Q about Onexplayer Super X

I have a few questions.

I am looking for a portable gaming device. I already have switch 2 but I want something stronger with bigger screen. 16" laptops are too big, 15" looks ok, I have heard bad things about 14" regarding thermal.

I came across super V and X and need more info.

  1. How is the booting speed? I haven't watched a video showing how it boots. How long does it take until it enters windows screen?
  2. How is the thermal and fan noise? I have heard about high pitch and loud noise. If I use it at 45W max, would it still be very loud or much better than 80W mode?
  3. I don't mind using lower resolution to run games at 60fps, but I don't want stretched out and blurry images. I would rather use smaller window size mode instead of full screen mode for better image quality. But is running games at window mode cause less FPS or more heat and power?
  4. Do you think I am better off with 15" lenovo legion 5, 5060 RTX?

X1 Pro AI370 initial impressions

Just got my X1 Pro last night. It’s the AI 370 model with 32 GB ram and 1 TB storage.

Here are my initial impressions as someone with an MSI claw 8 AI, and also owned a legion go previously.

Tablet itself: feels super premium, surprisingly. Has a bit of weight to it, but I wouldn’t say too much. So far everything has updated and functioned great. I’ve been playing games plugged in, on 30 W mode with full resolution and it’s handled basically everything very well. Mine has 2 500 GB hard drives installed, which I thought was weird. They also seem to be slower read/write compared to my claw.

Keyboard: seems nice for a free keyboard. I’ll probably never really use it.

Controllers: so far, absolute trash. I cannot believe they would ship a unit this nice with controllers this horrible. They feel like cheap, dollar tree controllers. The sticks are the worst I have ever felt, triggers feel like they are going to fall apart at any second, the plastic they used is so cheap and thin they feel like they’ll flex, crack, and break at any minute. And the left bumper doesn’t work at all on mine. I have tested it in game and also in their gamepad testing software and it’s not registering any key press.

I’m actively looking into 3rd party controllers. I have a few days to send it back, so before I do I want to see if one x will either replace the controllers otherwise back it will go. Long term, I think the solution would just be 3rd party controllers. The tablet part is so nice, that I’m hesitant to sent it back just over that part. The screen is so much nicer than the claw 8 inch screen.

Either way, the rumors about the horrible controllers are true. That needs to be their main focus on any successor because wow are they bad.

A bit of gaming at the office before work!

A bit of WoW in the office before the workday starts. Got in early and decided to mess around for an hour or so. Good frame rate even at 10w. Can’t wait to really see how well it runs this weekend at the cabin.

Apex TPU Case Mod

PSA the tpu case is cut badly. Battery tether won’t fit, battery detachment is finicky, vent cuts are inaccurate and adds a bit of weight too. Top never fully sits on the top and blocks a lot of right angle adapters.

I decided to trim it by removing the top completely and the back panel that blocks the tether cable/battery from smoothly attaching off and on. Halves the added weight too.

Happy with the results until a better case arrives.

Second APEX with og tpu for reference.

Apex controller bricked after update — no support, any help?

Good afternoon,

Does anyone have an idea how to help me?

I traveled to China and purchased an Apex, which I brought back with me to Brazil. I ended up buying it second-hand from a Chinese seller, and everything was working perfectly at first. However, after the latest update, the controller bugged out and became bricked.

I saw on forums that I should contact support, but OneXPlayer is refusing to assist me because the original purchase was not made through the official website. Unfortunately, I no longer have contact with the seller.

Isn’t it unfair to refuse support in this situation? I’ve always liked the brand, but right now I’m quite disappointed.

Selling apex for parts?

I'm kinda threw with onexplayer. Their customer Service is shit. I have a unit with a defective left analog stick (already after a handful of uses) and overall has some kind of weird defect that has caused games to not run right. Ive reinstalled windows, drivers, etc and now tbe joystick just decided to get stuck drifting to the lower left. It does it in calibration and just about everywhere.

Realistically what could I hope to get selling it for parts?

Super x or v ?

I am debating between x and V.

I was gonna get 385 model for X because price difference is only $100 yet as strong as 395.

One thing that worries me is that neither system can run AAA games without scaling and 1080p ish resolution if I want 60+ fps.

I also care about fan noise and thermal so 45-50w is probably the max I would use.

V is weaker than X so it will have less fps at the same wattage. However, X can only use FSR3.1 whereas V can use FSR or the superior XESS. If I can get better picture quality, I think I can sacrifice about 5-10 fps as long as I can still get 60fps or higher with 45w in games such as RE4 ,9, pragmata at 1080p resolution. My question is, can V even get 60fps in these games and is XESS much better than FSR?

No audio M1+GPU2 via oculink

Hey folks!

Just got a onexplayer M1 in to pair with my onexgpu2 particularly to use oculink.

After getting Windows setup I turned off everything, connected oculink to eGPU, eGPU to TV and I have video but no audio. (EGPU is also powering M1 via tb4)

Didn’t see anything obvious on audio settings. I can see the TV in the settings too. What could the issue be?

ONEXPLAYER X2 MINI

Does anyone have an estimate of when pre-orders for the ONEXPLAYER X2 Mini might start?

I know the teaser is already out, but I have not seen any official pre-order date yet.

Also, where do you think it will most likely appear first:

the official ONEXPLAYER store, Indiegogo, or another retailer?

Any guesses or info would be appreciated.

Super X SSD Upgrade

Has anyone successfully upgraded their Super X nvme ssd to a double sided 8TB? Heat or throttling issues? I know the official line is single sided only, but that was also true of my Legion Go 2 and my upgrade of that to 8TB has been without issues.

I have the Lexar NM790 8TB ready to install, but also a single sided 4TB Samsung 990 Pro as a fallback if room really is inadequate.

Windows update and messed up my X1, need help.

Brightness has disappeared entirely and is running on max and i cant find anything to lower it.

I have a video of my game running at extreme low fps despite being at 30w. The game is Ball X Pit which is a game that doesn't require much to run well however with whatever happened it became extremely laggy

Display issue

Hi All.

Just wandering what everything thinks this is on my display?

It’s not pixel related and it’s not surface damage.

I’m wandering if it’s pressure on the screen, maybe glue, genuinely don’t have a clue.

Any ideas?
