Wow - appreciation post

Holy shit I wasn't expecting that this will work so good. Tested on Mac on LAN. Everything works perfectly. Low lag, haptics, adaptive triggers, really good picture quality with HDR. Everything is there. Then tested on Samsung phone. All controller features are working flawlessly. No lagging. Then switched to 5G network for remote session. Again everything is just working with crisp HDR video stream. A bit of lagging but damn that's on friggin cellular network. Totally playable for non-competitive games. Great job! (Edit: typos)

🚀 New PXPlay Android Beta Update - More Fixes, More Control, Release Soon!

Following up on my previous post about the PXPlay v8.0.0 Android Beta (in case you missed it:

I've been listening closely to your feedback over the last days and pushed another round of improvements and refinements to make the experience even smoother before the final release.

You can access the beta by joining the tester program on the Google Play Store—just tap the sign-up button. (For now, the beta is exclusively available through the Play Store.)

🔧 New Fixes & Improvements Based on Your Feedback

🟢 Smarter Console Behavior

  • You can now configure a console as “Auto Connect” when the app launches
→ Jump straight into your session without extra taps

  • The Wake-Up button is now also available on PXPlay Home Screen widgets
→ Faster access directly from your device home screen

🧩 Home Screen Customization Upgrades

A lot of you mentioned the home screen needed more flexibility, so here we go:

  • You can now configure the layout to show:

    • Only one registered console card per screen
→ Perfect if you only use one console
  • The vertical background stripes can now be disabled
→ Cleaner and more minimal look via Appearance settings

⚡ Faster Remote Play Access

  • The Remote Play button no longer has to ask every time how to connect
  • You can now set your preferred default connection mode:
    • PSN
    • Manual IP

→ Saves an extra click every time you start a session

📢 Quick Reminder

This is still part of the v8.0.0 Beta, which already introduced:

  • Completely redesigned modern UI
  • Improved streaming controls & performance
  • Better DualSense support
  • Widgets & enhanced console management
  • Tons of quality-of-life improvements

(Full details in the original post above 👆)

🗓️ What's Next?

The final release is just around the corner 🚀
If no major issues pop up, it should be rolling out very soon.

As always:

  • All features will come to other ports as well
  • A roadmap update will follow after the official release

💬 Feedback

I really appreciate all the feedback I got.
If you run into issues or have more ideas, let me know!

As always, thanks again for all the support ❤️

UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE SAME WIFI

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased an app called PXPlay for Remote Play on my PlayStation 5. However, I’ve been running into an issue consistently. I keep getting a message saying that it’s unable to connect to the same WiFi network (I’ve attached a screenshot for reference).

I’ve heard a lot of great things about this app, but ever since I bought it, I’ve only been facing problems. It’s possible that I might have some settings configured incorrectly. I’m currently using it on an Android tablet.

If anyone has faced a similar issue or knows what might be going wrong, I’d really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance!

What do you think of this performance?

Running on a Nintendo Switch OLED with Android 11 LineageOS 18.

The PlayStation 5 is connected directly via cable at 600 Mbps, and the Nintendo Switch OLED is on an external network over Wi-Fi.

Appreciation Post

God bless PXPlay. I was hesitant to purchase the app a while back but since i ended up purchasing 3 versions of the app. Mainly drive the the android version. The latest beta is amazing. Been waiting on a dark theme for awhile. So far have experience zero issue on the latest beta

I have been using PXPlay to game PS5 and the occasional PS4 game. Using a ps4 fst model 720p streaming using FSR to play Bloodborne just feel rights. PXPlay might be reason why i end up buying a PS4 Pro and jailbreaking for the 1080p streaming.

Unsure why I can no longer remotely connect

I want to start off saying it did not play remotely very often, but a few times a year, it's mostly been local while i am home. So I'm not sure when this issue actually started.

I recently tried to connect remotely and receive a NAT type error. Unless I'm connected to my wifi, I cannot seem to get my phone to establish a connection. It's very frustrating.

Now before someone tells me I need to set it up on my router etc. I never had to set it up before. I have automatic remote connection enabled. I last used pxplay remotely probably in August with no issues during a car ride.

I'm unsure why I can all of a sudden not connect. My router is the same, my phone carrier is the same etc. I also cannot connect remotely with PS Remote Play app. I am only able to connect locally via my wi-fi.

It's been mostly a NAT Type 3 Issue. I also tried connecting via my mobile Hotspot and a VPN(NAT Type 2) as well and still had no luck.

I got a NAT Type unknown error today.

I'm hoping someone has answers that isn't to set up my router because it worked before without ever having to do that.

"PS5 DISCONNECTED"

Hey everyone, I’m facing an issue with PX Play (remote play for PS5) and could really use some help.

I’ve purchased and installed the app, and it does connect , I can briefly see my PS5 screen mirrored on my phone along with the virtual buttons. But the moment I press any button on my DualSense controller, it immediately says “PS5 disconnected,” and I have to reconnect again.

This keeps happening every single time.

Has anyone else faced this problem? Any fixes or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

PXPlay - New Android Beta Version Available on the Play Store (Feature Overview) 🚀

Disclaimer: All updates mentioned here will also come to other ports soon, if not already available.

A big new PXPlay update (v8.0.0) is finally available for Beta testing via the Google Play Store, it comes with a redesigned UI, better streaming controls, improved DualSense support, new home screen widgets, and lots of quality-of-life improvements across phone, tablet, foldable, and TV experiences. It is one of the biggest updates every released and I finally got time during the last few months to include some long requested features.

Besides all the other improvements, one of the biggest changes in this update is the new UI for Android and Android TV. PXPlay finally feels like a truly modern Android app and should look amazing now on both Android and Android TV. I had been planning this update for a long time and finally got the chance to work on it.

Thanks to everyone who shared feature requests in my recent Android update posts. I really tried to implement everything which was recommended, if something didn't make it, it may be added in a future version.

Highlights

  • New modern UI across the app with a cleaner, more polished look
  • Dark mode support for the new interface
  • Automatic remote registration without PIN where supported, making setup much faster (no need to be on the same network, no 8 digit PIN)
  • General performance improvements and many stability refinements

Streaming Improvements

  • Compact stream area mode for foldables, dual-screen, and flip devices
Display the stream in the top 50% of the screen for better multitasking or controller space
  • More aspect ratio options, including new zoomed modes like 21:9, 4:3, and more
  • Optional aspect ratio button during streaming
Quickly switch aspect ratio modes on the fly during a session
  • Toggleable performance overlay with live metrics:
    • Resolution
    • RTT
    • BT (bandwidth)
    • VL (% video loss)
    • DT (decoding time)
  • Configurable FSR sharpening parameter for better image tuning
  • Override settings for Remote Play and Local Play connections independently per registered console

Controller and Input

  • Improved gamepad button mapping UI
No more scrolling through huge old-style button lists and only map the buttons you need to change
  • DualSense haptic and adaptive trigger intensity now follows the console settings
  • DualSense lightbar colors are forwarded from the PlayStation to PXPlay (can optional also be shown onscreen)
  • New gamepad refresh rate setting, including Ultra
  • Individual toggle touch mode settings for different on-screen button groups
  • Option to disable portrait on-screen controller layouts if you want a cleaner portrait view

Home Screen and Console Management

  • New widget support to add registered consoles directly to the home screen and launch them quickly
  • Optional explicit wake-up button for registered consoles, available through the appearance settings
  • Registered console cards and dashboard improvements

UI / Quality of Life

  • More translation coverage and localization improvements
  • Many smaller UX refinements across settings, onboarding, and console management

General information

This update is focused on making PXPlay feel more modern, more flexible, and more powerful, especially for foldables, DualSense users, and anyone who wants deeper control over streaming quality and input behavior.

If you run into any issues or crashes, please let me know. You can join the beta via the Google Play Store. If nothing major comes up, the release is planned for next week.

I'll publish a roadmap outlining the next steps as well as the planned changes for other ports after the official release of the Android beta version.

> Note: The first two images are screenshots from a smartphone, the third is from a tablet, and the final one is from Android TV.

Those with 16:10 android devices, how does the 16:10 zoomed mode look?

I don’t have an android device so I can’t try the aspect ratio zoomed modes that was added to the new update, but no one seems to have posted pictures of how it looks. If anyone has images of how the different aspect ratio modes look in terms of cutting off image area it would be really helpful, particularly the 16:10 mode.

Input delay for Android version

Hi all.

I’m using an Odin 2 Portal (Android handheld) and noticed a pretty noticeable input delay when using PS Play for PS5 streaming.

What’s confusing is that when I use Apollo/Artemis to stream from my PC to the Odin, it feels basically lag free. Both my PC and my PS5 are connected via Ethernet, so I don’t think network is the issue.

I’ve already tried tweaking PS Play settings like bitrate, decoder, and frame pacing, but the delay is still there.

I’d appreciate it if someone can share their settings with me or offer any insights regarding this. Thanks in advance!

The new beta update is great so far!

I had a huge lagging problem even though I have stable fiber and after installing the update yesterday I've had zero lags and even the haptics are a lot more accurate, I like the new wake up feature as well🥳
