Eto yung panahon na naka-dial up pa kami sa bahay, like 54 KBps. KB yes.

I got so curious na I went to this computer shop near SM Bacoor.

Up to 3 days. So sign-up, sign-up tapos try.

So baba ng 1 map, tapos may mga Poring and Willow. Novice with cotton shirt and knife. That's it. No red pots whatsover. So mas madalas pang naka-upo yung novice ko just to regen ng hp.

So sobrang hirap habulin yung DEX. Imagine, umabot ako ng hunter, with very minimal DEX.

This was Loki server. That time, Chaos-Loki-Iris na yung servers. Like WTF that was 10,000z and it's 2003. Ang hirap ipunin nun at that time.

Eventually, nakaipon ng gamit pero never ako nagka-boss card all my life sa Level Up Games pRO server. Tandang-tanda ko one time, yung merchie ko nagpapa-level-up sa Ant Hell. May bumagsak na Vitata Card (for heal). Naunahan ako ng langgam, Pierre ata yun or Deniro. Kinain yung card. Tapos pagkapatay ko, wala na yung card. I was traumatized siguro like days.

Pero we never missed the in-person event sa WTC. Chance to meet your guild members eh, may EB (eyeball) para makita kung sino talaga yung chixilog -- chicks na may itlog.

Eto rin yung time na national anthem ng mga RO players yung Chixilog ng Kamikazee... you know the lyrics... "Magdamag, nagaabang, maglalaro kaya. Ang dalagang nagtatago sa alyas na Maldita. Sa dating tagpuan, sa bayan ng Prontera... sa tabi ng tindahan, ng magic at sandata..."

I recall one time na sobrang appreciative ng lead vocals sa crowd that he can play / sing that song for so long.

Pero sobrang "damit" yung character nung guy sa video, like to the teeth.

Tapos 'pag login n'ya, hubad character n'ya. Hacked. At sobrang gumuho mundo n'ya sa video.

Nagkaroon ng option to migrate sa iRO and na-migrate silang lahat dun. I have like 4-5 accounts na puno yung slots... so mga 30+ characters yata.

As in naka-video, kakausapin. Tapos pag sobrang deadma talaga, walang sagot, walang emoji /gg yun reported. Dapat detailed ang screenshot mo, or video at dapat no doubt, bot yung ni-report mo. Kasi ma-ban lang ang character mo at that time, sobrang iiyak ka talaga promise.

Ikaw ba naman, pag-login mo, makikita mo "your character has been banned until 2050" like life sentence talaga. Kaya ang reporting nun ng mga lumalabag sa batas dapat talaga, full-backed up ng proof as in beyond reasonable doubt.

Na-recall ko lang kasi last year, na-ban yung 4 year account ko. Walang screenshot whatsoever. You're banned.

Yung mga hindi nakalaro ng RO that tme, probably would have no idea. Sabihin mo yan during the hayday ng Ragnarok. Ay na-ban 99 hunter mo with +6 all items boss carded yung iba? Gawa ka na lang ng bago". Ewan ko sa inyo, pero ako, at that time... trauma talaga ako".

Sino naka-relate sa feeling ng ma-ban? Imagine, Geffen, Izlude, Morroc 2003.

Katabi ko pa talaga ang DTI sa video message ko vs Reddit, DTI and about ITA of 2023

Link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMIELJjFL7s

For today's video, I discussed why it's important for social media platforms in the Philippines to have a physical office or legal representative sa bansa.

This is the story of my struggle on the Internet Transaction Act of 2023 and DTI's incompetence in implementing it.

[Price: 10,000-15,000] Will file motion for reconsideration, look for a lawyer a

Good morning Redditors.

I have never done this in my life, but here’s my shot. I am struggling to finance my advocacy on amending the ITA of 2023 requiring ALL social media platforms accessible in the country to have either a physical office OR a legal representative, for better social media accountability.

The past year, I have been dealing with my complaint versus Reddit on their injustice towards my 5 year old (na sanang) account with 70k+ (or more) na karma. Allegedly, as per Reddit ADMIN (yes, employee s’ya ng Reddit na working remotely here sa PH) yung spamming na sinasabi sa “breaking the rules” reason ng PERMABAN ko sa isang account u/marianoponceiii (sana marevive ko using Ygg Leaf) ay affiliate link.

Suddenly, I was flooded by comments and questions asking me, ano ba talaga pinaggagagawa ko with my account. It’s water under the bridge, at tulad nung conspiracy theorist nung Siargao group, you can post my Reddit profile whatever you want and accuse me of everything from being an Israeli bot to being pabibo, pa-smart ass. I don’t care. So long as yung ginagawa n’yo is within the bounds of PH Law, I don’t give a poo-poo hat.

My blogs are there, my Pexel and Wikimedia Commons are there, all my socials are there. Tutal naman mahilig kayo mag-dig ng past, eh ‘di go all the way and dig everything about me.

It won’t hinder me from filing a Motion for Reconsideration at the DTI Secretary as suggested by a Reddit user, kasabay ng pagpa-file ng complain sa ARTA versus DTI na ayaw ipatupad ng maayos yung ITA of 2023. And what’s wrong with using ChatGPT, really?

The poor guy got downvoted massively, just for mentioning AI. Sa opisina nga namin, ine-encourage kami to maximize the use of AI. We’re doing LinkedIn just to use AI to our advantage. Really.

In short, gusto kong i-file sa Court of Appeals yung magiging decision ng DTI sa Motion for Reconsideration na ipa-file ko bukas. My early shit ako today eh. And I have to consult the lawyer dun sa Guadalupe Nuevo, who’s very kind in charging me an affordable fee of P200 in contrast sa mga katabi n’ya na P1,000 ang singil sa Affidavit. And people here on Reddit are clueless why ordinary people like me are non-fond of lawyers.

Sa BPO industry kasi, where most of my career is spent, we are always thought to avoid jargons, to speak plain English na kahit mga elementary lang na US, UK, Australia Clients ang kausap namin, maiintindihan kami.

Sharing the incompetence of the DTI in my case versus Reddit

SKL. Long post ahead

Over a year ago, um-attend ako ng Reddit moderator workshop sa isang gallery sa Makati. Yung isa, according sa LinkedIn employed by Reddit mismo but working remotely (sa Pinas most likely).

So workshop, workshop… games, activities, snack and giving of certificate of attendance. Ang highlight is yung paggawa ng bagong sub na unique – so our group came up with sub Paano Ba To. Apat kami sa small group namin – so tinuruan kami mag-setup ng new sub, rules, mod tools etc. So parang kumuha lang ng idea si Reddit sa min for a new sub that will attract new visitors.

I learned na Reddit is actively doing these workshops for 1 reason – to increase viewership, user engagement on Reddit, by creating new subs and assigning new mods to not-so-regulated subs. Syempre nga naman, more activities on Reddit means more revenue for them… sa ads placement na lang paldo na sila. They can even afford to employ a Filipino locally to handle Reddit PH. So may pera talaga sa PH community ng Reddit. Sa event na ‘to napanalunan ko yung 1-year subscription ko sa Reddit roughly P3,000 a year.

A few weeks later, na-permaban yung account kong nabigyan ng premium subscription – 4 years old account with 70k+ na walang history ng warning man lang. Banned, across Reddit platform, permanently. “Breaking the rules”, “Spamming” ang sinabing reasons ng Mod. So since kilala ko na nga yung PH Mod ng Reddit PH, nag-message ako sa kanya regarding my account. Sinabi n’ya na yung violation ko raw was “affiliate linking” which is NOT clearly defined by Reddit rules. It was a gray area daw. So ia-appeal daw n’ya sa Reddit pero wala ding nangyari. The permaban is still there.

So nag-file ako sa Consumer Welfare ng DTI at sa DICT, CICC, asking for unbanning my account dahil nga, hindi clear yung violation and sanction ko. Nothing they can do about it since internal process. But they did agree na it’s a violation of the Consumer Law since I’m not enjoying my subscription due to the ban. The TOS of Reddit says no refund whatsoever, but Consumer Welfare said, PH Consumer Law is above ALL TOS of ALL COMPANIES operating in the PH, Reddit included.

So natuloy sa mediation meeting via Teams yung kaso, no show si Reddit, hanggang sa DTI Adjudication Division, who dismissed the case due to lack of jurisdiction. May merit ang case, kahit na 1) hindi daw ako subscriber dahil hindi ako mismo ang bumili ng subscription (yung mod ng Reddit ang bumili for me) at 2) walang opisina ang Reddit na pagdadalhan ng sulat from DTI.

This was affirmed by the DTI Secretary nung naglabas ng decision on my appeal against DTI-FTEB. They cited Department Administrative Order No. 20-02, Series of 2020 (DAO 20-02), saying it is required to be done by physical means, either through personal service or registered mail/accredited courier.

Aminado si DTI Secretary na yes, may communication from Reddit to CICC who messaged them on my behalf, but electronic communications is not enough.

Nag-send ng Snail Mail ang PH Government sa Meta, posted online yung copy, at binigyan sila ng 48 hours to acknowledge yung complaint letter and up to 7 days to reply.

Tapos ako pa gagawa ng Notice of Appeal and being non-lawyer, mahihirapan ako. Mas mahal pa kung magha-hire ako ng lawyer to draft it. Not economically feasible.

So dun na lang ako mag-focus at least libre lang mangulit ng mga senador to amend the Internet Transactions Act of 2023 to include such section.

Pag may nakita akong petition na ganito or group na naga-advocate nito, definitely sasali ako, at ia-advocate ko na Syempre all social media companies should be held accountable.

Hangga’t ganito ang mentality ng karamihan, eh we truly deserve the government we have right now.

Reddit and Facebook are sampling ng ugali ng mga Filipino – and it’s toxic talaga. I use to think na Redditors are somehow, more intelligent when it comes to discussion but sadly, same lang din sa FB. Dismissing any posts by ad hominem, insults, name-calling and dismissing your post as mema lang, pasikat, pabibo. I’ve been insulted to the roof, the same way “intellectuals” insulted DDS, and DDS “smart-shaming” others. It’s a vicious cycle here and the healthy discussion that Reddit was supposed to champion, I don’t know what sub has it.

So yeah, we really deserve the shit that we’re in right now. Thanks for reading.

Filipino Redditors' reaction to the proposed: Palestinian Center in Siargao, Philippines

Today I made a petition just to get the opinions of my fellow Filipinos on the proposal of establishing a Palestinian Center in Siargao, Philippines (or any of the 7,641 islands).

This is in stark contrast to the petition filed by a group of Siargao locals opposing the establishment of a Jewish Center.

I used my alternate account u/amendra11967 and to my surprised, they never bothered checking the author. They've automatically reject the proposal completely.

No to Jewish Center -- 5,181 signatures, and counting

Yes to Palestinian Center -- 1 signature (me)

I thought online Filipino Redditors would support it, because they keep on commenting "Free Palestine" to every post and comments "defending" the Jews / Zionists / Israelis.

It's insane -- the rejection, of a center or place for Palestinian Refugees or Palestinian Refugees

I even encouraged my Filipino Redditors to put some action on the "Free Palestine" chants and actually try to do something about it.

I mentioned in the proposal that this is a way of compensating the Palestinians because in 1947, the Philippines voted YES to the UN Partition Plan, under pressure of the US government to the then President Manuel Roxas (1st Philippine President after WWII).

I've also mentioned on the petition that the Philippines have a long history of accepting refugees -- Jews fleeing Nazi Germany, Vietnamese during the Vietnam War, Rohingya Muslims (we offered but no one came), and Russian "white" refugees. So why not make an effort to at least say that the Philippines has an open-door policy of welcoming refugees.

I even pitch via email, that proposal to the Palestine embassy here in Manila.

I also emphasized that the Philippines recognized the State of Israel and the non-member UN status of Palestine in the proposal. But it was a DIFFICULT sell to my fellow Filipinos, even to supporters of the "Free Palestine" movement.

Reasons?

  1. Who will pay for the entire thing -- I said Qatar, Turkiye, UNRWA, EU nations that loves to donate to refugees. The Philippines will just offer the land for lease or purchase.

  2. Why Siargao, Philippines -- because it's a paradise on Earth. The perfect place to "star-over" with their lives. It even has a moniker of "United Republic of Siargao" because it is open to all tourists.

  3. Palestinian will "disturb" the existing local culture -- I suggest settling them to Bangsamoro provinces (Autonomous Region for Muslims in the Philippines) or remote islands in Palawan. The still would not accept it.

  4. The Palestinians have a history of being "problematic" that's why their neighbors don't accept them either -- Well, they probably prefer a distant land somewhere in the Pacific so that they could start "fresh"

  5. They are not allowed to preach here -- Informed them that the Constitution of the Philippines guarantees separation of church and state, as well as freedom to practice any religion and that Constitutional Right extends to foreigners. We even have a "Religious Tourism" which is open to foreigners wanted to preach their faith in the Philippines. We even have religion being called "cult" but we still allow expression and building of religious buildings.

And so many other rejections that I concluded, it's really a hard sell, even to those shouting "Free Palestine". Most of the comments and my rebuttals are in English so you could read them on that alternate Reddit account if you want to be "hurt" more of Filipino's impression of the Palestinians: u/amendra11967

You can read the proposal and tell me, why it's a hard sell to Filipinos. See you in the comments!

Next step, Court of Appeals

This is the reason why I am advocating that social media companies operating in the Philippines should have a physical office OR legal representative in the country, so that cases versus them (FB, IG, X, Reddit, TikTok) would proceed and not just dismissed due to lack of jurisdiction.

Email correspondence is not valid. Even if it is the CICCC emailing Redding on my behalf, and they are responding, it is useless in the eyes of our current law because they need to serve the notice VIA SNAIL MAIL. How 90s is that ruling.

This is in spite of having the Internet Transactions Law of 2023 (Republic Act No. 11967) wherein it specifically says:

Section 3 – Scope and Coverage states that the law applies:

“…where one (1) of the parties is situated in the Philippines or where the digital platform, e-retailer, or online merchant is availing of the Philippine market and has minimum contacts therein…”

It is also discuss through various websites, such as this:

“The Internet Transactions Act (ITA) of 2023 (RA 11967) mandates that foreign online platforms and merchants targeting the Philippine market are subject to local accountability, even without a physical presence. It enforces this through "minimum contacts" principles, requiring registration, data disclosure, and potential compliance with DTI takedown orders.”

Source: https://arangkadaphilippines.com/beta/2024/01/22/internet-transactions-act/#:~:text=The%20ITA%20mandates%20extraterritorial%20application,03%20dated%204%20April%202017).

Source: https://oneasia.legal/en/wp-content/themes/standard_black_cmspro/img/OAL-Philippines-Newsletter-Article-Internet-Transactions-Act-of-2023.pdf

Sadly, our law is toothless against these giant companies.

Well, what can I expect? Mark Zuckerberg ignored even the letter of the Philippine Government to Meta, via SNAIL MAIL, even though that letter demands Facebook to acknowledge the government's letter within 48 hours and give the reply within 7 days.

I am asking, those who have valid grievances versus Facebook, Reddit, Instagram or any social media platform, speak up, louder. Our law is not sufficient. Our legislators is not aware of this loophole in the law.

Things that the advocates of “No To Chabad House in Siargao, Philippines” petition got wrong

There is an on-going petition on Change.org and they summarized it as:

“A Chabad House, of the Chabad religious movement, is planned to be built in General Luna, Siargao, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines. This is an expansion of the existing Chabad movement in Siargao” Source: (just ChatGPT the link. The post might be deleted due to promoting).

The stated reasons for the opposition to such plans are:

1.       Zoning and High Risk of Continued Expansion à this is an LGU issue
2. Absence of Community Approval and the Risk of Cultural Erosion à this is an LGU issue
3. Safety and Security: Rampant Misconduct by Israeli Tourists à this is NOT proven, yet
4. Racial Superiority, Religious Elitism, Division: The Alienation of Local Businesses and Various Filipino Communities à This is where the MAJORITY of the issue is
5. Solidarity With The Oppressed and Allegiance To Philippine History à this is a political issue

Here are some of the things I noticed in the petition:

“There was no proper consultation or notification provided to local residents.” à This is definitely an LGU issue. The Filipinos of Siargao should actually be more vocal on the LGU and PH Government’s inaction of their complaint.

Israeli tourists* having served military service pose a high probability of war-related PTSD, *causing unstable behaviors in a peaceful island.” à This is allegation. Unless the petitioners could produce a document from a neutral, medical community to prove otherwise. Singling out a group of people out of ALL THE TOURISTS visiting the island, is outright discrimination.

Their petition didn’t even include a detailed breakdown of the number of tourists visiting Siargao, by NATIONALITY. Definitely a RED FLAG for discrimination

“The establishment of Chabad House/Israeli Cultural Center will inevitably invite more IDF soldiers to Siargao, bringing with them various war-related traumas. These soldiers must be treated by professionals through psychiatric sessions, not 'fun' by alcohol consumption, which tends to happen as a leisurely tourist activity here in Siargao.” à They can petition the LGU and the PH Government to ask for additional requirement FOR ALL TOURIST to produce a document saying they’re physically, mentally and emotional sound. Requiring such requirement for IDF soldiers along is outright, discrimination.

“The historical and ongoing conflict between Israelis and their Muslim neighbors in the Middle East is a warning we can not and must not ignore.” à Historically, the Philippines was NEVER affected by the conflict in the Middle East. There are certain Filipinos however, that are more sympathetic of the Jews from Nazi Germany, Manuel Quezon, who opened the doors for them.

First Philippine President Manuel Roxas was pressured by the US government then, to vote YES in the UN Partition Plan. After the events of WWII, the Quezon Jews as they call them, quietly left the Philippines to live mostly in Israel and the US, proving that they have no mentality of conquering certain lands.

“There are already threats from both Filipino Muslims and Israelis on social media. Allowing the construction of a Chabad House could escalate tensions in the region, causing unease for the residents and locals who have long been living here before the influx of Israelis.” à Everyone in the Philippines knows how social media are the #1 source of disinformation. So quoting reports from social media is definitely a no-no in a legitimate petition.

“Although Chabad says it does not promote conversion to Judaism, it does promote conversion to Noahidism - a Jewish religious movement aimed at non-Jews, with laws preached by the Chabad movement.” à Among the 3 Abrahamic Religions, the Jews are the only ones who do not proselytize. Rabbis discourage conversions (to Judaism). See the reasons here: https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/248165/jewish/Why-Do-Rabbis-Discourage-Conversions.htm

A little history of the Noahide Laws:

The first explicit presentation of the Noahide laws is found in the Tosefta, a work dated to the late second century. The text reads:

Subsequently in a Tannaitic work, Seder Olam, and in the Babylonian Talmud, we find virtually the same statement quoted, except that the prohibition of blasphemy precedes that of idolatry. Furthermore, this text calls blasphemy birkat Ha-Shem (literally, “blessing the name of God”), which is a transparent example of a term used in its opposite meaning. In several midrashic texts we find the order of presentation as follows: (1) idolatry, (2) blasphemy, (3) adjudication, with the last four commandments in the same order as in the three aforementioned works.

In the Amoraic elaboration of this baraita in both the Talmud and Midrash, the sequence of these laws and their content is traced back to Gen. 2:16: “And the Lord God commandedman saying, ‘frome very tree of the garden you may surely eat.’”

The Tosefta (Jewish Babylonian Aramaic: תוספתא*, romanized: tosep̄tā "supplement, addition") is a compilation of* Jewish Oral Law from the late second century CE, the period of the Mishnah and the Jewish sages known as the Tannaim. Sources: https://asknoah.org/#:~:text=G%2Dd's%20Moral%20Code%20for,guidelines%20for%20truly%20ethical%20behavior.

https://www.noahideacademy.org/post/understanding-noahidism-the-seven-laws-of-noah-and-their-observance?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20753975401&gbraid=0AAAAADQqD0vLkIwtd401vEyDre0KdEKnB&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkYLPBhC3ARIsAIyHi3SDhe3411f_XY4FO1sf6xn8_D8HnD0YUYj3JPbxYdb55Mj_8uXqHqkaAlRyEALw_wcB

The claim that the Noahidism - a Jewish religious movement aimed at non-Jews is a lie, because we’ll go back to the first point: Jews do not pro proselytize. To a Jew, there are only two kinds of people – Jews and Gentiles. Christians are gentiles, as well as Muslims. The Law of Noah basically just tells everyone – people of all faith in the world, Buddhist, Shiks, Hindus – to practice a “law” that is common TO ALL PEOPLE. These laws are considered the foundational ethical code for all mankind, rather than just Jewish people. Source: https://asknoah.org/#:~:text=G%2Dd's%20Moral%20Code%20for,guidelines%20for%20truly%20ethical%20behavior.

The Noahide (or Noachide) moral code of Seven Universal Commandments was given to Noah and his children after the Flood. It assured them that humanity would never degenerate into a jungle again. It prohibits (1) idolatry, (2) blasphemy, (3) homicide, (4) forbidden relations, (5) robbery, and (6) eating meat that was taken from a still-living animal (cruelty to animals), and it also includes a requirement (7) for societies to establish courts of justice. The details included in these fundamental commandments provide the guidelines for truly ethical behavior. (Same source)

Records and footages from our ASEAN neighbors reflect the same Israeli attitudes and behaviors of superiority, entitlement, and blatant disregard to their hosts - the people who welcome them as visitors. à Philippine Law is not influenced by other nation’s experience from certain people. We have our own experiences from tourists visiting our islands and we can decide for ourselves, without outside sources.

“We stand in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.” à The Israeli-Palestine issue is a very complex matter. The PH government recognizes both Israel (country) and Palestine (not a fully UN member but rather “Permanent Observer State”). Source: https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/04/1148351

As Filipinos, we should STAY AWAY from this issue and remain apolitical. (Don’t take it from me though, because I have bias towards Jews / Israelis / Zionists). Think about this as a LOGICAL person who is THINKING and is not easily fall for propaganda.

“We, the natives of Siargao and other Philippine islands,” à The petitioners should change this to Filipinos residing in Siargao instead.

As taught in our history class, at school, there are no such thing as “natives” in the Philippines. There are 3 waves of migrants to the Philippines though: “Dawnmen” (cavemen), Aetas or Negritoes and the Malays. Source: https://www.philippine-history.org/early-filipinos.htm

Saying, “I’m a native of the Philippines” is a very hard thing to prove. It’s easier to say, I’m Filipino.

Bottomline: the complaints of the residents of Siargao is more a LGU and PH Government issue, and their inaction, towards the locals.

This is also influenced by pro-Pally propaganda that is very vocal on social media and is bandwagon-ing on the current issue of the Iran-Israel war and high-fuel prices. This has nothing to do with a certain group of tourists. We as Filipinos should deal this issue towards ALL TOURISTS.

I'm a rare Filipino supporter of Israel, amidst a wave of zombie, "Palestinian cause" supporters in the Philippines

There's a large, hivemind of Greta Thunburg-like zombies in the Philippines, specially in the tourist island spot of Siargao, that is hiding their disguised of the Jewish / Israeli / Zionists identify. These "activists" believed everything the propaganda lies of Palestine is feeding them -- including Israel being labeled as colonizers, fake Jews, Israel committing "genocide", all the way down to Netanyahu being the villain in their war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It doesn't help that the fuel prices in the Philippines skyrocketed the highest in Asia after Iran's terrorist action of hitting merchant ships passing by the Straight of Hormuz.

I'm proud that the Philippines was the only Asian country who voted YES during the UN's Partition Plan in 1947, but now, I'm totally saddened by Filipinos protesting against a planned Jewish Center / Chabad House in Siargao. A lot of Filipinos in Siargao are singling out the Jewish / Israeli / Zionist tourists out of A LOT of nationalities visiting the place, as the only race / religion / nationality being entitle and rude to locals.

These so-called "activists" barely scratched the surface of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and focused mainly on their allege "genocide" of Israel against the Gazans, who largely cheered during the Hamas massacre of civilian Israelis celebrating life at a music festival. They can't even acknowledge that genocide is exactly what Hamas did -- and a lot of Palestinians celebrated it.

[Edit: You ask questions in the comment section, so that I could answer, with links from reliable sources. Then I would ask my question and can you please do the same thing?

Also, what are the sources/websites that are generally accepted to both Israelis and Palestinians?

Also, I immediately block those who throw profanities at me. And those accusing me that I'm a bot or propaganda of Israel. My socials are on my Reddit profile. Check it out before making that assumption. Or at least put a social media link in yours. Thanks]
