Msi Vector 16 HX A14VHG water cooled

Turned my laptop into a mini water-cooled beast 💧🔥

Not perfect yet since I’m running the smallest radiator possible, so it struggles a bit with such a high watt CPU. GPU is chill, CPU is the only thing holding it back for now — pretty sure a bigger rad will fix that.

Built the whole thing with basically whatever tools I had on my desk, so yeah it’s a bit ugly 😅 but it works, and honestly it was way easier than I expected.

So far… really happy with it.

Fix for WorkloadsSessionHost.exe RAM Hoarding on Copilot+ PCs (Recover 4GB+ of RAM)

Fix for WorkloadsSessionHost.exe RAM Hoarding on Copilot+ PCs (Recover 4GB+ of RAM)

The Problem

If you own a Copilot+ PC (AMD Ryzen AI, Intel Lunar Lake, or Snapdragon X) running Windows 11 24H2 or 25H2, you may have noticed multiple WorkloadsSessionHost.exe processes silently consuming anywhere from 2GB to 8GB of RAM while doing absolutely nothing visible.

These are part of Microsoft's AI infrastructure. They stay loaded indefinitely to pre-warm AI models. The problem: they never release that memory, even when idle. On 16GB machines, this pushes idle usage above 60%.

The AMD Ryzen AI Bug

On Strix Point (XDNA2 NPU), there's a confirmed bug where models are loaded into System RAM and executed on CPU instead of the NPU, wasting 3–4GB of shared memory for nothing.

The Solution: WorkloadManager

I developed a lightweight PowerShell daemon that runs silently and enforces a 60-second lifetime on every WorkloadsSessionHost.exe process.

How it works:

  1. Windows spawns the process.
  2. WorkloadManager detects the PID within 3 seconds.
  3. Starts a 60-second countdown.
  4. At 60s → Stop-Process -ForceRAM is freed.
  5. If you use Click to Do again, Windows spawns a fresh instance, it works, and 60s later it's cleaned up again.

Results (Real Logs)

In my testing (Lenovo Yoga 7), a single cleanup cycle freed over 4,350 MB across 7 processes:

  • PID 10004 → 4,161 MB freed (The main offender)
  • PID 8720 → 527 MB freed
  • PID 9320 → 307 MB freed

Installation & GitHub

I've made the script open-source so anyone can audit and use it.

Quick Steps:

  1. Download the files (Installer, Uninstaller, and the Script).
  2. Open Terminal as Admin.
  3. Run the installer: PowerShellSet-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force & "C:\Path\To\Instalar-WorkloadManager.ps1"

Verify it's working:

Run this to see your recovered RAM:

PowerShell

Get-EventLog -LogName Application -Source WorkloadManager -Newest 20 | Select-Object TimeCreated, Message

FAQ

  • Does it break Click to Do? NO. It just kills the process after it's been idle.
  • Does it disable Recall? Yes, the installer includes registry keys to kill Recall permanently.
  • Is it safe? Yes, it doesn't modify system files or delete anything; it just manages process lifetime.

Feel free to share, modify, or contribute!

what causes this lol

so i’ve been having issues with this laptop not turning on consistently for almost a month now. i chalked it up to either a ram or motherboard issue because online it says if the caps lock light doesn’t work then it’s one of those. i turned it on a little while ago and was able to use it for 5 minutes before it shut down. now, it has been turning on and off until the lenovo loading logo popped up and then the screen turned into this.

is it worth troubleshooting and getting repaired? or upgrading

(have had for over 2 years)

Fan started to sound like a jet and found a fix. Lenovo slim 7i

First time poster and first time repairer. I had set my laptop down, like I always do, and the fan seemed to take off right as I let go. At first I thought it was a software issue causing my fans to suddenly spike but with a bit of trouble shooting I saw that the temperatures were within a standard range, even lower than normal.

So I took the leap and opened up a laptop for the first time and BINGO I immediately noticed there was a sticker that had traveled to the inner part of the fan blades. I took it out, used some compressed air and now the laptop is cleaner and back to normal. I feel like a surgeon that just had a successful surgery.

Lenovo Yoga 16" Gen10 - Fan Noise

I received my new Gen10 Lenovo Yoga 16" a couple of weeks ago and have noticed the fans are quite loud when running on low, almost like a rumbling engine sound.

I thought this might be something that went away after a bit of use, letting the fans settle in, but I haven't noticed any change.

It's only when the laptop is lying flat, if I prop it up at a 45+ degree angle the noise goes away and the fans sound normal with just the push of air. They also seem normal when the fans are going harder (e.g. during gaming), with just a louder sound of pushing air.

Is there any way to manually control/adjust fan speed?

Is this common? Any suggestions if/how this can be fixed before I contact Lenovo?

Use another port to charge? Lenovo Yoga 6

My computer has a lot of physical damage (all my bad, I'm very cautious now but in my freshman year of college that was not the case) and my USB-C charging port is not working great, I have to plug my computer in at just the right angle than leave it still the charge. On the other side of my computer there is a perfectly not-damaged USB-C port, is there a way I can charge through this port? It doesn't charge automatically with this one but is there a setting that I can change?

Lenovo Service Pathetic Experience (STILL NO RESOLUTION)

So I had bought a lenovo loq last year in December sale as laptop prices were expected to and have risen by about 50% since then (my specific config now costs 1.4L while I bought for only 99k). My model is LOQ 15AHP10 with a Ryzen 7 250 , 32GB Ram, RTX 5060. Since arrival of the laptop on 25 January there was a ticking buzzing screeching sound that changes everytime I boot up the laptop.

This is coil whine and I knew after the first repair that it was the issue. But after asking other people and friends who have the same laptop it seemed as though my issue was rather isolated so I proceeded with warranty repair. They did offer me a replacement or refund whichever is available for the laptop initially but when I asked the guy again he instantly replied that refund will be the most available option which was unfavorable at that time as prices had already increased.

So I went ahead and asked for warranty repair as at that time I suspected it to be a fan issue. Since then every single part of the laptops internals excluding the ram and ssd have been replaced but the noise hasn't gone away. Now I do know and acknowledge the fact that coil whine is a normal phenomenon in electronics but they are engineered in a way that it shouldn't be apparent at sitting distance but rather if you are sticking your ear to it. That is why I was still pursuing them to fix it because I could clearly hear the noise sitting about 1-2 feet away form my laptop while it sits at the far end of my table.

During the repair they botched up the system and miswrote bios entries which broke both windows and legion space which are key components of the system. I also lost the free game pass which I had been saving for FH6 (a bummer but copeable).

Now lenovo service is refusing to replace the machine or provide further resolution saying that "We have assessed the issue and have concluded that your system is fine and operates under our specified specs.". On top of all this the repair tech that came all the time had confirmed to me that the noise was there but refused in front of higher ups and even after sending multiple videos of the noise they say that it doesn't exist.

From the point that I first reported the issue they haven't replied to any of my mails to their escalation department and only communicated via low level execs that are refusing to take action. Even though during one call they did affirm that if by next repair the issue isn't resolved then repair shall be provided but rather they turned away on their word and refuse to accept that the noise isn't under normal levels. I have tried to capture the noise from sitting distance but have failed to capture the noise due to noise cancelling on mobile phones.'

Because I am a student and am in a gap year and have multiple college entrances coming up so I don't have much time to tussle with lenovo or court to settle this case. So I request anyone or u/lenovo u/LenovoSupport to help me regarding this issue to provide advice on what my further actions should be. If I can pick up this case after may then it would be very good since I would be free from all exams by then.

Thanks for reading the post and any help is greatly appreciated

TLDR - Generated BY ChatGPT
Bought a Lenovo LOQ (₹99k) in Dec sale, now priced ~₹1.4L. Since day one (Jan 25), it has loud coil whine audible from 1–2 ft away. Initially offered replacement/refund, but I chose repair thinking it was a fan issue.

After multiple repairs and nearly all internal parts replaced (except RAM/SSD), the issue still persists. Service team even messed up BIOS, broke Windows/Legion Space, and I lost my free Game Pass.

Now Lenovo refuses replacement/refund, claiming the system is “within specs,” despite earlier assurances and even technician acknowledging the noise (but denying it officially). Escalation team hasn’t responded, and support is unhelpful.

Student with exams coming up, no time for legal action right now. Looking for advice on what to do next or if I can pursue this after May.

I have attached videos of the aforementioned issue

Technician was present

PCSX2 makes similar sound to witcher 3

Even wallpaper engine makes this sound

Need help with Lenovo Ideapad

I have a broken screen Ideapad U410 which is being turned on after 8-9 years atleast. I connected a external monitor to it but no display shown.

Troubleshooting:(none worked)

• I plugged in Internal HDD as usb in a working device, it works. Not fault of HDD.

• I tried removing the internal display connector to force display to external monitor.

• Tried spamming Esc, Enter, Shift, Spacebar, F2 to hope it exits bios/boot menu into normal boot.

• Battery charging indicator and power on indicator works.

• Fan in laptop does spin.

• A mouse connected seem to lightup and i guess maybe working, but keyboard connected to same port or different one doesn't seem to do anything(caps, numlock, scrl lock indicators doesnt work)

• Unplugged the CMOS battery and plugged back in.

• Ram unplugged and plugged back in.

Help me with what I might be missing or how to proceed forward to set it up to work and get a display on the monitor.

Bulge above the hinge

I have this laptop for less then a year and noticed that something is bulging just above right hinge. I don't remember closing lid on something. Is there something there like a cable or ribbon? everything under the screen seems soft but in this place feels like it's hard and something is under there.

My new lenovo LOQ laptop

Hi

today I bought the lenovo LOQ with ryzen 5 7235hs 8 cpu's 3.2GHz

and a 4050 rtx 6gb

12 Gb ram

I mainly bought it for gaming

I play only apex legends and I expected more fps

I have every setting on low

In the firing range I get 144fps and it drops to 130 max

but in game I get like between 75 and 100

should I be considered ? or is it a game problem?

should I upgrade the ram and put a second ram stick ? cause I read online the only one stick of 12 ram could lead to some bottleneck issues and a dual channel ram is better

thank you

Lenovo Yoga 7i High Memory Usgae

I am looking for a fix for a severe memory issue on my Lenovo Yoga 7i. Despite having 16 GB of RAM and very few applications open, the system is consistently hitting 85%+ memory usage.

Technical Specifications & Data:

Model: Lenovo Yoga 7i

RAM: 16 GB

Memory In-Use: 14.1 GB / 15.5 GB

Committed Memory: 21.8 / 29 GB

User Process Usage: ~4.5 GB (via Task Manager Users tab)

Unaccounted RAM: ~9.6 GB (not visible in standard process list)

Non-Paged Pool: 713 MB

System Process: < 100 MB

Secure System: < 100 MB

Troubleshooting Completed:

Hardware Scan: Ran a full scan via Lenovo Vantage; results came back clear.

Driver Updates: Installed latest Intel drivers and checked for updates via Vantage; no change in usage.

Task Manager: Verified that the sum of active processes does not equal the total 14.1 GB reported as "In-Use."

The Problem:

The laptop is extremely laggy due to the massive memory over-commitment. There is roughly 9 GB of "ghost" memory usage that is not attributed to any specific user application or system process in Task Manager. Is this a known issue and how do I fix it?
