Government vs. Private Aura

HAHAHA skl, from private pala ako tapos nagswitch to gov (again) tapos parang nahaggard talaga ako and I realize nong makita ko sa facebook memories ko from my previous work, parang ang fresh ko talaga tas feeling ko healthy ako dun. O di kaya kahit anong try ng paganda or make up parang kopra parin na binilad sa init.

Doctor’s ADDITIONAL Fees in Public Hospital after Philhealth package

My father had a heart attack.

We rushed him to the hospital near our home which is private. It was confirmed there that it’s a heart attack and he needed angiogram. The hospital doesn’t have that so they suggested to transfer my father to another hospital but the cost of the procedure is too high. While we are researching for another option, he was confined there and they gave him meds to ease the pain. Since day 2 until discharged day, the doctor just communicated with us through phone and some days, no contact at all. In the end, we asked him what we’re waiting for and he told us he is just waiting for us to make a decision to transfer my father. When we told him we plan to transfer him to a public hospital, he became defensive and says it’s not safe. But we found out that my father can claim the AMI package by Philhealth. The doctor suggested that we go there personally as emergency. No recommendations from them so it’s faster. So we called the barangay ambulance to transfer my father. Our bill was 85k+ (PF was paid in cash, even debit is unacceptable).

So we transferred my father to a public hospital. I made sure they are honoring the AMI package. We got doctor’s name from a friend. Thankfully, my father had the angiogram and angioplasty on the night of the discharge day so we got to the semi-private ward before the end of the day.

Fast forward to the discharge day, our only excess in the bill after the AMI package is around 300+ including hospital bills and PF. PF coverage is around 150k+.

But here’s the catch, the doctor who performed the procedure is charging us ADDITIONAL FEE of 180k (with senior discount already). They deducted the supposedly Philhealth fee of 120k so we have 60k balance. They are making us feel guilty about it because the 120k from Philhealth will not be given to them in full because of deduction so we should at least pay the 60k. We begged to pay it in installments because we just loaned our money for the first hospital and we don’t have enough considering the meds we need to buy afterwards. They agreed but it was hell talking to them.

Then before leaving, AFTER we had cleared our bill, the doctor relieved the first one (because they had a trip during my dad’s confinement during recovery) was charging us 15k! They’re saying that it should be 20k and that’s already discounted. They’re even threatening us that we not go out the hospital without paying. I was so scared that time and just told them that we will go back and pay them in installments during my father’s follow up check ups.

After a few days of thinking, I realize what the 150k of philhealth coverage is for? Why are we paying extra fees? Is this really a standard? Where can I ask for help or advice on this matter? Can I consult DOH or Philhealth?

Note that they told us in the hospital that the doctors are private but I don’t even know what that means.

Currently spending at least 1500/week for the meds. And check ups at 800/visit.

Any insights would help!

Can I qualify for AICS (Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation) if six mos unemployed?

I’ve been unemployed since October 2025. My savings and backpay have gone out, and I’ve been receiving rejections. I hardly have anything left and it’s only my senior dad who gives me money from time to time. My freelance projects only give fees from time to time and I have debts.

Can I apply for the AICS? Can I just show my letter from my employer that I wasn’t regularized and my rejection letters from companies that I applied to? I know job hunting now is harder due to the crisis.

Should we emphasize more younger generations as government employees?

My thought about the that that between Baby Boomers and Generation X, certainly most of them would hold a traditional mindset and way of thinking which would influence government decisions and policies compared to younger generations which is drastically different and might benefit how a government operates. This stems from my observations on how common there are in the workplaces. Younger folks have a way of thinking that sets them apart for this 21st century world, evolving and changing and so is our views slowly.

Of course, a competent, educated, and intelligent individual is a must while at the SAME TIME, an efficient, visionary, and just government right.

Aligned with my career JO (SG 12) vs. Regular (SG 4) clerical

f25, licensed, csc passer, no backer, from a financially challenge family. older sister. need help.

i just got promoted into regular with sg 4, clerical job (legislative), but my duties and responsibilities is for sg 11 position due to the lack of personnel despite the request for additional. there'll be openings soon but the time when still remains uncertain, since the request for JO with sg 11 is likely to be approved. I've been working for almost two years now despite the completely different field of study. even started considering to take masters in public admin with the location being favorable. it's also one ride away from home and not much traffic. can take an hour of commuting from home to work.

now, there's an offer. JO sg 12, now that's alignment, engineer 1. however, I'll have to start from scratch and spend extra energy in waking up and commuting (double ride, traffic area)--which can solved by renting near the workplace aka additional expenses which didnt exist before.

I'm really torn. honestly, I'm thrilled thinking that i can practice my profession, but stability-wise... i have a senior who's still a JO. No benefits, no paid leaves, no bonuses, just salary. but the job is so fulfilling and filled with fun and learnings. not that I'm not learning in my job rn, but paperworks is slowly draining me out.

what do you think? im having a migraine thinking about this. i lack experience and this was my first job which an answered prayer back then, now I'm confused and anxious. huhu.

Need help: Pag-IBIG loan can’t be processed because of “pending loan application.” What should I do?

Hi guys, I tried applying for a Pag-IBIG Short-Term Loan online, but I got a notification saying they can’t process my request because there’s a pending loan application submitted to a Pag-IBIG branch.

What’s confusing is that I didn’t submit any loan application yet.

I only inquired at the Pag-IBIG Paseo de Roxas branch last April 6, but I didn’t file the form because my HR still needed to fill out the information at the back of the STL form. So technically, nothing was submitted.

Now the system says I have a pending loan, and it’s keeps rejecting my new application.

Has anyone experienced this?

Do I need to visit the branch again— or is it possible to request cancellation online through Virtual Pag-IBIG or their hotline?

Postal ID proof of address — pwede ba naka-name sa landlord/parent?

Hi! Planning to apply for a Postal ID and I just want to ask about the proof of address requirement.

Okay lang ba mag-submit ng utility bill (like electricity/water) as proof of address kahit hindi naka-name sakin? For example, nakapangalan siya sa landlord namin or sa father ko. Tatanggapin kaya yun, or kailangan talaga under my name?

Thank you in advance!

What to do? TIN ID

So, nakita ko po yung nag tanong dito if legit ba yung TIN ID nya na nagpaasikaso sa fixer.

I have mine, too.

And ayun, no information found.

Ano po gagawin ko ngayon? Need pa ba ipa verify sa BIR mismo before getting new ID or pwede na mag apply sa egov app?

SSS Retirement Fund/Pension Question

Hi.

I would like to ask if anyone here has a similar experience.
I applied for my father's retirement claim sa SSS nung Feb. By March 6, may nareceive kaming pera from them. And there was an email about it na approved na daw yung claim.

I think it covered 2months from his retirement date which is Dec 22, 2025.

I did not apply for the advance 18 months lump sum disbursement.

Now, until now April 20 we have not yet receive any money for his monthly pension.
Not sure kung kailan darating, im just concerned kasi parang late na masyado.

What to do?

How to help a rape victim?

I only heard from a former classmate na may rape victim siyang nakita. She was apparently raped by her lolo since elementary pa siya. Wala akong info if she has parents or where she lives but if I find her how do I help her?

Wala rin kaming pera masyado but I cannot let her continue to be raped until now. Even if she isn't raped anymore I don't think she has anywhere else to go if she relied on her rapist for food and water and other necessities.

I do not believe she has a family or siblings to help her kasi if that were true she would have gotten help.

Legit ba TIN ID ko?

Got this nung 2nd year college ako through “fixer”.

I’ve been using this whenever hinahanapan ako ng valid Id. However, nag try ako i verify siya kanina sa BIR website ORUS at ang lumabas ay hindi daw nag mamatch sa database nila.

Graduating student po ako at nag aayos na ko ng mga documents at ID na need for work kaya ngayon ko lang po naisipan i check sa BIR website.
