Pretty cool set. Seems more like a collectible so probably won’t use them. Is this set common where you guys are?
**The Last photo is the Milwaukee cutters.
Used the 250th diagonal cutters for the first time. Just to cut some tiny plastic hoses. I felt a lot more resistance than I thought I should have.
Looked closer and the jaws are severely misaligned. Almost looks intentional. My Milwaukees aren’t like that. Is this normal for longevity?
I recently bought the pass thru crimper and RJ45 heads for terminating CAT 6. The copper wires simply don't "pass through" anything. The wires bunch, bend, anything OTHER than pass through. I'm very experienced with RJ45 terminations and spent a full hour just trying to get wires to pass through a single RJ45 head. Nothing worked.
This is the single worst experience I've had trying a new brand of anything in my entire life. RJ45 terminations are not difficult but Klein Tools make them impossible. If this is any indication of the quality of the rest of their lineup, I don't want to find out.
I'm requesting a full refund on everything and abandoning Klein Tools from here on.
6+ years of spinning the wheel and finally won something! I was kinda surprised it arrived in 3 days.
I’m going to try Frankensteining this with some of my packout stuff.
What opinions do you have to share on these? Just looking to pick up a pair to keep at the house and liked the look of them and feel of the grips. And they’re on sale—I know it’s only $3, but hey why not.
• The dividers are grey rather than orange. Personally I like how visible the dividers are in the regular boxes, as items can blend in with the grey. The PACKOUT drawer dividers are black, but the drawers themselves are red inside rather than orange or grey on black and so items stand out more.
• The cups in the organizer are also black. This is a much bigger issue as darker items get lost in the cups, not an issue with the orange cups of the original organizers. This can be a problem when searching for small items like black or grey screws or black rubber grommets in limited lighting and is IMHO one of the downsides of other box makers' black cups or the black cups or trays.
This isn't meant to be a negative review, just a caveat if you've been wanting to jump into MODbox for a bit and were tempted to pull the trigger now due to the new limited edition stack.
Finally, the last photo shows what I have mentioned is a shortcoming of the Gen 2 latching mechanism; if you look you can tell the medium toolbox in the middle isn't latched closed but you need to look CAREFULLY, where the unlatched bails of the Gen 1 box make it pretty obvious. This could lead to unpleasant spillage incidents, particularly with the Gen 2 organizers.
This set seems good for the sale price. Everything snaps together better than expected. The adapter fits the larger pass through ratchet. The hex shank fits the 20-in 1 handle too.
Why aren't these in AUS yet? I'm a new apprentice and need this. Don't want to have to get a packout.
Just got a brand-new set of Linemans (J2000-9necrtp) and I've seen the Ironworker's versions. They all have springs and a hook bend on the handle, so I'm curious as to how they would feel in the hand and how they work on splicing copper and aluminum wire. Any sparky's here that have used them?
Anyone know if Klein pouches will work with Cliptech hooks?
I was pleasantly surprised to find the Masterforce ones from Menards will work with Cliptech, (but you can't use the Masterforce clips with Cliptech pouches).
I have a pretty big investment with Cliptech hubs, but I just can't find an electrician pouch that feels right, though maybe the Klein ones would be another option.
FWIW, the best pouch for electrical I ever had was a hand-me-down vintage leather Klein one that got stolen - it's what I learned on with my original tools, and I've never found one that was "right" - the same one these days vintage is $$$$!.
Where do I buy modbox in Canada with out paying crazy shipping fees since I don’t have lowes anymore
