I have already taken a gap year and I wanna take one again. I want to shift from pre engineering to pre medical and want to become a doctor. Is 2 gap years a big deal or is it okay. Do medical colleges in Pakistan have students who are in their early 20s and still in their first year. And if u went into one how many did u take?

Is this a good study strategy to get 170+/180?

I know 170+ is just me being very delusional, but it's okay to be a lil delulu sometimes (:

Here's my 3-month plan, is it actually good enough to reach my target

Month 1: Understand the concepts, make notes, especially on biology (since I've already covered majority of chem + phy from a levels, and I feel like those 2 subjects are very similar in both MDCAT and a levels, it's just that bio has some differences).

Also planning to join kipps academy, and start solving topicals on EACH topic.

Also planning on creating a word document with ALL important points from both Punjab and federal textbooks and memorizing everything line by line, because I've heard some MDCAT questions are repeated verbatim from the textbooks.

Month 2: Do the FLPs, and finally finish topicals, and start on full past papers.

Month 3: spamming past papers, and reviewing my notes over and over again.

Going to also use ChatGPT to help me conceptualize and understand points, since ChatGPT is amazing.

I will also try finding notes online from toppers and using them, and all their question solving strategies

Is this a good plan? Can 170+ be achievable with this (':

If there's anything additional I should add, please let me know

Do you guys think MDCAT will be delayed due to rain/monsoon

They say it'll be on August 16th, but it gets delayed every year

So most likely, it'll get delayed again this year right? What are your opinions

Random

hey guys not a study related post, so those who want to skip can skip this, just here to pour my heart out.

So basically I'm from a family where everyone is engineer i was supposed to be one too but i never liked that field or you can say that i always admired medical. My elder siblings were given no option and they went for engineering but i was the rebel kid somehow my parents agreed to let me try out. My fathers pov was ke "let her try hoga tou waise bhi nahi and she'll be back doing the same thing"

Well i passed my college now and going to give mdcat this year and I've been trying as hard as i can. I don't see this test as a test but a dead end knowing that if I don't make it I'll have to do smthng i don't like for the rest of my life.

It's just that i was feeling quite alone as if there's no one who can actually understand me but i hope you guys do.

I hope you and i will make it 💪🏻🌟

Remember me in ur prayers

Advice needed for MDCAT, specifically an A level student

I'm almost done with IAS lvl (1st year), and I'll take IA2 (2nd year) in the next academic year, inshaa Allah. I'd like to take the MDCAT the next year as I'm not looking forward to a gap year. I believe it's a waste of time.

So, I'm planning on self-studying for it alongside the A2. How should I go about doing this? What should I do in the upcoming summer vacation? Should I study 1st year syllabus and then practice classified MCQs from KIIPS practice books? But I heard that the syllabus will change... Any specific advice from previous AL students? What are some common pitfalls AL students fall into during their MDCAT journey?

Also, any and every resource will be appreciated 🙏🏻

Some advice i wanted to give that i wish someone gave me.

Syllabus: give priority to ur own board above all else. Especially for biology. The book is ur supreme leader. Carefully go through the lines because sometimes exact book lines are given as mcqs.

Practice: to solidify ur concepts Practice is a must. If u think that ull start practice after completing syllabus thats delusional. Sath sath Practice shuru karo chapter wise, helps in understanding the chapter itself

Bubble filling : start ur bubble filling practice from day 1 try to do tests with a bubble sheet cuz many students end up getting less marks because they blunder their bubble sheets.

Find ur paper attempt style: as u go through flps ull find ur own natural practice style, i personally ended up going with biology->physics->english->chemistry->logical reasoning. Whatever helps u the best.

And the most imp thing imo:-

Stop overcomplicated things, unfortunately with how the paper has been these last few years the difficulty level has fallen considerably where instead of ur understanding depth, fundamental concepts and ratta is being checked. So solidify ur basic concepts and memorize bio shit because thats gonna be 90% of ur test. And u need to score full in that test to ur full ability. The rest 10% can be good concepts tested, a bit shit ass mcq, some fucking key mistake and what not. Better to not gamble with the 90%. Atleast thats what ive concluded.

Anyone has any queries feel free to dm and good luck .

So basically the topics added from this chapter are driving me crrazzzyyy😭😭😭 I've watched video lectures of this chapter basically twice and I still don't get it, everything is so messy and confusing😔
I don't know if I should put it aside for a time being and focus on completing everything else ya phir KUCH BHI KAR KE SAB CONCEPTS DIGEST KRUN (basically asking for HELL)😭😭😣😫
 I DONT KNOW ANYMOREEE
Does anyone else feel the same/?????

Finding a study mate (girl)

Hey!

I am a repeater just starting my revision.. It's actually revision because I think I hv had enough prep now.

It's just I can't stick to a timetable and I really want to prepare a schedule Up till 16th Aug (exam day) and wanna strictly follow it..

I think if I would hv some study partner then we both can easily make each other follow the plan by tracking the progress.. so if any repeater is interested kindly dm..

Only girls!

Plus I am hardworking.. I can study more than 10hrs a day effectively so I want a hardworking partner too so we both would make it to the med clg this year Inshallah 💪🏻

MDCAT Help

Hello.
Overseas here.

The mdcat process is quite confusing for me in forms of the provinces and locations.

My question is, if I want apply to AKU then which provinces MDCAT should I be giving? (Federal- SZABMU, Sindh, Punjab- UHS)

And what happens if I give my MDCAT in Riyadh (international test centre) then how can I apply to my chosen public universities ?

And can I use one of my parents domicile ?
