3 pastors killed in an ambush by Naga Militia. Whatever happened to ‘Nagalim for Christ’?

I write this with a heavy heart and tear stained eyes since I cannot imagine that such a disgusting act of violence and barbarism was showcased by our so called Naga brothers in Manipur.

All the candle light vigils, slogans and singing hymns won’t change the fact that you have the blood on the Lord’s pastors on your hands.

If anyone wishes to read more on the shameful incident I’ve inserted an excerpt from a news article but please read more from the sources on the second slide:

At least three people were shot dead and several others injured after unidentified armed men ambushed their vehicles in Manipur's Kangpokpi district on Wednesday, triggering an immediate blockade along National Highway-2 and heightened tension in the region.
The victims were three church leaders belonging to the Thadou Baptist Association (TBA), including former Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) General Secretary Rev. V Sitlhou. The two others were identified as Rev. V Kaigoulun and Pastor Paogoulen.

According to reports, the victims were travelling in two vehicles and were returning to Kangpokpi from Churachandpur district after attending a TBA Conference in Lamka when they were attacked midway.

KIM said that Rev. V Sitlhou had recently participated in peace initiatives with the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) in Kohima aimed at fostering reconciliation and mutual understanding between communities

Want to go to Dzüleke

Same as the title. I’m a Naga born and brought up here, but I’ve been away for college for the past 5 years and only come back occasionally. Since I’m currently on my summer break, I’ve been thinking of visiting Dzüleke.

Would now be a good time to go? If yes, how do I get there from Kohima, and what are the road conditions like these days? Is there any entry fee or payment required? Also, would it be possible to make it a same-day trip and return by evening?

If there is any additional information anyone would like to provide, i’d appreciate it

I took a drop year and attempted neet for the second time this year. I was wondering if there are any other naga students here who attempted neet. I would appreciate it if you could share your tentative scores as well just to see how high the cutoffs might be. I'm calculated mine to be around 470 and I'm anxious about if it'll be enough for bvsc because it's the only course i want :(

I was born and brought up in Kohima.

Shifted to Dimapur this Feb. Came back to Nagaland after 11 years.

Honestly it feels suffocating because I got so used to the convenience the cities offered me.

Wanna go check out good cafes? No uber or cabs.

Hire an auto? Too expensive.

Realised the rates were bs when I travelled 1.2km in 180rs and 20km from airport to my home last week took me 500rs .

Shops close too soon.

Dusty and humid to go walking.

Floods and muddy potholes if it rains,

Like honestly all i do is stay confined in my PG,
get up, work, order and eat, sleep.

Yes i blame my laziness for cooking but the veggie market and all are too far to be walked and i dont know the share auto routes.

Evening walk is also tiresome cause I can’t enjoy the walk with dim lighted roads and potholes i have to be aware of.
And as a girl i dont feel safe going for walks post 7pm.
After the whole day of WFH i can’t even go out for a break.

Cigarettes only come in three variants; Gold flake, Indie mint and Wave. As a long time smoker this is hell.

OneRoof from where i get my stuff is too far again. UGH.

Ranting while waiting for my ordered lunch to arrive.

I really wish things were more accessible.

In Kohima for a day or two for exams — what’s a must-do (bakeries, quick spots)?

Hey everyone,

I’ll be in Kohima for one - two days before my exam, so I won’t have much time to explore properly. I’m trying to make the most of that short window without overcomplicating things.

What are some must-do / essential experiences I shouldn’t miss in such a short stay?

Specifically looking for:

- A really good bakery (preferably something I can buy from and take back home)

- Any local snack?

- Quick places to visit (nothing too time-consuming, just something memorable nearby)

- Any underrated local stores or specialties where i could buy something nice/memorable?

Also, anything I should avoid or that’s overrated?

Would really appreciate recommendations from locals or anyone. Thanks!

Hi, I am from Kolkata and I want to visit Kohima to stay there for around a month and do my work and also explore the city culture food and other things that I can do. I have never been to north east and I finally decided to do it.

Can you suggest places to look for, to stay and what should be my ideal budget for the homestay. I would require basic comforts and single room.

Please suggest anything else that I should be aware of

(Kohima) Reviews and reccos needed

Did anybody order from this baker? I am thinking to get a birthday cake from them but was apprehensive about the taste.

I've only ordered from Ohriz and Le Koco bakery so I was wondering whether there are any really good bakers who bakes the most scrumptious cake 🤌

Need some advice on how to avail this gov scheme aids:

  1. Subsidy loan- how can I apply for this loan? (No one shares any information even when they are benefiting, some who have affiliated with the colony union avail multiple times or only give it to those whom they want to and not based on those who genuinely need it. On my many unfruitful queries the only answer i got was, "three years tak karni list hoishay, three years beji day he apply kuribe").

  2. Urban development (or something)- land prone to landslides/ needs aid. People avail gov schemes that help land holders in constructing walls/ drainage when it's in hazardous condition. Again, people avail it but no one shares. If anyone has any clue on how to avail this. kindly enlighten me.

So, why am I trying to avail these loans?

We have a small slope land area which is slowly getting washed away by drainage (to put it into perspective: the current of the drainage water broke the neighbour's washroom door) on the western side. while the whole plot is in precarious condition for land slide towards the south.

No job holders in the family, surviving on dad's pension and saving dignity in the name of being an aspirant. Tried multiple private jobs but besides getting treated as a servant rather than an employee, below 5k-9k salary, unhealthy work schedules with hectic workload resulting in mental burnout and languor. That, there's no time for studies. so had to quit and survive on tuitions. Made it though the first phase of nssb but got alu in cpt because it was my first time and I had zero idea/guidance (self study 100%). mentioning this to clarify that cannot work in private jobs to earn enough for this upkeep while trying to self study.

So, seeking aid here. (1am & brain rot) Apologies if my post reflects any humblebrag.

Many thanks 🫂

So I might be shifting from my hometown Lucknow to Nagaland for being an assistant professor at a college. What are the key things to keep in mind that would make me not miss Lucknow. I would be shifting with my wife and my parents, so some questions are really needing their answers.

  1. Are there good cafes in the state? I mean good in the sense of aesthetics, food and premium qualities

  2. How can I buy alcohol or consume it without thinking of legal consequences?

Other tips, tricks, and hacks are always welcome.

Hello everyone,

I hope this post complies with the community guidelines. I would like to introduce myself: my name is Cristian, I am 24 years old, and I am from Colombia.

For some time now, I have been sporadically researching Nagaland specifically its tribes, culture, and languages. I am someone with a deep, almost restless curiosity when it comes to linguistics. Beyond the superficial information I have and what is available online (Avoiding as much as I can AI to learn), I am genuinely interested in delving into the roots of the region and building meaningful friendships through language and textual conversations.

My native language is Spanish, and I am proficient in English. I am eager to learn the "bridge" language used among the Naga people, which I understand is Nagamese. However, if there are any native speakers of Konyak, Ao, or other tribal dialects who would be interested in sharing their knowledge and likewise wants to learn about Spanish, it would be an absolute pleasure to learn from you and teach you as well.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.

"I am a stay-at-home dad looking after my 8-month-old baby. Since our expenses have increased since the baby was born, we can't manage on my wife's monthly earnings alone. I previously owned a business but had to close it so I could stay home while my wife is at work. My savings are running low, so I am looking for remote jobs to help cover expenses like diapers and to ease the financial strain on my wife." I have knowledge of computers.

Watch stopped working recently and thought it was the battery. Went to change the battery but that was not the case. The shopkeeper told me that the thing which keeps the hour/minute hand running is broken and he doesn’t know how to fix it. It’s the only repairing shop I know so can someone please suggest me some good shops in and around Kohima (BOC and main town area) that deals with watches

And also, does the Titan store in Kohima deal in repairing?

Hi fellow Nagas, hope all are having a good day!!

Okay so, we’ve already rented out part of our house, but another portion is lying vacant. Instead of letting it just sit unused, I’m thinking of using it for short term stays (Airbnb style).

It would be a simple setup.. a few rooms (one with attached bathroom, others shared), basic facilities like WiFi, clean rooms, and maybe light breakfast only if requested. I don’t want to turn it into a full PG/hostel since managing cooking and everything daily will be too much.

Just wanted to ask:

• Has anyone here tried Airbnb or homestay in Nagaland?

• What are the main issues I should be prepared for?

• Do I need any government approvals/registration before starting?

Any advice or real experiences would help a lottt

Thank you :)

Also, what are some alternative ways I can use this vacant space besides Airbnb? Looking for different ideas to generate income from it.

I am traveling from South India to Nagaland for the first time and I’m interested in shopping, especially women’s Western clothing. I’ve heard that Nagaland has a lot of imported clothes from China, Bangkok, Korea, and Japan, so I’d like to know which markets or areas I should explore for good deals. Wholesale options are also fine
