Seeking more aggressive pick ups-Les Paul Custom 2025

Hello, I used AI to help me narrow down some decisions, I want you guys to help if you can. JB bridge/‘59 neck seems to be a staple, but I have a JB in my fender Strat, and it’s fine. Nothing special. What do you guys think about a 59\custom hybrid in the bridge and an Alcino Pro 2 in the neck? I like hard rock, I’ll be playing sabbath, acdc, zepellin, and it would be cool to play some lamb of god on this as well. I have katana mk2 50 amp with the app and access to tons of presets btw.

Thank you guys

My first Les Paul, should I get a custom shop?

Crazy ass question, but I do like alpine white more, and this is a custom shop for $800 or so more. I am interested in my guitars value and rarity in the future. I think it’s so neat that there was more attention put into this guitar (allegedly).

What does this custom shop really mean? Is it worth spending the money or even taking the chance of this guitar not being in good condition? My black one is flawless, almost. What do you guys think? Is this thing going to appreciate? What even is this particular guitar? It looks very similar to mine, but I think it’s a 2025. There is also no COA with the custom shop, well at least it’s not stated. What do you think?

Thanks, I’m new. I am so sorry for crowding this sub

NGD! I know, not LP - but as a fellow LP enthusiast i figure some may appreciate this.

American professional classic.

I was torn between the am pro ii and the avri ii. This was cheaper than both and seems like the best of both worlds. Feels and sounds great! 😊

NGD take 2

I bought my first electric guitar for my 18th birthday, with the help of my parents. I hate to admit, I took it in as a p/ex on an old Strat a couple of years later. That decision has always bugged me, despite owning a string of LP Standards over the subsequent years.

So, last week, I pulled the trigger on the guitar on the right. Same year, same colour, as new condition.

It arrives Wednesday. I cannot wait!

Removed the pickguard on my Les Paul 🍯

I picked this beauty up about a month ago and kept seeing posts about people removing the pick guards. I was hesitant at first, but decided to remove it and I’m glad I did. I feel like it made the guitar more of “my own”. Plus I banged the headstock on the ceiling a couple times since owning it and got a couple of battle scars, so now I feel like the initial “babying it” phase is over.

[NGD] Early 80’s Burny Les Paul Custom

Trying to find out more about this one. Preferably when is was made, seller sold it as early 80’s and based on superficial details I definitely agree but I’d like to narrow it down.

Any ideas on how to find out more?

Brothers from another mother

My 2009 R9 and 2017 Tremonti. Both get a lot of playing time, and they’re both so refreshingly different from each other.

My current favorite

Of all my various guitars, the 50’s Standard is becoming my constant go to for playability. The neck is awesome, and is just so comfortable to play. I never wanted a cherry burst before until I saw this one and played it.

Lovin the new Les Paul

I picked up a second-hand 2011 Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop Pro from Japan. Swapped the knobs and toggle switch tip for a more ’60s look.

Not sure what’s going on with Les Paul switch

Hello all. I’ve purchased this beautiful Les Paul standard last year. No issue for a while until I didn’t play it for some time. I noticed that the middle and Rhythm toggle didn’t produce any sound. Sent to the shop and he said it’s just need some TLC cause it’s an expensive guitar and the issue stems from dust or something. But now it happened again. This time i purchased some contact cleaner and spray the heck out of it but nothing seems to work. It’s a bit hard to send to the shop again cause of distance but if anyone have an idea or possible workaround, please help this person out 😭🙏🏻 thank you

This Is Getting Out of Hand. Now There Are Two of Them!

Finally did it. My Epi LP (1995 Korea) was my first guitar that was not a hand me down from a relative or a pawn shop find…my parents got for me for Christmas in 1995 and it has been my primary guitar since then. After my wife and kids and cats it’s what I’d run into a burning building to save (hopefully never have to).

As much as I love that Epi I always wanted a Gibson LP and a tobacco burst LP (yep one of those people who wanted to learn guitar the moment Slash walked out of that church and into the desert in November Rain). After a visit to the Gibson Garage in Nashville recently I was inspired and finally felt the time was right and made my move. I debated humbuckers versus P90s but I have a couple guitars with humbuckers and one of my favorite artists (Godspeed You! Black Emperor) has used a gold top P90 LP at times so I felt tobacco burst P90 bridged where I started I ended up as a guitarist.

I’ll be honest…in terms of playability the difference is negligible but it makes me very happy to see them next to each other…some kind of full circle nonsense, but they’re both stunning and inspiring guitars.

Gibson Les Paul BFG - problem!

Problem: both volumes are acting as master volume(s) when pickup selector is in the middle position, meaning both controls affect the total output; turning either volume knob to zero will silence the entire guitar.

This is not the case on my LP Studio Deluxe 2, where I can blend the pickup levels independently.

I'm told it can be rewired to decouple the volumes, but doing so could introduces significant treble loss?

That sound right?

My 54 reissue I bought when I was 25

I ruined myself as a PhD student at the time but it has been such an incredible instrument. I played countless hours on it, and P90 have quite an impressive versatility that allowed me to play from math rock to stoner rock and prog rock. Love the fact that I got an edition without the classic gold top

What do y'all think of this DC?

Got bored and came up with it. Nothing too special, basically the regular one with a bigger pickguard.
