Has anyone had success using supplements for issues related to mast cell sensitivities?

From what I can tell, there is some evidence on quercetin, copper, magnesium and calcium. All three are good at stabilizing mast cell membranes. Calcium, copper and magnesium have helped me a lot. Some have suggested bee pollen supplements can help but that seems very experimental.

I have all the classic signs of mast cell sensitivities but all of my blood tests come back normal. Foods high in tyramine usually give me slow forming dull headaches with neck pain. Heat, hair gel, alcohol, chocolate are all triggers. They are very mild headaches and not very painful but they also mess up my focus and cause temperature changes, fatigue and naps. My mother also has this and I have had it for like 30 years.

Best supplements for lungs /smokers?

Unfortunately i have a very stubborn mother that refuses to quit smoking , but daily complains about breath issues and bad coughing.

I at least want to help her to reduce the smoking damage and for now i give her daily :

- Cordyceps 10:1

- NAC 600 mg

-apigenin

First two are strictly for lung health , the api to help her calm down /better sleep.

Are there any other useful supplements for lung health?

She wont take a load of pills , so i probably need narrow it down a very few useful choices.

I remember watching a podcast few weeks ago about Eurycomax and Ericomax and it was all very interesting, I thought I saved it but now I try to find I can't find it anywhere. I remember in the podcast you were also talking about how you started growing mushrooms. Information in this podcast were very important for me because someone in my family need help with nerve regeneration.

2 full servings of InfiniFiber a day?

Is 2 full servings of InfiniFiber a day (24 grams of fiber) overkill? The RDA for Males is about 35 G but what I’m wondering is, is there an issue with taking in 24 G from a supplement? I really am not big on vegetables at all, although I do eat fruit a lot, I definitely am not getting anywhere near 35 G a day of Fiber and I have always had constipation issues. What do you guys think?

Saffron Extract for PMDD

SAFFRON EXTRACT is one of nature’s most potent anti depressants, and rivals the efficacy of SSRIs in clinical trials. i am surprised that more of us pmdd sufferers have not found it sooner?

i have found more success treating my pmdd with Saffron Extract than Zoloft, without the side effects. in fact, Saffron IMPROVES sexual function!

if you come across this and are considering Saffron, please be aware that this is EXTREMELY POWERFUL stuff- and should be approached with caution.

it is one of the most potent natural serotonergics- meaning it increases serotonin in the brain. with this in mind- dosage and timing are very important. it’s very easy to take too much, which does not feel good at all. (sick, dizzy, irritable) it’s also important to note that because of the serotonergic nature of saffron, you may not want to take it consistently and stop suddenly, as it would probably be better to taper down off of it. *also a heads up to be careful mixing it with other medications.

but when dosage is dialed in, it completely dissolves most of my pmdd symptoms in minutes. i have also found immeasurable benefits while taking it for mundane task work, as it has a unique way of increasing focus and bringing a sense of meaning to it.

i start luteal taking about 5-7mg (about a quarter of Nootropics Depot 30mg capsule. i do this by separating the saffron powder from the gel capsules). i take this as needed, based on symptom severity. i then increase my dose in the week leading up to starting my cycle based on how my symptoms are ramping up. sometimes i take my dose in the gel capsule for a more timed release effect, sometimes if my symptoms are severe i put the saffron extract powder straight on the back of my tongue chased with water for an almost instantaneous effect- which quite honestly is kind of an amazing experience to feel it literally pulling me out of the pmdd depths!

Any potential downsides to mixing Infinifiber and Infinilyte into a smoothie?

Want to toss them into a breakfast smoothie with some fruits, veggies, protein powder, and maybe some collagen powder as well, but I don’t want to do it if I’m not getting the best benefit of the two supplements since they’re like $100 combined.

Btw this might seem like a dumb question to some but please bear with me lol. I just can’t stomach the taste of most things and it would be so much easier for me to toss in a smoothie and forget 😭

Ecklonia Cava as a social tonic / alternative to alcohol? What else could it pair nicely with?

I suffer from generalized anxiety and OCD. I'm always looking for the ideal "stack" to support my brain's neurotransmitters as I suspect there's some kind of genetic imbalance involving glutamate. Alcohol works like a magic charm - in the moment. The older I get, the worse I feel in the days afterwards, and my OCD rumination rebounds even stronger in the aftermath of a heavy weekend, so I've gradually cut it out of my life more and more as time goes on (have only drank 2-3 times this year and the last time was 2 months ago so I'm proud of that!). But the times I'm tempted most are in social situations.

I purchased ecklonia cava by ND for the sleep benefits but I've noticed taking a couple capsules alongside CBD and taurine can produce a really nice euphoric "buzzed" feeling, not dissimilar to the initial buzz from alcohol. My understanding is that EC is gabaergic so I suspect that's what I am feeling.

I'm curious if anyone here experiments with it in social settings as either an alternative or enhancement to drinking alcohol, and whether there's a certain dosage one should not exceed? Also, will taking too much just make you really sleepy?

And does anyone have any stack suggestions in terms of what else it may pair nicely with for social enjoyment - rather than as a sleep stack per se?

Mouse Studies

I’ve noticed a pattern on forums, this one included: when mouse studies report negative findings about a compound(s) people are excited about, they’re dismissed as “just mouse data” and therefore irrelevant. But when those same kind of studies (mouse) show positive results about the same compound(s), no one seems to question their validity.

This is intellectually inconsistent. If a well-designed mouse study is valid enough to support a claim when the results are positive, it should carry similar weight when the findings are negative—even if they’re disappointing. Otherwise, the standard isn’t scientific, it’s selective.

Mixing Infinilyte with Infinifiber and Infinigreens

Any thoughts on combining Infinilyte with Infinifiber and Infinigreens? I started doing one scoop of fiber + greens + a little stevia in the morning. I really like it. I also take MicroMag nightly. My body seems to need a higher dose of electrolytes the last week for whatever reason. I have low blood pressure, so my heart rate goes bonkers when electrolytes are low. Is there any reason to not mix these three?

Supplements to increase appetite?

I've been ill recently (stomach bug) and only just recovered, but my appetite has been absolutely destroyed since, leading to me either force feeding myself food or being in massive deficits.

My maintenance calories is high, ~3300/3400 and I'm somehow supposed to consume 3700 during my current bulk.... which has been a bit brutal on a diet consisting only of whole foods to be honest.

What can I take to make me want to eat a lot more?

10 months of tongkat, no joint pain. Does that mean my estrogen levels were high to begin with?

I started taking Tongkat Ali about a year ago. Started with the 2% but switched to 10% because of nausea on the 2%.

One of the side effects I saw a lot of people complain about was joint pain due to crashes in their estrogen. This hasn’t been a concern for me yet, does that mean I had really high estrogen before and now it’s just stabilized? Or could it be that I just don’t feel it but it could still be too low now?

I didn’t have my levels checked back when I started so I don’t have a solid reference.

Male here, took saffron yesterday and was getting similar sexual side effects to when I use to take Zoloft years ago. As in, I couldn’t climax. Confused as to why people say it increases libido

I take back what I said.

I used to hate on infinilyte and infinigreens flavoring, especially infinilyte.

I still do, but someone told me to mix it in fruit juice so I tried a natural apple juice I have and it tastes.. good actually.

So now I do infinifiber + infinigreens + infinilyte in some apple juice, and its a nice little health treat.

Side note: For folks taking C3G and infinifiber, any constipation? I'm drinking a lot of water and 1 cap C3G but I get stopped up a bit if I take both. I think I got it though with C3G 30 min before the meal + infinifiber right before the meal.

Does Schisandra permanently inhibit CYP3A4 enzyme?

So I want to start taking Schisandra for it's cortisol and stress lowering effects, but im concerned about its CYP3A4 inhibition effects. I read somewhere that it can potentially be permanent? Or does it just deactivate the enzyme until the body makes more of the enzyme?

I know with MAOI there are reversible and irreversible, but irreversible just means that the MOA is deactivated until your body makes some new MOA.

Any insight you could share would be appreciated.
