MFP, Y'all need to address this before you lose your userbase

This update is awful. Every single recent review is awful. I finally see your team responding to reviews saying that things will be fixed soon. If that's true, you need to make an announcement here, and on all of your social media. You ruined your app, and you will not get people back without turning things back (and soon).

People are looking for their replacement apps as we speak, and once they find one they like, they won't be coming back, even if you fix things. People have canceled their subscriptions, and they're going to let them lapse.

Everyone submit complaints about the new update

As I’ve seen many of you mention, I’m beyond upset with the new update and I’m actively searching for a new app to use. I already canceled my subscription because the app is basically unusable now compared to its last version which I loved. For anyone who feels the same I highly recommend sending in a complaint report so at least they can see the widespread frustration and how it is impacting their revenue and reputation. Here is the link to submit this: https://support.myfitnesspal.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hopefully if enough of us do it we can make some sort of change.

I can't be the only one pissed off at MyfitnessPals update??

Now we have to click into things to see our diary information properly, and are stuck with "Nutrients Remaining" who approved this terrible user experience??

Long time user - if you don’t give me the old interface, I’m vibe coding my own

I’ve been an MFP user for 5+ (maybe 10?) years. Recommended the app to so many people. Loyally used it forever.

The new interface is HORRIBLE. Things that used to take me 1-2 clicks take me 5 clicks now. Like seriously?

And don’t give me the “oh you don’t understand why we did this” BS - I’m a product manager by craft, and this is just disrespectful to your users. If I shipped this, I would have been fired yesterday.

Give us a toggle to use the old interface, or I’m logging into Lovable to vibe code my own version. And learn to COMMUNICATE to your pissed off users - it’s 2026.

New user interface update AWFUL!

I can’t believe I’m joining this page just to complain, but I hate the UI update on this app. Granted some things are an improvement in other ways. It feels like there’s extra steps. Anyone else frustrated with that at this point?

My advice on the new update

Vote with your money.

Leave a review.

Send in an email to their support team.

Post here.

Microsoft just rolled back a subscription change to the game pass after enough financial pressure. If they can do it, so can MFP.

Devs: rename the app the my fitness, as you are no longer my pal, buddy.

This new version sucks SO much- please MFP, listen to your loyal users: no one likes this new UI. Bring back the old version. Please.

I'm about to jump ship- anyone have recommendations of other apps they have tried using and like?

Critical bug - Ruins all past data

Hopefully I'm the only person who this is happening to, but watch out for this one.

If you use the new quick "log yesterday's meal again" feature added with this recent update, it will do that. For today. And it did it for every meal for every day in the past four months I've been logging.

I've done this for two days worth, and now every single day for the past four months has triple the food logged.

I've been extremely diligent to have data to compare to my long term outcomes, and it's just ruined now.

The AI help desk agent was as helpful as you'd imagine.

Why does the new update not show full meals?

I don’t really care about the new update, I only care about the diary. Why on earth have they changed it so that you need to click on the meal to see everything you had? Before it just showed everything already now you need to click in and out. Makes it so much more confusing, what was wrong with the diary just showing everything.

There should at least be an option to expand/collapse the meals so you can choose to see everything or not. They need to change this, I’m going to leave a bad review on the App Store.

MyFitnessPal Owners

The controlling shareholder is Francisco Partners who purchased MyFitnessPal in 2020. Apparently they have recently retained an investment bank to assist them in selling MyFitnessPal. This disastrous new interface released today, given the very clear negative response of loyal clients, is certainly not going to help the sale process. Hard to understand what they were thinking.

Confused about the Update Rollout timeline

I've been dealing with this atrocious new UI for a few weeks, but it seems like there is a huge influx of angry people commenting on it today. Did a lot of people not get the update until today?

Not that it really matters - I'm just curious...

Anyhow, I'm done with this horrid company and ready to move on to greener pastures. check out Cronometer as an alternative to MFP.

Go rate MFP in the play store

I know everyone hates the new user interface. I do, too. I've been chatting with customer support, and they refuse to refund me.

I recommend that everyone go rate the app and give it one star, stating exactly why no one should use it anymore.

368 days of MFP but this new update has me looking for another app

Sorry MFP but I loathe this non-intuitive update.

You had a good thing going and you've ruined it. Updating an app in a way that makes their users feel dumb is a terrible business choice.

I'd rather have to learn how to use a brand new app than re-learn how to use this downgrade to MFP.

I don’t want to pay for this bs

Please stop updating the format!! I can’t figure this out and i dont get the “in five weeks you’ll weigh xyz” when complex my diary. Also this is a confusing layout and I hate it! Please make it go back to the way it was. I don’t want this to discourage my food logging and having a negative impact on my weight loss journey.

After spending a day going through alternatives MyNetDiary is the winner of best alternative to MFP

Basically just a clone of MFP but I already have all my meals set up and it has all the functionality and layout about the same as MFP. There’s a couple of functions that are slightly different but overall it’s the clear winner for me. So long myfitnesspal. You fucked up bad. Private equity destroys everything it touches!

I’m cancelling! This new update is trash

Does anyone know if I can get my money back if I prepaid for a whole year? They should give the option to keep the old layout.

Why the app facelift sucks

The food diary is the most important part of this app. The new update has removed the diary tab and instead integrated it in a less effective way in the "today" tab, damaging the user experience.

The meals shown grouped in the today tab ("... and 8 more") instead of showing all entries per meal at once is clunky and serves only as a barrier to what most people want, which is to see their full food diary easily and instantly when opening the app. Now, you have to enter a separate page to see the full diary. The full diary should have its own tab, serving as the main focus of the app.

Logged items are now shown each on individual cards that make grossly ineffective use of screen real-estate by being far too large and filled with empty space/padding. At most, 7 items fit on the screen at once, when before, at least 12 could easily fit. The cards need to be condensed, or at least, the option to switch the appearance to a condensed view should be provided.

The new app experience is extremely disappointing. It's not about "taking time to get used to", it's that the app's main focus, the food diary, has been ruined by being converted to a list of gigantic, space-consuming cards and relegated behind a pointless "view all" button. There isn't a single time when I wouldn't want to view my entire daily food diary at once - it's the whole point of the app.

The only thing most people are interested in seeing when they open the app is a summary of nutrition at the top, followed by all their logged items of the day displayed in a meal-separated, space-efficient list that fits as many items on the screen at once as possible without being overly condensed. Kind of like... the way the diary looked before...

This update does nothing but demonstrate a grand disconnect between the MyFitnessPal team and the user experience.
