Hi there- it’s me, the girl with the distracting eyebrow

I’ve been filling in my eyebrow the best I can since it’s apparently distracting and confusing.

The third picture there is more for the eyeshadow blending (I’m only wearing eye makeup and tinted lip balm here so you will see the return of the confusing brow).

I’ve been working on eyeshadow blending and color matching a bit better.

Just looking for some feedback to see if my mixing up of a lot of different people’s advice is working.

I am NOT looking for a natural/ neutral look. I like colors and will always use some sort colored eyeshadow (though I’ve been working a lot on blending the colors and matching). I am not a fan of the ‘clean girl, no makeup makeup’ look.

My eyebrows are pink because my hair is rose pink (though it’s hard to tell from this first picture, you can tell in the 3rd picture though).

Never worn makeup before: where do I start?

Hii everyone, the photo above is me without any makeup on. I have barely any experience with makeup as all I use is mascara and the occasional lipgloss. I don't really think it's an insecurity problem but sometimes I feel like trying makeup might help me feel a little better about myself lmao 😭 also, I have tried to look into products but there's just so many choices which got overwhelming

I would really appreciate it if anyone can give me opinions on what makeup looks would suit me, preferably something for everyday wear! If you have any brand recommendations that would be great too :)) Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can help me out 🩵 Please let me know in the comments if I should provide any extra information that might be needed~

Makeup youtubers recs for begginers with storytimes/entertaining

Hi, im a girl in my early twenties and since ive always been quite butch I never really learned how to do makeup. Lately Ive been interested in it and I think it could add expresiveness to my looks and honestly, the concept of painting your face and using optical illusion to look a certain way sounds cool af. Im just not too great with artsy stuff and cant get right the tutorial I follow, I always end up looking worse.

Are there any yt channels u reccomend for people without almost any knowledge like me? Im looking for tutorial where I can follow along, slow paced while they talk about something interest/tell a storytime/true crime... whatever themes really, just something to listen too while im applying my makeup following the steps. Kind of like a GRWM but with more explaineitions about the makeup.

wedding makeup ideas??

Hi there! Including a random picture of my face in my normal makeup (concealer and mascara only) just for reference.

I am getting married in June and cannot decide what to do for my wedding makeup. I want to look like myself, and I don’t wear much makeup ever. Every time I’ve had my makeup done professionally, it has looked super weird even when they have done great work which is why I haven’t hired a MUA. There’s something about my skin texture that just simply doesn’t hold makeup the same way other peoples skin holds it. I have a lot of creases and very like…pliable skin so powders and most creams look very obvious, they just never blend.

Any ideas/products to try to achieve a dewy, glowing bridal look without layers and layers of powders and contouring? I can’t “build things up” like they do in tutorials, it ends up looking clowny. I need to try something else.

Thanks so much for your help!!

^inspo pics of my ideal look, though I do realize that literally all these have heavy contouring so this isn’t what I’m expecting!! I can’t find inspo pics without contouring.

Pealing and grainy foundation

Hello, I can't seem to figure out why my foundation looks odd. It almost seems to not adhere well to my skin. I used a kiko Milano hydra glo moisturizer that I was told works well as a primer. Then I applied a kiko Milano insta moisture foundation. I speckled it on my face, then used a firm foundation brush, followed by a wet sponge to smooth. I just can't seem to overcome this powdered look. I cleanse properly, use toner and moisturizer. Any advice please! I'd love to keep my foundation but open to changing other things.

Note - the picture makes it look better than it is. You can see some splotches on my nose and cheek from pealing or not adhering properly

TRUE light brown mascara

Why is it so difficult to find a true light brown mascara?

For us fair skinned girlies - every ‘brown’ mascara I try just looks basically black on my fair lashes. It never looks soft or natural like I want. I look too made up.

Looking for feedback - if I created a small start up with this as a first product, would there be any interest? 🤔

Great find but need some help.

My boyfriend found a lighted vanity mirror in perfect working condition today at a dumpster but it has no base or hardware. I've tried to look for bases to buy or diy to no end. Wondering if anyone has any experience or ideas of how to make one or where one may be able to be purchased separately? There's no brand name any where on it either, it seems to just be generic. I already have a power cable from a smaller one I own that works.

Absolutely beginner. Looking for a daily makeup look that fits my face.

This is my face without any product.

I know absolutely nothing about makeup and I’m looking for thoughts about what kind of looks I should try. I’ve tried a few things myself but I swear they all look terrible. Honestly I feel super ugly and I just wanna feel better about myself.

Things I like about my face are my eyes and lips and some things I hate are my acne, super round cheeks, and eye bags.

Not looking for a glam look or anything that would take lots of time to do because I struggle with having enough energy.

Thank you to anyone with actual experience who can help me look a bit nicer. 💕

I’m sorry if I’m not asking the right questions I really don’t even know where to start.

How should I do my makeup for prom?

I don’t know where to contour, what order to apply things, or what fits my eye shape, lip shape, etc.

If anyone has tips for any of things it would be so helpful. Thank you!

Do I really need all these brow and mascara tools or am I overthinking it?

I’m pretty new to makeup and I’m already confused. I went in thinking I just needed a mascara and maybe an eyebrow pencil, but now I’m seeing gels, glues, brushes, spoolies, and I don’t even know where to start. Same thing with mascara brushes, I didn’t even know there were different types until recently. Some are thick, some are thin, some are curved, and people say each one gives a different effect. It feels like a lot when you’re just starting out. I’ve read a bunch of discussions where people compare tools and even talk about how certain designs come from places like Alibaba, which made me realize there’s a whole side of makeup tools I never thought about. If you had to keep it simple, what would you say are the essentials? Do I need multiple products working together or can I just stick to one or two and still get decent results?

Edit: Thanks so much for the insights and responses!

All foundation undertones look… wrong

Hi! I am hoping to get some help! I have the hardest time finding foundations/concealers because they all look wrong! Cool is too pink. Neutral is too yellow. Warm is too orange. Neutral options usually look the best, but I’m still banging my head trying to get a foundation that “matches”. I would love help finding out why I’m having such a hard time and maybe get a few recommendations. Thank you all in advance.

What is my eye shape?

I'm not sure of my eye shape for eyeliner or if my eyebrows are the right shape, either.

I don't wear makeup, but I'd love to add a little something to my face to show I tried and just to feel a little prettier. When I do any winged liner, the left eye wing is always higher than the right.

Thank you in advance!

Need help identifying my eye shape for better eyeliner placement! (Beginner)

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to makeup and I'm really struggling with getting my eyeliner right. I feel like the look I'm going for never quite matches my eye shape, but I'm not even sure what my shape is!

Based on these photos, could you help me figure it out? Are they almond, round, hooded, downturned, etc.? Any tips for applying eyeliner for my specific shape would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Foundation sits on top if skin, esp nose and pores galores

EDIT: posted a few pictures of my skin without foundation to see if people still want my skin care routine and also to start a conversation about skin and foundation and skin care and what our faces look like a different ages within than without each layer

I’m 45 so my skin is not perfect. I even worked at Hollywood Tans in my early 20s. But this doesn’t seem like that. This should have a fix, I feel.

What you see in the pic is not nearly as separated as it looks in person. Especially on my nose. This is my summer foundation and darker than my skintone now but it doesn’t really natter which I use (btw, this is Make Up by Mario Surrealskin in 6W with Bisha Rice Water Primer underneath….

but I also have/wear Haus Labs tricone in 100, Loreal Infallible 32H Freshwear, Hourglass Ambient, old but I don’t wanna throw it out cos i loved it Becca Ultimate Coverage and all the ones in the picture - Colorstay, MUFE Ultra HD, CT Beautiful Skin, Wander (also older) Nude Illusion, Yensa, One/Size BBB, and KVD Good Apple serum foundation)

So what is the fix for this? All those foundations have the same issue so I don’t think it’s the foundation (?). I was thinking to use a tweezerman straight razor and do some dermaplaning but it’s super hard around the nose. And I know you are supposed to wear some sort of moisture on your face when you do that but idk what: serum? Moisturizer? Oil?

Is it that my skin is too dry? Not enough water? Oil? And my pores are huge all the sudden.

Any advice helps. I’m seeing someone tonight I would like to look nice for and - oh yeah I have the red Tirtir too - same issue - and I would like to look nice.

Should i just go around the nose?

I posted my face without makeup for those who wanted my skin care routine to see if you still do

Looking for basic make up routine for autistic woman

hello! I've become interested in making myself more feminine and I'd like to start by doing some sort of make up routine to do that. I know I need to get my eyebrows done, I plan on getting them threaded then keeping it up with tweezing the best I can.

right now the only thing I do is wear a tinted sunscreen and I provided pictures as followed:

1st one is how I exist daily with my glasses and no tinted sunscreen

2nd is me without glasses and no sunscreen

3rd is me without glasses with the tinted sunscreen. I thought the sunscreen was too dark for me, but in the natural light I think it looks good, if it doesn't pls tell me! (this is the cetaphil tinted mineral sunscreen in case anyone wants to know, I love it!)

so my questions are do I need to shade my brows in? do I need to wear mascara? lip stick? I'm too afraid to contour and eye shadow/eyeliner so I'm just trying to do an everyday look that enhances my beauty.

I also am autistic as stated above and I have sensory issues and that's why I really like the tinted sunscreen. I tend to touch my face often to calm myself down and I'm worried about mascara. so maybe do y'all think I'd do good with a mascara that doesn't smudge and a lip stain? should I wear blush?

I guess I'll condense my request by saying I'm looking for a sensory friendly make up routine that isn't too expensive, is ok for very sensitive skin, and will not take me longer than 30 minutes to achieve. if y'all could be very specific with products that would be so helpful. I have been gender dysphoric my whole life and this is the first time I've ever wanted to feel beautiful and womanly so I will take all the advice! thank you :)

Bare minerals powder concealer

Does anyone else love this concealer as much as I do? I have been looking for a powder concealer that works well for my oily skin and this is the best one I could find. I love it but always open to trying new products. Do you have a favorite concealer that works well with oily skin?
