OMNY Readers Not Working
After first encountering this at my home station, I keep running into the same issue at others: when I try to tap with my OMNY card, the reader has a delayed blue then white flash, then it shows a red “Tap Again” or “Try Again” screen. I have tried to document this anomaly by filming it to send in a report, but I’m often in a hurry, and other commuters are frequently behind me, waiting.
I just tried the “tap 5 times” trick, but after the fourth tap, the transaction was able to go through. When this happened the other day, I reported it to the station agent, who did not seem to know what to do. Should I report this issue via the OMNY site, even if I didn’t get corroborating evidence? It’s a huge nuisance.
