee and providing customer service, making pastries, etc. Smart kid, hard working and will be available for all school breaks and summers. Let me know if anyone knows of anything she should check out. Thank you!

Looking to purchase (not lease) solar panels for the house. Already confirmed I'm in a prime spot with plenty of sun hours and no tree blockage. I just need to investigate installers.

I've signed up for EnergySage and of course had a couple door to door salespeople pop by (I don't fall for their pressure don't worry), but it's always hard to tell from just a sales pitch. Since moving here it's hard not to notice the amount of solar panels people have, so:

Any particular companies (bonus if they're local/regional and not a nationwide one) that people have worked with and highly recommend?

First I will say that Market Basket can usually fill most of my needs for cheese cravings. But every once in awhile I want something a little bit more exotic. Are there any places around that have a secret mini cheese shop?
