I was a VIP backer from the North Eastern US. I just got one of two machines (after begrudgingly paying $422 in shipping/taxes/import duties 🤯). It didn’t specify, so I assumed I was going to get both machines in one box (I got one for the coffee bar at work, one for home). Only one showed up, and they haven’t responded to any of my questions regarding the second machine and/or accessories (I wanted to change some items since I got a black/maple machine, which was what they had available right now).

Has anyone else received just one of two machines? Or both? It seems pretty crazy to be paying $422 per machine for delivery, and if they’d asked, I’d have probably instructed them to wait until they could send both machines together to reduce shipping, if that were an option.

Either way, it’s a sweet machine so far, and pairing very well with the morning dream steamer I got since Met Milk isn’t available and my partner requires milk drinks (I enjoy them now and again as well).

Another random question: does anyone who’s using a 58-49mm step-down basket experience a loud “pop” (sometimes accompanied by a splash of hot water) as the shot finishes and the piston is retracting?

Just got my Meticulous and mostly dialled in but struggling with consistency.
Setup:
• Italian Style profile, 90°C, 1.8ml/s, 40g
• Varia VS6, 1200 RPM
• 18g in, medium-dark blend
• WDT, puck screen, adjustable tamper

Issue:
Grind size 1.0 → 29 seconds, ~7.9 bar, smooth curve
Grind size 2.0 → 22 seconds, ~4.8 bar, flat curve

Anything above 1.5 on the VS6 just flows straight through with barely any pressure. The VS6 manual says espresso range is 2–5 so grinding at 1.0–1.2 feels wrong but it’s the only way to build adequate pressure.

Is this normal for the Meticulous? Am I missing something or is the constant flow profile just requiring a much finer grind than traditional machines?

Meticulous as secondary machine?

I currently been rocking a Linea mini R plus Kafatek MC6 and it’s a dream. I do wish I can do more profiles.

Is this machine can act as a lever quality shots?

I was thinking of getting one just a secondary but still had my Linea mini since.i do lots milk drinks.

Overkill?

Channeling and fast pull

Is anyone having issues getting shots dialed in?

Forgive my ignorance and I know all of this sounds like “grind finer” but I am using the Weber key MK and am a few notches from 0 (I’ve tried coarser too).

I always get some degree of channeling with it spraying all over. And my shots are pulling in a few seconds.

My work flow

Weigh 18-19g beans (roasted roughly 2 weeks ago)
Grind
Into portafilter
WDT a bit
Tamp
Into machine
