Adansonii - she’s my pride and joy but it’s a battle!

She has had scale for the longest time which I try to keep on top of with isopropyl alcohol but it burns the leaves, but now she’s got some thrips and it’s so sad to see her newest leaves being feasted on! I can see the damage and the frass but not the bugs! I’m treating it with provanto, but if she doesn’t make it I just wanted to share her cos she’s my fave of all my collection!

Going BMF! Probably a bit too soon.

this has been in water for about two weeks, and it's going into soil. the question is, should I just bury the stock so that it's upright? or lay it down on top? I know the leaves will eventually turn around and the new ones will climb, but I really want to just drop it into a pot.

Today is a good day

Woke up to this beauty of a leaf really starting to unfurl and I couldn’t be happier.

Recently got this Thai Con as a gift from my girlfriend and it’s been bringing me joy everyday.

After more than 1 year, what now ?

We waited over a year for her to finally put a leaf ! Now I'm scared to do something wrong... she is in a box with wet substrate, her root is barely out.

Why Is My First Monstera Adansonii Losing Leaves and Dying?

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. I bought this IKEA Monstera adansonii about two months ago. It started with around 15 leaves, and now I’m down to 5 (yes I know it’s in my bathroom lol, I don’t want purple light in my room). This is my first time owning a plant, so I initially kept it near a window, but then realized my room isn’t north-facing.

When I bought a grow light and set it to purple light (400–700 nm) on the brightest setting, which seemed to help alot. To the point that I felt like it was growing too quickly. So I set it on the blue light (400–500 nm) on the brightest setting.  I’ve been watering about 4 oz once a week, usually until water drains out of the pot, but I’m wondering if that might be too much.

Over the past couple of weeks, the leaves have been upright, but then gradually droop to about a 45-degree angle and eventually turn crispy. At that point, I either trim the leaf or remove the whole stem. I’m not sure what could be causing this. I am not sure how important this is but I haven’t replaced the soil that IKEA sold it with.

I’ve also noticed a few apical buds forming in the last month, but they end up dying and not unfurling. They turn brown while still closed. I’m thinking this could be a humidity issue. Winter humidity in Michigan is around 30–40%, so last week I started running a hot shower every two to three days for about 15 minutes, then letting the plant sit in the humidity for another 15 minutes.

Any thoughts on why my Monstera is dying?

Growth on mutated Thai Con

So my Monstera Aurea and mutated Thai Con had spider mites and an early case of thrips. Almost two months ago, I chopped off the top cuttings from both (they’re currently propagating in water) and let the bases do their thing. This is the current state of the base of my mutated Thai Con that I bought last year from Stater Bros. I noticed the leaf texture was bumpy and clearly not growing like normal Monsteras, so I bought it to see how it’d grow in the long run. I’ll eventually grow both the top and base cutting on some type of support and yes, it is intentional to let all these growth points grow on one stem. Just wanted to give a little context and show how funky the leaves are. Show me any of your funky growth from any of your plants!!

Monstera dripping water from its leave

Why is my Monstera dripping water from its leaves?

I’ve noticed small droplets forming along the edges of the leaves, especially after watering.

Is this a sign that the plant is stressed or unhealthy, or is it normal behavior?

For context, it’s kept indoors under a grow light.

Is my albo small form or large form?

I have no idea what to look for. The internodes look pretty close together to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is this just cause it’s growing a new leaf?

Is that yellow meaning a new leaf is coming soon? I feel like I remember that happening when the last one came out but I forget and don’t wanna freak out lol

Another post from a new monstera parent.

I'm new to houseplants and when my local independent greenhouse told me they'd sell this to me for $40, I had to have her. After looking at a lot of monstera posts, I believe I have multiple plants here. I probably should separate them before they get too much bigger, right?

I'm scared that I'm going to kill her when I try to separate and repot. I think I know how to do it... reassure me... or not.

I tried to get a good picture of the base. I bought a nice moss pole based on someone's recommendation here and when I replant, I would like to train her to use it to reach for the sky. I'm having a difficult time determining where the stem is. I know that I shouldn't tie it to a petiole because I've seen waves of scolding when someone posts a picture with a petiole. Will someone be kind enough to point out the stem(s)?

Any other comments, tips, etc., are welcome.
