Tops of piercing jewelry from places like shein/temu

I know it’s not ideal to get piercing jewelry from shein/temu or any of those sites, but I live in a place where cute jewelry is very limited. Would it be better to just use the tops of the jewelry that come from temu and to put them onto good quality titanium posts or do you think the bad quality metal tops can still affect my ears. I’d still get titanium/925 silver/stainless steel from Temu if that matters at all. I’ve been doing this with sterling silver jewelry tops from a shop called lovisa and it’s been working well. Feedback would be appreciated thanks :)

Ball sizing??

Hey yall, I had a quick question in regards to the ball/spike sizing on a septum ring. My partner recently lost one of the balls off of his brand new septum (14g horseshoe) and we need to get a replacement ball because he can’t just put in a different septum. The problem with his septum and this whole debacle is that it was anodized teal when he got it, and I’ve only found one site that has the same color—or at least similar to it—in septum spikes, but they’re a 16 gauge instead of a 14.

Will 16 gauge spikes (internally threaded) fit into a 14 gauge septum or would it just fall out and not screw in properly? The only other option is that he just get a replacement that’s not the same color.

Thanks guys <3

Is my vertical labret healing badly or just irritated?

I got them done on 07/03 so they're about a month old

They're pierced with curved barbells which are externally threaded

I've been cleaning them twice a day (after waking up/before bed) with saline solution (I'm currently waiting on NeilMed spray to arrive but I'll still clean twice a day afterwards)

I haven't downsized yet but I have plans to in the next couple of weeks

A few days ago I bumped the one on the right (which is the one I'm concerned about) and now it's like slightly discoloured if that's the right word and a little swollen but it isn't painful at all but I'm really paranoid about them not healing right so I'm here asking for advice

Snakebites

Finally went out and got these done.

Just looking for after care advice? I have been using warm water and rock salt to swig around my mouth atleast twice a day or after eating, and I have alcohol free mouth wash I use after. Anything I should be doing? Thanks!

infected or rejecting?

hi everyone! i got my eyebrow pierced with a titanium barbell at the beginning of february. i’ve been very careful trying not to snag it and i spray it with saline twice a day. 2 or 3 weeks ago i snagged it really hard in the shower and i think (??) it tore a little bit. ever since then it’s been on/off with pus or redness. it’s been doing good this past week but now it’s back to the pus and redness. if it’s rejecting i would have no problem removing it! but i want to know if it’s infected so i can get antibiotics prescribed.

Lip piercing suddenly torn ??

The photos are a lil bad, but my right side piercing has seemingly recently begun to tear ? It’s nearly 3 years old and I’ve never had any issues with it, nor the left side. I can’t seem to recall it getting caught or tugged on in the past week or so since it’s begun bothering me.

The hole itself seems to be fine, on the outside too, but the skin around the inside is suddenly gaping and I’ve noticed, what I can only describe as scar tissue, around the hole.

I’m treating it with salt water and ice, I don’t want to take out the hoop just in case it closes up (I also don’t have any studs currently…). Has anyone experienced anything like this before ??

I got forward and back helices done about a month ago, I think the forward one is struggling to heal and skin is jutting out now. What do I do??

It's likely extra red (besides the irritation) because I've just touched it to clean it, and my skin gets red easily. I clean it twice a day with the solution they gave me. I know I should probably have an even *longer* bar than it was already, because clearly that part of my ear isn't a fan. I know you're not meant to change them yet, but I really think I might need to?? this one time with a longer bar, because the swelling is clearly digging itself in and circling the problem

dahlias and anatomy

hey! dahlia piercings are one of those piercings where there’s not HEAPS of information out about them, i’m wondering if someone could explain the anatomy for them, more so what they are actually pierced though? i know not through salivary glands obviously, but if it’s a muscle, and what the sweet spot is. how can you tell what your sweet spot is and what is it supposed to feel like and what is it composed of.

Okay so I need help😭😭

I got my first ear lobe piercings about 7 months ago and let's just say I've been procrastinating taking out my starter earrings a bit. I've been busy okay??😭😭. Alright so about 2 weeks ago one of my piercings got infected, and I got antibiotics and this ointment and I used both and the swelling stopped for a while but my ear was still hurting a bit so I was waiting to take out my earrings but now for the past 2 days there's still pus coming out of the back of my earring and some blood. So like idk what I should do. My friend's telling me to take it out to make it better but I'm not sure😭.

is my piercing rejecting?

It's more noticeable in real life, but the top of my piercing there is something red there. I remember there used to be a bump but there isn't anymore (after i changed my original piercing to the one in the picture because i read that too big of a piercing decoration can irritate it) but there it's still red. it doesnt hurt anymore and ive had it for about 6 months. Also the third picture is how it looked like when i first got it and i noticed that the skin is way smaller than before.

Is it healing okay?

Got it done about two weeks ago. Haven’t changed the size yet. I’m anxious but it doesn’t hurt or feel tender. I feel like the skin at the top may be a sign of rejection…? Might be overthinking it.

Advice about removing and redoing my navel piercing

I got my navel pierced around 1.5 years ago. A piercer told me today that he thinks it is a surface piercing and that I will need to remove and repierce it.

I’m bummed because I have grown so attached to it, so I definitely plan to repierce. He mentioned that a floating navel might be better for my anatomy, can anyone verify this?/explain why? I thought my belly button only collapsed when I slouch, but I trust his opinion more than mine.

Also, when I repierce, is it possible to go through the same entry point but angle it deeper so the jewelry sits behind the lip? I would prefer not to have a mark where my previous piercing was.

Any advice would be super appreciated. Thank you so much!!

Is it time to let this rook go?

I got this pierced in August and the lady obviously didn’t know what she was doing because she pierced it in not the regular position I asked for. Don’t mind the ball it came off but shall I change the jewelry and see if the bumps will go or is it just time to take it out? I haven’t downsized it as of yet, but I still have been cleaning it twice a day.

Vertical Labret Irritation

Throwaway because I’m so embarrassed.

I got my vertical labret in late January. This popped up on Wednesday. It has grown a little since. No pain. No pus.

When looking at pictures, my piercer said to soak it with sterile saline for 30 minutes every day for a few weeks. I’d love extra opinions to quell my anxiety. Should I remove it and forever mourn the loss? Or is it possible to keep it in, the bump goes away, and I become a baddie again?

Edit: Adding to say, I spoke with a doctor and they didn’t think it was infected!

My lobe is placed offcenter

(other ear for reference)

I’m aspiring to stretch my ears further, but it’s very uneven. What do I even do here?

Is my lip piercing going to reject?

So I got my snake bites pierced. it’s been almost a week, and they are a little crusty and oozing yellowish liquid after I changed it to a bigger bar (I swelled too much). I know it’s normal for that stuff to happen, but my friend told me to only clean it with saline ONE time unless I sweat or get food on the outside. She told me it will reject if I clean it every day with saline wound wash. Is this correct? This is my first major piercing that I’ve wanted for so long and I really don’t want it to reject. After eating, I wash my mouth with salt water every time. Everything on the internet says something different. It doesn’t hurt or anything but im worried im doing something wrong.
