NSFW Headcanons

So, about a month ago, someone asked what our NSFW headcanons are for various DetCo characters. I thought that was funny. And after some shooting the shit with my wife while on vacation, we covered most characters that we could think of something funny to put in. Then I went a bit extra and made it into a presentation. XD

A couple of notes:

  1. All characters are assumed to be 18+ for the purposes of this exercise.

  2. This was made for fun, first and foremost.

  3. This is just my personal headcanons. Feel free to post your own (or for characters I forgot/didn't have anything to say) in the comments.

These are in no particular order, but I did try to keep couples/ships on the same page.

Enjoy!

Kazunari Kouchi deserve more love in this fandom. He's behind to some of the best movies and anime-original episodes of the franchise. He was the one who actually understood what Detective Conan is.

There are some more he contributed: He worked for most of the TV specials, all the OVAs and Magic Files, most of the old movies and even the Gosho Aoyama's Short Stories. And of course, some more anime-original episodes.

He was the GOAT when it comes to heart and emotions in the series. He got to write so many ShinRan stories through his contributions to the anime, along with giving recurring and minor characters, like Heiji, highlight in his scripts, which it's something we wouldn't see nowadays besides the movies. His best works are definitely the movies and the OVAs, but some of his anime-original episodes are good too.

May he rest in peace and that his contributions won't be forgotten in time.

This post will include spoilers up to chapter 1162 (I think).

Hello, everyone, I started reading the manga in October and today I caught up with chapter 1162, I enjoyed it a lot and wanted to talk about it. Unlike what seems to be the majority here I’ve never seen one minute of the anime, so maybe I’m not in on all the jokes, I’ve also not read or seen any of the spin-offs so I would like to ask already which ones (including the movies) are the good ones, I’ll probably take a while to read them because I want a break to be honest, so far, I’m planning to read the Kaito spin-off and that one about the culprit shadow. Also, unlike most I read the entire thing with the official translation, so I’m having to look up the character names online (from what I’ve seen using the English names is frowned upon).

My favourite characters: My boy Heiji, Ai, Ran, Jirokichi, Takagi and, of course, the greatest detective in Japan, Sleeping Kogorou.

Least favourite: Rum (Wakita would be here as well if they weren’t the same guy). I agree with what seems to be a popular opinion here that there are way too many characters, most grating for me are the “flashback cop squad”, I don’t dislike them per se, but there’s way too many characters, I agree.

Favourite case: I don’t know the name, but probably that one where Kogorou and Ai want to investigate Yoko Okino and the football star.

Least favourites: Basically, all Junior Detective League cases before Ai’s introduction.

I also agree that the main plot has been dragged on a bit too long, but this problem, in my view, intertwines with the “too many characters” one, I was having fun with the main plot before Rum became a super boss.

But overall, I enjoyed almost everything and I’m glad to have read it, I look forward to enter the community.

I think this is all I have to say, thanks for the patience, English isn’t my first language so I’m sorry for any mistakes, feel free to ask questions or comment.

Hot Take

Ai Haibara's 2000s version is much better than any earlier or current version so far and it's not even close

Fillers massively degraded her writing and her whole persona itself

No wonder The Great Ship Wars existed because of this girl😭😭

Even worse than the Gojo vs Sukuna fans

And by all means necessary I mean NOT ALL FANS I mention do this

Detective's Competency Chart

Looking to fill this out a little more shift people around it, find some characters existing less on extremes of the spectrum.

Mouri is perfectly in the centre because I believe he will have a hand in the organization's downfall and could figure Kudo out if properly motivated.

I've only just got to filler ep. 135, but this has got to be up there. It doesn't even look like she intentionally threw the hanger...

Why can’t anyone do CPR?

Every time someone randomly drops dead, usually from poison, nobody freaking does CPR lmaoo. Kogoro will just be like, “Oh no, he’s gone,” and Conan’s over there like, “There’s an almond scent… it’s cyanide!?” Bro, do something. Especially Kogoro, you should be trained for this as an ex-cop.
They only show CPR only when the victim drowns and/or for Conan to “kiss” the girl lol

BO.

I think I’ve understood what the Japanese think about BO.

It’s not that they don’t care about it at all, but it’s not their only obsession either — the truth is somewhere in between.

The other day I watched the opening videos of Detective Conan and, wow, BO is shown so many times, really!

The 26th Detective Conan movie, which focuses on BO, achieved record-breaking box office results in Japan and, at the time, surpassed all the other movies in the franchise.

It’s true that the Detective Boys, Kaito Kid, Amuro, and Akai are popular too, but I remember that the last two are also connected to BO.

There’s also a lot of merchandise!

So, it doesn’t seem to me that Japanese fans don’t care about BO at all.

What I’m more worried about is something else: will the new generations like BO as well?

Will they carry that interest on?

What do you all think?

I’m curious to hear your opinions.

Have a nice day!

the most unfair murders

I just rewatched episodes 443 and 444 with the "Clam Digging with a Sigh" case, and (spoilers) >!the reason Tsuguo Ushigome is murdered is really far-fetched, just to protect the group's reputation after an accident he causes and was going to turn himself in to the police!< So I was wondering, are there any other cases where you felt the victim was murdered very unjustly? Not in the sense that there are justly murders, but rather in the sense that in the end, you were like "WTF ?!"

I know I’m late BUT Black Iron Submarine is now favorite Detective Conan movie.

Minor spoiler for the movie 26.

I believe that all the praise has already been said two years ago, so I’ll add a bit of my opinion in this post.

Imo, this movie easily has the strongest first hour. It was so intense. Ran’s action scene was unexpected but very welcome. I also love that Vermouth gets to help our protagonists again. She even put in more effort in the movie.

This is the part where I wanna hear your opinion. I think they shouldn’t have added the murder mystery into THIS movie specifically.

I know people have complained about how newer releases lean into action more than murder cases, and I think that’s completely fine when it comes to the BO-focused movie.
The murder trick wasn’t impressive at all. I think they should have use all that time to escalate the tension. Giving Gin more screen would also be better.

Overall, I love this movie A LOT. I still think it deserves all the love despite its flaws.

A dare

I dare anyone to watch the episodes featuring that faceless pitch black criminal late at night. Ever since I was a kid, those black figured people have always terrified me. It's deeply unsettling about seeing that lurking in the shadows when it's all dark, night and all silent 😭

It's goofy of me to post this but I wanted to share a personal experience of younger me

We all know detective conan is not ending anytime soon. It started before I was even born and now I'm pursuing my doctorate in forensics. I wanna know what you all think of dark endings including those that could never happen. Some of mine include -

  1. Rei/Amuro dying at the end, this would be a impactful decision since all of his friends and even his senior has died

  2. Shiho miyano end up working for secret govt. labs, we all know govt aren't good so this could be her dark fate

  3. Haibara and conan never came back to their original self or Haibara decided to never come return back

Theory on Akai family

l have a small feeling that Akai tsutomo is still alive somewhere maybe he is one of the people who the bo fed APTX 4869 to and now he is hiding somewhere to avoid the organization coming for him and hasn't contacted his family because he is afraid the bo will come after them if they find out.

I remember when I was a college student, my brother who was studying medecine (who's a doctor now ) saw with me the special ep 219 and he said that in general Detective Conan deaths with poison are impossible because there is no such thing as instantaneous death with a poison even potassium cyanide ! It would take minimum 4-5 minutes to die with the dose they're ingesting.
It became quickly a very annoying trope because to me whenever a victim is poisoned he/she should have the time to indicate the killer

Crow hint in EP01

I just rewatched episode 1 of the show and just noticed this big hint thrown at us when Ran & Shinichi are boarding their ride in Tropical Land. Gosho really knows what he’s doing. He’s just holding off on the ending 😒
