The highlighted wing here is half-step shifted

Cutaway view detailing the weapon system and reactor/ engine placement. Note: reactor/engine are half-stepped down. Temporary half-stepping the habs enables the unusual middle-wing and weapon placements.

Dome placement, note that it is half-stepped down to achieve this placement

Detail to show that the forward wing is also vertically mirrored even though mostly covered by the osprey wings

A \"How-to\" image for anyone unfamiliar with half-step offsetting. Light scaffold and Small vents on the edges allow right/left, and vertical offsets...

More \"How-to\": the Rockhopper propeller module moves in half-steps when rotated onto the righthand side, then habs can be aligned to the offset. This is for fore/aft offsetting.

I have a friend I gave a Switch lite and a copy of the game ages ago, but he struggles a bit to get into it, so I thought maybe a well made corvette with looks and power might help out. I wanted it to be a simple build, with only basic parts offsetting used, the kind of thing I could "teach a person in 5 minutes".

Included at the end of this "style guide" are a couple example pics for anyone here not familiar with offsetting. Basically you use light scaffold and small vents to get parts offset vertically or horizontally, and rockhopper propeller modules and any habs for fore/aft offsetting. Use these positioning tricks to get attach points where you want them (often with other habs or scaffold parts), place the parts you want, then delete the parts involved for offsetting (or shift them back to their proper place, in this build the main habs are shifted back and forth for some placements, no need to delete the main habs between steps)

I will note this was built on Switch 2, so I can't be 100% sure of how it will play on Switch 1, yet, but by my count there should be a couple parts to spare, and I do seem to crash less often when using this corvette in multiplayer than my usual 100+ masterpieces with lots of decoration.

Feel free to tinker and enjoy, that's the whole reason for sharing this with all the details needed to build it!

I imagine this part of building corvettes is no different for Switch 1 vrs Switch 2 but I just want to ask to be sure:

The internal corvette tech doesn't count against the parts limit, right?

Asking because I'm designing a ship for a friend on S1, and if this fact is the same for both I have a design that will check all the boxes and clock in at 38 parts.
