r/NPTEL
NPTEL
Anyone has any idea when NPTEL results (17th April exam) will be out?
Last time (28–29) it came after 22 days and my college external marks are about to be added 😭 any guess pls tell.
nptel proctored exams for electrical engg, quantum mechanics and engg math, how bad is it
so i have 3 nptel exams this week (electrical engg and quantum mechanics on 24th, advanced engg math on 25th) and i kinda need to know what i'm walking into
assignments are done and scores are decent but i haven't really studied the actual content
just wanted to ask:
- are the exam questions similar to assignments or completely different
- which topics actually show up the most (for electrical i'm guessing ac circuits, for QM particle in a box stuff, for math eigenvalues/laplace?)
- do questions from assignments actually repeat in the exam
- also does anyone know when results usually come out after the exam?
any advice from people who've already given these would help a lot, don't really have much time left

High Voltage engineering Courses
hey,
I'm a 2nd yr student, EEE btech
Ddoes anyone have any NPTEL/any other links related to High Voltage engineering?? I want to pursue masters in HVDC so maybe I could use my vacations to prepare for gate along with learning little by little control system simulations and HVE. I searched on Swayam but got only 1 course - Recent advances in UHV and EHV transmissions. Please share if you have any
Anyone taken the exam on programming in java by debasis samanta? Please reply... Really urgent
reddit.comFood science and technology
I gave my food science and technology exam yesterday and I have only studied assignment questions and gave exam. But most questions are out of assignment. I am not sure of marks. Can I get the response sheet if I mail the nptel team or else what if I get less. For credit transfer exam? Will they strictly consider exam score >40 or is it enough it exam+assign>40.
Ps: I am a final year student enrolled as a credit transfer course. What is th alternative?
SWAYAM exams clash (same shift) – any workaround?
Both my January session SWAYAM exams (Basic Mechanical and Basic Electronics) are scheduled on 17 June in Shift 1. Is there any way to get a different slot or reschedule one of them, or do I have to choose just one?
I recently gave my NPTEL exam for design of power electronic converters. I want to know is there any internships regarding this course which is given to students?

Data Analytics With Python Question Doubt
Morning Shift Paper on 19th. There was a question to calculate euclidean distance b/w 2 points in 3d space. Answer was Root(41) but it was not in the options. How to report it to the exam authority?
Honest review of Data Analytics with Python exam
Just finished the Data Analytics with Python exam and wanted to give a realistic review.
The paper had 3 sections:
Section 1: 19 questions (attempt 18). Mostly basic stats concepts — Z, t, and chi-square tables. Not very hard, but you needed to actually understand what you were doing.
Section 2: 25 questions. Around 7–8 questions were similar to assignments, but the rest were application-based. If you only practiced assignments, this section was tricky.
Section 3: 7 questions, all numerical. This was the most time-consuming part. Required proper formula knowledge and problem-solving, not guesswork.
Overall takeaway:
If you relied only on mugging up assignments, this paper would be difficult. The exam clearly tested conceptual understanding. Going lecture by lecture and actually learning the topics is necessary if you want good marks.
Assignments alone ≠ enough.
I accidentally chose coordination chemistry (transition elements) this sem and i know nothing about it (i studied last in 12th and remember nothing) i have the exam in 5 days. Please tell how to prepare?
reddit.comIf anyone needs access to 2025 and 2024 introduction to industrial iot assignments, dm.
I have made a single html file where you can practice all the quizzes.
Some features - localsync to sync all your changes for each device
Full mock tests with all the questions with random shuffling
Session wise random tests
Week wise random+ sequential test
Explanation for each answer.
Progress tracking + intuitive interface. I myself have given nptel exams and have scores of 94, 97, using this strategy. Also you can read my previously mentioned strategy on how to prepare on the subreddit.
Best of luck!
NPTEL exam clashing with university exams and no proper support
I’m honestly really frustrated right now.
I registered for an NPTEL exam by paying around ₹1000+, but the exam date ended up clashing directly with my university (KTU) semester exam. My NPTEL slot is at 8:00 AM and my university exam is at 9:30 AM on the same day — which is practically impossible to manage without risking my main exam.
What’s worse is that there’s no clear system to handle this kind of genuine clash. Students are expected to just accept the loss of money if they can’t attend. For many of us, ₹1000+ is not a small amount.
I’ve mailed them with proof (hall ticket + timetable), but there’s no guarantee of a response or resolution. It feels unfair that students are not given flexible options when it’s clearly not our fault.
NPTEL is supposed to support learning, but situations like this just add unnecessary stress.
Has anyone else faced this issue? Did you get a slot change or refund?

Just appeared for the NPTEL exams (Affective Computing & Human-Computer Interaction).
Earlier when I was preparing, I couldn’t find much useful info about these exams here on Reddit, so thought I’d put this out.
If anyone’s planning to take them or needs any info (prep, difficulty, questions, etc.), feel free to DM me 👍
URGENT : NPTEL Summer Internship 2026 Update Needed
Has anyone here been selected for the NPTEL Summer Internship under Prof. Rajkumar Pant (IIT Bombay Aerospace), especially for the Aircraft Design course?
I wanted to understand how long it usually takes for the official NPTEL communication to arrive after the professor interaction/interview and recommendation.
In my case, I was the course topper in the NPTEL Aircraft Design course and had shared my SOP with Prof. Pant. After that, I was given a topic on 27th March and had an interview with him on 2nd April. The interview was quite technical, but afterward he told me that my performance was good and later mentioned that he had forwarded my name from his side for the internship.
However, the NPTEL internship team initially replied saying they were not aware of such developments and that usually they contact eligible candidates first and then the professor selects from that process. Later, Prof. Pant again confirmed that my profile had been recommended and asked me to wait for the official list from NPTEL.
I also checked with another topper from the same course, and they have not received any internship communication yet either.
At this point, I am just waiting for the official list/mail from NPTEL and wanted to know if this delay is normal and how the process usually works for others who have gone through it.
Would really appreciate any insights from people who have experienced this process and are currently at the same position as me
NPTEL Exam Experience – Honest Review (Human Computer Interaction)
Hey everyone, I wanted to share my honest experience with the NPTEL exam, especially for those who are new or taking it just because it’s mandatory in college. This was my second time giving an NPTEL exam, and the subject was Human Computer Interaction. My exam was held on 17/04/2026.
If you are from the Computer Science (CS) department, I highly recommend this course, it’s probably one of the easiest courses you’ll find.
My Preparation Strategy
To be honest, I didn’t even study in the beginning because I already knew the subject was quite easy, so I didn’t watch the lecture videos. However, I made sure to complete all the weekly assignments on time, sometimes with a little help from ChatGPT.
Here are a few important things to remember:
- For an 8-week course, your best 6 assignments are counted
- For a 12-week course, your best 8 assignments are counted
Even though not all assignments are counted, I still recommend completing every single one. It helps you stay consistent and becomes very useful during revision before the exam.
I only studied seriously for 2 days before the exam. During that time, I revised all the assignment questions and answers. Since mine was a 12-week course, I focused on memorizing them. Along with that, I studied the PDF/lecture notes provided at the end of each video, they are short, clear, and cover all the important points.
Tip: You can use ChatGPT or your own notes to summarize the PDFs and make revision faster and easier.
Exam Day Experience
Honestly, the exam was easier than I expected. Out of 60 questions, around 45–50 questions were directly from the assignments (approx). The remaining questions were mostly based on common sense or basic understanding of the course. I was able to complete the entire exam within 20 minutes, which says a lot about how easy the exam was.
Exam Pattern (Based on My Course)
- Total Questions: 60
- Divided into 3 sections (Section I, Section II, Section III)
- All sections were quite easy
Final Thoughts
If you’re short on time or confused about how to prepare, just follow this:
- Complete all assignments
- Revise assignment questions and answers
- Go through the PDF materials for key concepts
That’s honestly enough to score well in this course.
NPTEL (Introduction to Cognitive Psychology): How to prepare for it?
Has anyone taken this course previously? Are the assignment questions enough for the exam or do we have to watch all lectures as well?
Are the questions easy?
Please guide.
