I drew this as practice to try and better my drawing skills

Hi! New to the Reddit community but a long time Okami fan. I've been obsessed with it ever since I played it on the Wii (slightly late to the party but still glad to have attended!).

Last year I finally finished an Amaterasu cosplay I'd been working on and off for about 3 years, and she won first place in the Creators category at a convention! I just had to share it here. I'm currently working on a Shiranui one that I'm ambitiously hoping to have done by October for the same convention, but we'll see how that shakes out.

(Also sorry if the tag is wrong, I wasn't totally sure which to use for this!)

Akitoe made a tool to edit files while I did the testing and recolored the textures, and today we made history, the very first okami skin!

For the Month of May we have Selected Okami as our game. It was a close race for awhile between all of the game nominations before Okami started to break away from the pack in the vote. The original Release of Okami was in 2006 and is a game that pushed the question of are videogames Art.

We also got a fighting game community group starting to play a few fighting games together, we just played a few lobby rounds of Street Fighter 6 last Sunday. There are a few more things on the horizon as we slowly grow

I’m sorry if this doesn’t belong here but I wanted to share it all the same. My cat Ebony passed away last year and I’ve had some drawings done of her by different artists but I decided to try my hand at drawing her in the style of my favourite game of all time. Okami has always been very dear to me, even when I was as young as 10 years old and my mum rented it out of blockbuster for me. It’s always been my escape, my comfort, my joy and my passion. I figured why not immortalise my sweet girl by drawing her in this style. My best friend who healed me in many ways, drawn in the style of the game that has healed me in many ways.

I was considering giving her a more human design and traditional hime cut originally, but I just loved tapping into a more wolf-like approach for her :’)
