I can’t wait to play at lunch today!
Now I'm not a damn dirty rich so I can't get a Switch 2. But how packed is switch 1 nms and is it still getting updates? And any tips for beginners?
Let me know your thoughts on this corvette design. I saw a lot of designs on YouTube, but usually they use more than 40 pieces. This one is under 40.
It actually seems even worse now. It just freezes without a dialog box and I have to exit manually. Bummed. What is your experience?
Had to sacrifice the bridge due to switch 1 limits but I'm happy with the design considering the 40 part limit
I've lost out on TWO S class dreadnoughts because my game CRASHES as soon as I try to swap the freighter wether I copy the base or not.. does anyone know how to keep this b.s. from happening so I'm wasting another four goddam hours?????
I've been able to use the Anomaly once out of like 5 attempts
This update isn't live yet but the game is soon going to be playable offline again!!!!
I have been thinking about buying NMS for a very long time (I am also a hardcore NS player, do not really play with any other console much). Can someone explain to me how does each mode of the multiplayer work in this game (also maybe differences with other platforms, just for reference)?
Really importante context: I was looking for some games to play with my bf. We have been really invested in It Takes Two, Cult of the Lamb, Stardew Valley, etc, so I thought of convincing him to get NMS for the both of us. Would you recommend us NMS / think NMS would be a good option for us?
For the past few weeks, whenever I use the camera from the 'quick menu,' the game freezes. I have to force close the software and restart the game. At first, I figured it was because I was trying to take a 'family photo' with all of my starships on a relatively vibrant planet. But now, it's started happening any time I use the camera. I'm trying to complete a 'take a photo of a Minor Settlement' mission, and it's freezing. I open the camera, zoom to fit (even tried without adjusting the zoom/angle), try to capture the image, and it's frozen.
I've tried clearing the Switch's cache and even did a power reset, but it's still freezing. I aldo have plenty of room on my SD card, too. It's not even half full.
Any other possible remedies?
Does anyone know how to hide or turn off this really irritating box blocking my view?

Apparently, there's a major bug preventing you from playing NMS offline via annoying every 5-second pop-ups, which is caused by having a Nintendo account linked.
Here's how to fix it without having to wait for the bugfix 6.36 patch:
Step 1: Create a new profile on Switch 1/2 >Just create a throwaway profile, but PLEASE do NOT link your profile with a Nintendo account (it will automatically become online and connect to Nintendo servers if you do link)
Step 2: Launch NMS > Select the throwaway profile (not the main profile) and then launch NMS.
Step 3: Play > Create a new save and select which mode you want. Boom it's done!
Keep playing offline via my solution until bugfix 6.36 patch (which fixed offline playing in 6.36) is out on Switch 1/2. My solution is not needed anymore after patch is out
I’m trying to scan this sandworm, just like any other creature. But it just doesn’t happen. Even though the HUD displays some info, I can’t get the scan to initiate (I’m hammering ZR down repeatedly in this screen recording).
Anyone else have that issue?
In the last few days I have found myself unable to take any screenshot with the in game screenshot system.
The basic Switch screenshot is working however. But I cannot get any screenshot without the UI visible.

Hello Games
I need some help for NMS on my Switch 2. I tried recently to land on a planet and the game crashed, up until now the game crashed sporadically but now it crashes a minute in every time. I disabled multiplayer, redownloaded the game and even moved the software from the from the microDS express card to the system. Still keeps on crashing. I’m like 750hrs of play in and worried that I might lose my game. Any thoughts or suggestions, tips, would be greatly appreciated. -Mark
The Star Fox Direct looks pretty impressive. I don't have any interest in combat games, but if I did, I might be tempted.
Instead, I'll be sticking with NMS on my OG Switch. Which is a good thing because I'd hate to bust my budget by buying a Switch 2 (even before the price goes up in a few months) plus the game itself, which I'm guessing will be around $70-$80 (USD).
Every setting here with friends only can be changed to groups or friends only. Multiplayer must be off and you have to allow friends or invites only to join your games. I have played with other players with these settings and have had no issues
Top view, detailing the weapon system firing
Bottom view, detailing the typical results of the weapon firing
The highlighted wing here is half-step shifted
Side-cutaway-view better detailing engine/reactor height
Dome placement, note that it is half-stepped down to achieve this placement
I have a friend I gave a Switch lite and a copy of the game ages ago, but he struggles a bit to get into it, so I thought maybe a well made corvette with looks and power might help out. I wanted it to be a simple build, with only basic parts offsetting used, the kind of thing I could "teach a person in 5 minutes".
Included at the end of this "style guide" are a couple example pics for anyone here not familiar with offsetting. Basically you use light scaffold and small vents to get parts offset vertically or horizontally, and rockhopper propeller modules and any habs for fore/aft offsetting. Use these positioning tricks to get attach points where you want them (often with other habs or scaffold parts), place the parts you want, then delete the parts involved for offsetting (or shift them back to their proper place, in this build the main habs are shifted back and forth for some placements, no need to delete the main habs between steps)
I will note this was built on Switch 2, so I can't be 100% sure of how it will play on Switch 1, yet, but by my count there should be a couple parts to spare, and I do seem to crash less often when using this corvette in multiplayer than my usual 100+ masterpieces with lots of decoration.
Feel free to tinker and enjoy, that's the whole reason for sharing this with all the details needed to build it!
